Golden Key Art

I purchased this class on Groupon. It’s advertised as a BYOB/​painting class. The class is held in a run-​down house, not a building. The class was at 7:30 pm and was very difficult to find. The street is poorly lit. I went in and was greeted by an elderly gentleman. The classroom was dirty, disorganized and looked like a preschool classroom. The man walked out without any explanation. I felt very uncomfortable and went to my car to call my daughter. He followed me and was waving his arms around and getting in my face. Creepy !!! I told my daughter not to come.

I purchased a Groupon for the BYOB paint nite and it was very misleading. This is not a business, but rather run through her own home. I was under the impression that it would be a «paint nite» thing where you would finish a given painting in the allotted time with instruction. She had us choose our own painting from a bunch of calendar pictures. The teacher spent most of the class time in her kitchen talking to her husband, or on her phone. She lectured about basic stuff including primary and secondary colors. When we told her we knew some art basics she rudely said to us, «Well I didn’t know I would be teaching professionals tonight!» When we asked for help with the paintings she would just say «make this lighter, or make this darker» and then she would just paint on our canvasses to «fix it» instead of giving us instruction. It was pretty ghetto, and not even a business, and shouldn’t even be on Groupon. I would never go here again and I wouldn’t recommend it to others.

I went this past Friday (11÷06÷15) and I truly enjoyed my time there!
Everything was provided, Miss Tamara was extremely polite and explained a variety of painting techniques, she also made my group aware of all the different tones of colors we could create using only two or three. The music was soothing.
She also provides a little gift in the end. So cute and thoughtful! I would definitely go back again. Highly recommend! :-)

SO MUCH FUN! We came here for a BYOB paint night and left feeling like great artists. Tamara our instructor is such a lovely talented artist! She brought out the creative artistic sides in all of us. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking to explore their artistic side and also have fun doing it.

I was at the painting class with my co-​workers. It was an amazing evening. Tamara the teacher is very professional, gave personal attention and answered all the questions we had. It was the first time I took part in art class, and thanks to Golden Key Art — definitely not the last.

A very, very good place to take art classes. I’ve done a few and this has been my favorite place. You enter a different world here. Almost like someone’s private sanctuary. Gifted artists and you actually learn something here. Got a great deal on Living Social.

My Boyfriend planned a BYOB paint night for our date this weekend, and it was amazing!!! Better than any activity in the area. The teacher, Tamara, was so helpful and talented. I can’t wait to go back!

I bought the living social deal for this studio. I was extremely impressed with this Art teacher. I’m not very artistic and she helped me view art in different ways that I could relate to. She was kind, patient and knowledgeable. Our session ran an hour later then it was suppose to and she didn’t even rush us. She was more interested in making sure we understood art and we enjoyed our paintings. I highly recommend taking this class! I will definitely be back!
