Ky Q.
Business Owner
Chan Kayum «Ky» Quintanilla was born in Palenque, Chapias, Mexico. At the age of two he moved to San Antonio, Texas and later in his teens moved to Taos, New Mexico. During that time he developed a hobby of cooking and growing his own vegetables. Gardening, beekeeping, and raising livestock were subjects studied at his homeschool in Texas. After High School Ky moved around to different collages, but finally found his calling at the Culinary Institute of America in New York. Ky was very involved and after a couple months was voted group leader of his class. After culinary school Ky moved back to Taos and started a family with two daughters. Moving around working in restaurants in Albuquerque and eventually opening a restaurant in Cedar Crest. Later moved to Mexico and opened a restaurant on the beaches of Nexpa. Returning to Taos again Ky was hired as Executive Chef of Lambert’s of Taos. His new mission was to bring something new and unique to Taos, Kyote Club.
