I’m from Austin Texas and I’m here for the summer. Naturally I have to get my haircut sooner or later. I chose this salon from reading review on Unilocal.I was amazed at my new haircut. I thought I had straight hair. I thought I had lost all the curls that I had in my hair. With my new curls coming back from this haircut I am thilled. I am just returning now from the second appointment and her highlights are fabulous. Better than I’ve had in a long time.

I love this salon. It’s chic without being pretentious. Sally gave a fantastic cut that tailored perfectly to my hair texture and somewhat unruly curls. Having been to several high end salons in Taos in search of my home salon, I’ve finally found it here.

The people are amazing and it’s a wonderful place to get oxygenized and adjust immediately to the altitude. The owner, Sally, is a great stylist as well as an spectacular artist. Her son, Raven, is a really good masseuse. If your just headed into Taos, skip the two days of headache and loss of appetite, head over to Hive for 30 min of massage and oxygen. Then hit the town!

My first experience at Hive Salon was positive in every respect, from beginning to end. Making an appointment was so easy using their online scheduling tool; I loved the confirmation email and also the email reminder I got the day before my appointment. I could have called them for my appointment, but wanted to schedule it during a time when the salon was closed. So easy to do it online!
The salon is very conveniently located a few blocks from the Plaza, in a quiet neighborhood with off street parking. I liked the bright and welcoming décor, including the art created by the owner, Sally.
All my fears and pet peeves about salons were absent at Hive. Sally and her staff are warm and friendly, but not overbearing. Sally really listened when I explained what I wanted for my haircut. I showed her a photo of what I wanted and she gave me a beautiful cut that not only looked wonderful when I walked out, but is still flattering and easy to maintain two weeks later. There was no push to buy products, although I would trust the respected product lines she offers.
The salon also has a wide variety of pampering services, including skin, nails and massage. A unique service is their oxygen bar. If you are visiting Taos and experiencing altitude adjustment issues, spend 10 or 15 minutes at her oxygen bar. It’s a smart and quick way to feel well enough to enjoy this beautiful mountain town.
Hive Salon is the only salon I’m trusting my hair with from now on. Thank you, Sally!

My daughter went in for a haircut & Sally did such an amazing job. I had my hair blown dried and styled, it was the best blow out that i’ve ever had. My hair was perfect for 3 days. I wish I lived closer, I would definitely go back. In fact, I’d make her my personal stylist if I could!

Sally is the most amazing hair dresser I’ve ever been to. As an artist, she takes the same care coloring, cutting and styling your hair as she does creating her beautiful paintings.
