Visited the restaurant last this past weekend after a day trip to Sleepy Hollow cemetery. There were 4 of us and it was around 2:30ish for lunch, so we had the place almost to ourselves. Walked in and we were seated right away. Looked over the menu and was pleased to see a lunch menu offered. We ordered diet cokes and water and then put in our order. We got a burrata app to start and ordered salads and a soup for our entrée. The buratta was really delicious and the fruit and beet purée that accompanied it give it a nice touch. My cobb salad was very fresh, and the cesar salad dressing was amazing. It had a nice tangy bite to it. After only having salads for our main we decided dessert was necessary. We had the crème brûlée. Awesome. And the bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. Again, awesome. The reason for 3 stars is due to service. Everything seemed to take a while, especially since there was only 1 other table in the place. We only ordered salads which should not take long to prepare since there is little to no cooking involved. We noticed another table received bread but we did not. And also, it was freezing in there. I think they had the AC on. One of my friends had to eat with their jacket on.

Food was decent for a typical neighborhood tavern. I wish they weren’t so skimpy with the bacon on my turkey blt, but it was still tasty, as was the tavern steak salad. The service was good, but for some bizarre reason the waiter took the salt and pepper shakers off of our table halfway through the meal and placed them on the table next to us even though no one was seated there. I still can’t figure that one out.

We came here to meet up with friends around the Christmas holiday. The inside of the tavern was decorated very elegantly and nicely for the holiday season, which created a warm atmosphere. The place is fairly small, but we had made reservations and had no issues. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone had clean plates at the end of the evening. I had the mac and cheese with crab and it was absolutely amazing! There was a very healthy portion of crab(somethings other restaurants can be skimpy), and the cheese wasn’t too heavy. It was a perfect combination. My husband had the short rib ragu, which he originally thought was a little small portion(but he can eat a lot), but in the end he finished it but stated it was so tender and delicious, and the perfect amount to keep him satisfied but not over stuffed. They had a decent wine menu, and we loved that they had a very very reasonably priced bottle of Cab from the north fork of Long Island. It was delicious. Good and quick service, without being overbearing or up in your face.

I had an excellent meal last night at Tarry Tavern!!! I dined with 5 other people and we all had soup or apps and a main course. Three of us had desserts. We all loved everything. Not one complaint. My soup was so flavorful. The Mac and cheese was amazing. The crab on top was plentiful and added so much flavor to the Mac and cheese that was delicious and creamy. We went there because I had been there once before and the food was great. Service was excellent!!! There are so many good restaurants in Tarrytown I’d like to try, but this one I’d definitely go back to.

Worst dining experience ever. Went to lunch with 3 other women, the food was bland, the service was awful. The waiter was extremely rude and attempted to include his tip in the bill. He over charged on the credit card given to him by $ 46 and then said it was for his tip. After we made him remove the charge he went to the table grabbed the tip left for him and insisted that he be given more. He began pushing the credit card slip into one of the ladies faces demanding more tip. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy and if you end up there, check your receipt!

My sister and I were new in town and happened to run into the owners, Henry and Anna, a few times during the moving process. They are so welcoming and friendly. I decided to meet my family there for dinner and the food was PHENOMENAL! We loved everything we ordered. Our group all ordered different entrées and some appetizers and each one was delicious. I ordered a ricotta pasta with short rib sauce, my sister got risotto with shrimp, her boyfriend got a hamburger, and we got pumpkin ravioli to start. We also tried the Mac and cheese which is to die for! We managed to save some room for dessert and tried the tiramisu and chocolate cake and the owners gave us a complimentary pear almond tart. We had a great experience there and have been back for more pear almond tarts since then(they’re addictive)! I highly recommend this restaurant.

