Specialties

In 1989 we began restoring our 180 year old historic adobe hacienda… and 21 years later, it’s our passion and love. But we also know that all work and no play, etc… so we acquired an intimate knowledge of trails, rivers, ski runs, old Indian ruins, ghost towns etc. and pride ourselves on being northern NM outdoor enthusiasts. We also have special recommendations for amazing food and local unique art in Taos. Did we mention we personally know the best hot rocks massage in town? Each morning, over our full homemade breakfasts, we will help you plan your Taos experience/adventure, which will also allow for time in the hammock with a good book… and don’t forget to appease the gods with an evening soak in the starlit hot tub. We are friendly, laid back and lovers of international travel and culture… bring us your stories and we’ll share ours… while we wind down the day watching the fiery sunsets from our backyard.

History

Established in 1989.

Our dream to own a B&B began as a «deal struck across a bar» in Santa Fe. Newlywed and pregnant, with barely a pot to pee in, we began a partnership with the owner of an old hacienda on 7.5 acres in Taos. It used to be an old guesthouse in the 1940’s, but now it was in a grave state of disrepair. The only thing we had to offer besides buckets of luv, was our sweat equity. Our parents cried at the monumental task, as our friends helped us move in with our 3 month old daughter, Malia. Bartending at nights and changing diapers by day, we gave 12 hour days for 7 months resurrecting the ‘olé girl from the dreads of time. Finally, 5 days before Christmas 1989, we were open for business with only 5 rooms. The business took off after a couple of years (and one more daughter, Krista). We bought out our partners after 10 years, and have slowly and lovingly renovated 5 more rooms, helping to preserve a little piece of Taos history.

Meet the Business Owner

Tim and Leslie R.

Business Owner

Tim hails from the port of St. Louis, though he has lived in Taos for over 30 years. He is a world traveler and adventure, he’s resorted to getting his thrills on the steeps at Taos Ski Valley. He’s also a story-teller extraordinaire of tall and true tales… gotta watch him. Leslie is from Roswell, NM. Yep, that just about says it all. Tim says she was born 9 months after the 1948 crash… that’s how come she looks so young!

They met on the ski slopes in Santa Fe and their daughters are proud 4th generation New Mexico skiers.

Together they are the backbone of the Old Taos Guesthouse B&B. They are the owner, manager, plumber, bookkeeper, chef, door greeter, beekeeper, farmer… you name it.
