History

Established in 1988.

Business was established in 1988. Serving the city of Tarzana and surrounding neighborhoods for over 20 years. Seeing the neighborhood evolve with patients, that were once kids themselves, now bringing their children to be treated by us, is priceless.

Our Team includes experienced professionals, led by Dr. Vic A. Derbalian. We each share the belief that our care should be comprehensive and courteous — responding fully to your individual needs and preferences.

Our Technical Team includes certified dental assistants, and hygienist licensed and registered in the state of CA. Supporting an office environment that is warm and friendly, our office receptionist greets every patient, and makes every attempt to set appointments that can accommodate your personal schedule. She is also at your service to explain and facilitate insurance and financial arrangements.

Dr. Vic A. Derbalian continues to improve his craft by taking several units of continuing education yearly. He has studied general dentistry with department specialist from the University of Southern California school of Dentistry.

Dr. Derbalian regularly participates in courses to improve his craft utilizing modern techniques and materials. Dr. Derbalian has published articles about the development of cosmetic dentistry. His ability to render comprehensive care, while being especially sensitive to the needs of phobic patients, sets him apart from his colleagues. He subscribes to the theory of oral health leading to overall body health.

Dr. Derbalian is known for pampering his patients by listen to all needs.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Derbalian since the 90’s and thanks to his amazing skill set I have an amazing smile that is constantly being complimented. Dr. D truly is trustworthy, cares about his patients and goes so far out of his way to do an impeccable job. Since I was referred to him by my orthodontist almost 20 years ago, I have not let another dentist come anywhere near my mouth. I would recommend him to anyone without a 2nd thought.

Dr. Vic is the best dentist I’ve ever been to. Not only he is an amazing dentist, he is so caring that you automatically trust him and follow his advice. I was introduced to him by my husband, who has been going to him for at least a decade and has gotten many things done by him, without any hesitation I will and do recommend Dr. Vic to all I know. If you’re looking for a dentist who cares for the health of your teeth more than how much your insurance pays for it, DR. Vic is your choice. I have gotten my teeth whitened by him and am currently on invisiline that is progressing a little slow but I’m sure the results will be amazing. Thank You Doc for all you do for my family and I. We Love you and you simply ROCK!!!

Start my treatment less than a year ago with this office, After the first and second visit I was impressed, Until had a extraction and implant done on my tooth, Sure enough have to go for x-​ray for 6 months before all done, But once in the middle of treatment they don’t care if I had an appointment. 2 pm appointment turn out to be 2:35 still have to wait, When ask about my appointment time which is just another x-​ray for five minutes in and out, office receptionist tells me other people were before me in the office and I have to wait. Don’t understand why they gave so many appointments they can’t keep up, Big sing says if you miss your appointment $ 50.00 charge, Now who owes me a $ 50.00.
I think Dr. Vic is doing great job, But the assistants and office staff are so unprofessional (Need Training). I am not going back to this office for dental work again.
So expensive $ 3000.00 for implant one tooth. Not worth the price.

Today is a happy day! I finally got my veneers done by a dentist who is not only a great professional but also a very caring and sincere individual. He and his staff were very excellent with the service they provided. They took their time, listened to my needs and concerns and did their very best to ensure my happiness and satisfaction.
Every morning since the procedure, I wake up with a smile on my face and am beyond happy with my new and improved smile.
He is a dentist I will continue to go to for any and all of my dental needs and will highly recommend him and his staff without any hesitation.

I had 22 cavities a couple years back and thanks to Dr. Derbalian I did not feel a thing! He’s seriously the BEST dentist with the sweetest personality and biggest heart for all his patients. I honestly look forward to my dentist visits cuz I love Dr. Derbalian! He would be the ideal dentist for anyone but especially kids who are scared of dentists. Only dentist I would EVER consider for the rest of my life. Best dentist in the world award.

The most trustworthy, caring, and gentle dentist I have EVER had! I currently live in Michigan but keep Dr. Derbalian as my dentist and see him when I come to LA a couple of times a year.
Almost 13 years ago my former dentist put in 4 fillings at once and never filed them down properly causing there to be tons of pressure on those fillings whenever I bit down. When I told that dentist my teeth really hurt when I eat chips or crunchy foods he recommended root canals – I immediately stopped seeing that dentist.
After that I saw 2 other dentists who told me I needed root canals because I told them my teeth hurt whenever I would eat crunchy foods. I was so frustrated and was having major trust issues with dentists because I knew I didn’t need root canals and thought I was going to have to live with the pain forever. No more chips, apples, protein bars :(
Then, like a miracle my fiancée recommended Dr. Derbalian! He fixed my problem fillings and told me that root canals were not necessary. For the first time in 13 years I am PAIN FREE when I eat crunchy foods!!!
He is the most gentle and compassionate dentist as well as human being I have ever met. I wish there were more ways for me to let people know how wonderful he truly is. Christina, who sits at the front desk is so sweet and very knowledgeable. I am moving to Boston in August but will continue to only see Dr. Derbalian. Please don’t ever retire! He is absolutely amazing.

My dad is a dentist — and although i may be biased i’m inclined to say a pretty great one at that (no one likes getting shots in their mouth, by family member or not– but i have never had any problems). Needless to say I kind of thought I was set in the dentist department. But when i smashed in my front teeth and dad is 400 miles away, i needed to find someone good to help me ASAP.
I was recommended him by a friend — and i am one lucky girl. Dr, Derbalian is very kind, understanding, and showed me the empathy i needed to what was a HUGE ordeal for me. He was very gentle, and does great work. I trust him immensely, and will continue to return to him when i can’t get my dental work done in sacramento with my dad.
if you’re looking for a dentist in the area, you won’t go astray here.

Not a trustworthy dentist. If you have insurance, they will recommend unnecessary treatments to max out your benefits. Do not consider under any circumstances.
Edit: LOL at the comment below. Many people don’t use their real name on Unilocal to maintain their anonymity. And people do move around. Of course the dentist should know that and I am definitely not confused about who I am reviewing. Some people just don’t change.

I have been going to Dr Debalian for about 10 years, and he is a very good dentist, he cares about his patients. He is gentle always making sure I am comfortable. His dental equipment and quality of dental work is great. I look forward in going to the dentist, he is very good. HIs staff is also very courteous and efficient. «As good as it gets» is the perfect way to describe this very real, very caring, and extremely qualified DDS. He is professional but very different from any other person I have met in the medical field in the way he cares about his patients.
He makes you feel comfortable from the start, explains everything, and gives you options. Pain management is a main priority, He was my husband’s oral surgeon and did an extensive amount of work on him on Saturday’s because my husband owns his own buss. and could not come in during the week. (Talk about working with his patients!)
He also removed our twin daughters wisdom teeth, again on a weekend and did so back to back so both my husband and I could be there for them.
I was so impressed by this man and his genuine caring nature, along with his skilled
hands that I switched from my Dentist (of many years) to become his patient.
He will follow through with your care, call you himself to make sure all is well and you’re healing as expected.
He is a wonderful, warm and outstanding doctor.

Dr. Vic is the best dentist!!! If you are looking for a wonderful, non painful, honest, kind, knowledgeable, and friendly dentist look no further! I have been going to Dr. Vic for a few years now. I would say that I am the only person I know that gets excited to go to the dentist, but I’m friends with four other of his patients and I know they feel the same way!