I have written a review about Tarry Tavern before, however, I feel the need to do it again. If there is any reason for me to be in or near Tarry Town I find myself at there. The owners, Henry and Anna, as well as their waitstaff make me(and my friends) feel like we’ve come home. All the food, especially my favorite, Roasted Potato Gnocchi, is «yummy.» Must haves include, Osso Bucco, Stuffed Octopus, Scallops with Butternut Squash Risotto. My mouth is watering just writing about these incredible offerings. I could go on and on about this wonderful restaurant, but you need to try it yourself. I guarantee you will be writing another great review.

Tarry Tavern is consistently an all around good restaurant. I’ve been about a dozen times over the past few years and always had a good experience. I have particularly enjoyed the scallops, the Amish chicken, the beet salad, the mussels, and the butternut squash soup. Solid beer list, although it could be more varied/interesting — doesn’t quite live up to the«Tavern» in the name. Service is not super fast, but is always at least reasonably prompt. The décor is nice. Usually a good atmosphere, but it’s very small space, so if you get a few loud tables, it goes from relaxing to deafening in a hurry. Despite these minor drawbacks, though, it’s a solid choice.

Went on Sunday night before we did the Sleepy Hollow events. Food was delicious, service very good. It was a happening place and was packed. I enjoyed the scallops and my friend liked her crab meat Mac and Cheese. Bar was nice.

Called here and made a reservation for 6 on a Sunday, arrived and waited 10 minutes before someone acknowledged we were there and then proceeded to tell us they didn’t have our reservation. When I told the hostess the date I called she rudely told me they only took 4 reservations in September. I guess she thought I was lying to her. We then asked if she could seat us regardless and she again rudely said outside. The food did look good but I can’t comment on that and won’t be returning to find out.

I was at Tarry Tavern for a rehearsal dinner, and our group took up three large tables at the back of the restaurant since there’s no separate room for events. At least we had easy access to the bathroom! The meal started off with bread and butter that was shaped into the letters T which was cute. The first course was a salad, the main I selected salmon with green lentils, carrots, and parsnip purée, and for dessert, we all got vanilla bean panna cotta. Other main course options consisted or roasted chicken and ricotta cavatelli with braised short rib, both which got thumbs up from those who opted for those dishes. The food was very good and reminded me of my local tavern. Not transcendent but solid. Portions could have been slightly bigger, but no big deal. The servers in their checkered/gingham shirts were attentive and polite, and the atmosphere reminded me of a grandma-type’s living room, homey and welcoming. Parking was slightly challenging but doable. Not sure if or when I would be back in Tarrytown, but I’d pay a second visit to Tarry Tavern.

Came in for dinner before a concert and unfortunately was severely underwhelmed. The hostess greeted us right away and it seemed a little busy so we opted for the bar. We sat at the bar and right away I noticed the bar was a disaster. Dirty dishes and empty glasses by the draft tower and random empties behind the bar. The bartender wasn’t bad, per say, but he hardly said anything to us. The first word he said was«hi,» and that was after he dropped out menus and we were ready to order. I got up to use the men’s room twice and both times a rude-ass server cut me off and didn’t let me pass and once straight bumped into me. Rude. On top of that they looked like they were in the weeds. The food came out fast and was really good, kudos to the kitchen, however good service is about a lot more than food, especially for the prices at this restaurant. If you’re ever around this area, go elsewhere, I know I am.

We have eaten here before and not really had issues. So, we made a reservation for a window table today for our anniversary. When we arrived, the table that we had reserved wasn’t available and we were just told sorry it’s not available. Meanwhile, there was an empty table in the window that looked ready for seating. No explanation was offered for that table and no apology was given. Because of this lack of empathy for their customers, we will not be patronizing this establishment again.

