History

Established in 1986.

Country Furnishings of Taos (CFT) has grown and prospered over the last 25 years to become Taos’ favorite home furnishings store.

CFT was founded on its sturdy hand crafted painted furniture which was sold primarily to wholesale accounts around the country. Eventually, owner Mary Shriver expanded the business to include accessories, decorative items and gifts to meet the growing needs of her customers. «I slowly brought in other types of furniture, home décor, folk art and gifts. We try to carry something to please everyone.»

The store has been located in an old adobe building on Paseo del Pueblo Norte since its inception in 1986. Originally constructed in the 1930’s it has been thoroughly renovated and enlarged twice to accommodate our steady growth. We now have over 2000 square feet of display space in seven separate rooms, each offering its own distinctive character and charm.
