Danny Deck Construction

Working with Danny, Hannah who runs the office, and all of his people who worked on our deck was a completely positive experience from start to finish. He was straight forward and detailed in our discussions about the deck project requirements before we started the work, his pricing was very competitive and his team delivered a beautiful deck within the time frame agreed upon. His crew were on time every day… you could set your watch by them. And they answered any and all questions we had during the project and were very accommodating and responsive to requests we made during the construction as we had another project going on at the same time which required some accommodation by Danny’s people. The deck construction took about six weeks and several times Danny’s people worked on Saturday in order to meet the timeline. Danny was also always available if we felt we needed to talk with him and always returned our calls in a timely manner. We absolutely recommend him — he is experienced, professional, hard working and responsive. This is a family owned company and, in our experience, their work product and customer service was as good as it gets.

I had a wonderful experience with Danny Deck Construction. I met with both Danny and Ari. They were patient and reviewed several options with us, making sure we were happy with our choice. We ended up doing cable railing and a stained wood privacy screens/​gates… it came out better than we could have imagined! The team that came out to do the job were nice and professional. I would easily recommend these guys to my friends and family.

Danny and his team were professional and timely. The work turned out better than imagined! He was tasked with renovating a set cantilevered balconies in addition to building a hillside terrace with retaining walls. The work came out beautiful and is the envy of the neighborhood. Thanks Danny!

From the get-​go, Danny worked with my ideas and budget to come up with the perfect plan. His crew is friendly and polite. They worked hard and quickly and they had our deck done and stained within the week!
It’s beautiful and perfect.
Throughout the process, Danny was responsive to any calls/​emails I made with questions. We could not be happier with our new space (we’ve been out there every night since they finished).

Danny has threatened to sue me.
And Danny is now making all sorts of excuses as to why he disappeared on us. I wrote honest reviews here and on Angie’s list (you can see our entire email thread there) and he called, left a message and threatened to sue me. Every word is the truth. Bottom line is, he flaked on us. I asked him point blank in an email if he wanted to do our deck and he replied saying he would love to build our deck.
Replying to his comment below — I was crystal clear on the day we met that there was an easement issue with the corner of our deck. So his threats and excuses are really now showing his lack of integrity.
The purpose of these review sites are to weed out sketchy businesses and give props to those who do a good job. We did not have a good experience with Danny. We are not lying, we are not trying to get away with building an unpermitted deck. The city is completely aware of our deck and the property line. As I told him the day we met, we made an agreement with the city to remedy the deck and to remove that crappy little room BEFORE we even bought the house. It’s all in writing at the city. So trying to make us seem like we’re trying to get away with an illegal deck and he refused to be a part of it, is now just… sad.
We gave Danny so much patience. I even emailed him about another property that needed a small repair with dry rot. He never replied to those emails either. I have emails and cell records of everything, including referencing the easement and the corner of the deck. So his now suggesting he knew nothing about it and he did «research» on it and discovered it on his own is really pitiful. Had he actually done research on our deck he would have discovered that in 2002 there was an easement in place for a bit of the corner of our deck to cross the property line. It was originally build this way and it is documented with the city.
I, honestly, really liked Danny when we met. But do you like your time being wasted? Cause I sure don’t. Wasted time with Danny coming to our house, showing him around, deciding on Danny… Then we waited for Danny to start the job. Lots of emails back and forth. But we waited. And waited. Danny never once said he didn’t want to fix our deck. Not once. Quite the opposite — he said he would love to.
Oh, and the survey guy he references wouldn’t come to our house because it was too far for him. This is also in an email to Danny. And the engineer he refers to in the comment below Danny says — in the same voicemail where he threatens to sue me – that he fired the guy for being unreliable. He doesn’t use him anymore. It’s on my voicemail.
Danny is all over the place with his excuses. Homeowner be warned.

Can’t say enough good things about Danny and his team at Danny Deck Construction.
I hired them to build a 3,000 square feet Ipe deck for my new home. Danny came out himself to give me a quote. I shopped around a bit, but found that Danny’s quote was the most cost efficient. He offered more for the money and sound more reliable and professional than the other competitors.
At first we were a bit stressed about that work but thank goodness we were in great hands!
The thing I like the most about Danny is how knowledgeable he is. I am a little embarrassed to admit this, but before I met Danny I didn’t even knew what Ipe is. Today I can write an article at the «construction gazette» about Ipe decking. I was also impressed that they buy the Ipe decking products from well-​managed forests in South America. By doing so they can hand select the finest Ipe and still keep great prices.
The crew completed the job in less then 3 weeks which is phenomenal considering the amount of work they had and the high quality they provided.
I will recommend Danny deck to anybody I know.

Danny and crew constructed a fairly large Ipe wood deck, made a concrete fire pit, and concrete planter. The price was fair. Only waited a few weeks for work to start. And the project was completed in 2 weeks. Most of the deck was constructed in the first week. The work was completed to my total satisfaction. I am thrilled at how everything turned out. Danny is the best.

Danny and his crew did an excellent job building my deck. Price was good and craftsmanship was top notch. If you need a deck you can’t go wrong with Danny Deck!

Initially, we had only wanted to replace the top layer of decking with mangaris. However, in the course of tearing up that top layer so that another contractor could repair a storm drain running beneath the deck, we discovered that the deck was not properly draining and the existing substructure was rotten. Danny revised his quote quickly and was very accommodating regarding the schedule, since we needed to have the drainage contractor repair both the storm drain and the deck drain before a new deck could go in. Once the drainage contractor’s work was completed, Danny’s crew was back and on the job, quickly completing the deck as well as the additional repair and waterproofing work on the storage shed, fencing around the property, the outdoor pergola, and the trash area.
In the end, we were very happy with how Danny and Hannah communicated with us regarding important changes as well as the quality of the work. Danny and his crew were very professional and created a fantastic looking deck.

Danny Deck built two new decks of approximately 650 sq. ft. and 400 sq. ft., a 75 ft. staircase, two new retaining walls and new 8 ft. privacy fence (with gate). I live on a hillside so there was extensive excavating and engineering that took place.
Overall the project couldn’t have gone any better. The work was performed as agreed and within the time frame (4 weeks) initially discussed. Workers were clean, friendly and punctual. Danny was involved in every step along the way and was very good about keeping me updated on progress and providing recommendations. This was our first big project at our new house and my husband and I are so happy with the final product. Bottom line, you would be doing yourself a disservice not to engage Danny for any deck construction or maintenance. He and his team are great!