Although it’s been open for several years now, I maintain that Tarry Tavern is one of the most underrated and overlooked great restaurants in all of Westchester. I have been coming here intermittently since it opened, and have always had excellent dining experiences. The owner and his staff are gracious and professional, the ambiance is nice, and the menu is inspired, versatile, and filled with delicious choices, ranging from pasta to duck. I love their appetizer lineup so much that on several occasions I’ve just ordered two or three apps in the place of an entrée, especially their homemade pan-crisped gnocchi. Their wine selection is very good as well, and most bottles are reasonably priced. Tarry Tavern is the perfect spot to go for a date(I’ve done MANY here), family gatherings, or just to meet up with friends. I urge you to check this place out yourself if you haven’t done so already, because it is not a venue to miss!

My husband and I had reservations for 6 o’clock on a Friday evening, before a concert at the Tarrytown Music Hall. We were seated promptly. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. The waitstaff was attentive. My husband ordered the Pinot Noir by the glass and I ordered the the Malbec. Both were quite acceptable. The Malbec was smooth. I had the salad greens as an appetizer. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it. It was fine for me because I wanted something lo– cal and something healthy. But some of the other appetizers looked delicious. My husband had the parmesan crusted gnocchi with prosciutto as his appetizer. I had to sample a tiny bite. It was delicious, especially the cream sauce. The presentation was pretty as well. For my entrée I had salmon and red quinoa. It was very flavorful. I like my salmon cooked well, even though that is probably not the correct way to eat it, and it was cooked exactly per my request. My husband had the New York strip steak with spinach and scalloped potatoes. He said it was also very tasty. It was cooked perfectly. For dessert we shared the lemon ricotta tart. It came topped with strawberries and Milano cookie. It was as delicious as it was pretty. My husband had coffee, which she said was not the greatest, and I had peppermint tea. The entire bill with tax came to $ 114. We felt that was very reasonable considering we each had an appetizer, each had a glass of wine, and shared dessert. We’ve had much less for much more. We would definitely come back here again. It was delightful.

If this review was based on the taste of food alone it would get higher stars but the service wasn’t all that great and menu did not match the name it was way to upscale and snooty to be called a tavern! I ordered the salmon which was very tasty but took forever to get our food and very confused on who our exact server was since not one person was designated to our table. One man was very unfriendly and needed to learn what a smile was! Food was good but there are definitely better places to spend your money! And a glass of wine for 10 dollars is a little excessive

Not your granddaddy’s tavern. And thank goodness for that as the TT is a gem in a bland world of westchester dining options that thrive due to the high demand of bland palates that populate this area. The menu is seasonal reflective & updates make constant return visits possible without going mad in a tiny stream of restaurant options. The quality & creativity of the food is Manhattan worthy. Must trys– To get in the mood is the chicken liver pâté. Go strong with the incredible Short Rib lasagne. All kept together with the delightful quartino mega glasses of vino(hand picked by the owner) that are approachable and yet leave no utterances of «hmmmm let me try another». For dessert, Johnny Walker. Black. If it’s summer weather chill outside & take in the very happening Tarry Town action. Open with agreeable hours to my kind who like lunch at 3pm & dinner at midnight. And if you need to ask about price(although it happens to be reasonable) you should join the rest of your kind at the hectic Greek joint up the road. Bön Appetite.

Not an ordinary menu. The food is amazing. You may have to wait even if you have a reservation but it is worth it. We went here with a friend so we didn’t mind waiting. Service was professional.

My friend and I went to a nice lunch in a sunny Sunday afternoon. We sit outside, taking advantage of the nice weather that day had. I loved the form that the butter had ‘T’ also the bread was very good. We share a few Appetizers: Octopus: warm octopus dish with Roasted Potatoes, Chickpea Purée, and Garlic & Olive Oil. It was delightful, good taste Stuffed calamari: with Black Forbidden Rice, Spicy Chouriço & Tomato Broth inside. I didn’t enjoy the taste of this app. Main course: I order the New York Strip Steak Medium with can with some Truffled Potato Gratin & Corn on the side, the steak was delicious, I was quite happy with it, the portion was so big that I had half and took half for my lunch the next day. My friend, ate the pasta with pulled lamb he mentions that was very fresh and love it. The server, was very good.
