History
Established in 2015.
Our business grew out of our love for the barbeque we grew up with in the Lone Star State. Since living in northern New Mexico, we found there was no where nearby to get that genuine Texas taste, and decided to make it our mission to bring that old school slow-smoked pit flavor to Taos and share it with our friends. Our little roadside stand has grown steadily and we are pleased to now be sharing this long-time traditional way of cooking meat with our community and the many visitors who pass this part of northern New Mexico.
Meet the Business Owner
Richard N.
Business Owner
Richard (aka Jethro) learned the art of barbecue by hanging out with his Uncle Bill out in the west Texas town of Uvalde. Summers spent smoking meats for family parties and cooking for overnight commercial rafting trips on the Rio Grande river engendered in him a love for cooking for friends and clients. It became his dream to own and operate a roadside barbecue stand.
After moving to Taos to resume rafting for Far Flung Adventures after a several-years hiatus, the opportunity arose to make that dream a reality. The response was immediate and overwhelming! Folks in Taos are hungry for barbecue! We grew from a couple of tables and a barbecue pit to a food truck after a few months, and we are still going strong, thanks to our friends and supporters in this beautiful high desert mountain town!
