The Park at Lake Magdalene

Do not sign a lease here. I have had nothing but problems since moving in six months ago. Upon move in, the apartment was atrocious. The bathroom and kitchen were filthy. The kitchen cabinets were covered in grease, and there were dead bugs and old food littered around. The bathroom had hair from the previous tenants crusted to the shower tiles, sink, and floor. The icing on the cake, however, was the large gap between the sliding glass door frame and the actual glass. This gap easily allowed bugs to enter the apartment, and air from the AC to leak out. When bringing these issues to the management staff, they were less than helpful. None of my issues were properly addressed, and I was given the run around from both the property and maintenance managers. Since then, the hot water in my apartment has been turned off for days at a time, the AC closet has leaked fluid into the hallway carpet, the light fixture in the kitchen has leaked water from the tenants above, the closet doors have stopped working, and a large bubble in the bathroom has leaked what I think is toilet water from the tenants above. The staff is still ignoring these issues, stating I need to email the property manager, who has and is still ignoring my emails. I cannot seem to ever get a hold of her on the phone. Needless to say I am counting down the days until move out, and will never lease with Park at Lake Magdalene again, or their umbrella company, Element Management.

I’ve lived here for almost five years. I can agree with almost any review on other sites. DO NOT lease here. Always maintenance issues. Today at 7:30am the hot water heater pipe burst. They worked on it all day and it’s still not fixed (9pm-​they stopped working at 5pm). I’m sure if one of the maintenance staff lived in this building, it would have been fixed. They get by with everything cheap and then wonder why they have so many issues. They spent tons of money on the office so that you will have a good first impression but don’t be fooled. They are only here to collect the rent and do very little to make living here enjoyable.
