The Dashing Pooch

Very cute, clean, and well-​kept shop! I called for a day-​of appointment, and had to leave a message. But they called me back within about two hours and scheduled my pup’s grooming for later that afternoon. Everyone I talked to at Dashing Pooch was very friendly and sweet.
I love that the dogs are never put in crates throughout their time being groomed, and the shop calls as soon as your dog is done to have them picked up so you don’t have to wait. Also, they are very reasonably priced compared to other groomers in the area (Petsmart), and I will definitely be returning.
Most importantly though, my pup Stella looked so cute and fresh when she was all done!

Outstanding service. Lois actually contacted me while we were on vacation. Setting up my appointments for both our dogs because they do everything together. Liz, whom was very patient in my DETAILS of how I would like them groomed. She assured me both would be well cared for and if any adjustments needed to be made, she would take care of it at no extra charge. We have been so pleased and especially how clean the environment is. Love the fact that they run on time. Our guys get to play with others if we can’t get right back to get them. They are not in cages. Everyone could not be more pleasant. Especially Lois the owner. It’s important to visit first, anywhere you are taking your animal. Get a feel of the place. Make sure you like what you see. Do a consultation. Like getting your hair done! I’m a hiring stylist and colorist. I understand details. Don’t put it on the groomer if you don’t take time to let the groomer know if your dog has ANY condition you may take for granted that they should know. «Like bumbs» clients always point out if they have something on their head I should be aware of. NEVER ASSUME! Take responsibility for your own pet and stop blaming others for your lack of communication. Maybe, if you put down your cell phone long enough, to care more about the details necessary to achieve a pleasant result. You would have saved yourself a trip to the vet.
BE AWARE OF THE BUMPS PET OWNERS. THEY ARE YOUR BABIES. ACT LIKE IT!

Dashing Pooch always does an outstanding job with my shih tzu! Everyone there is so friendly and I feel comfortable leaving my fur baby in their hands! Their prices are also very reasonable for the South Tampa area!

DONT GET FOOLED BY THE GOOD REVIEWS! I got fooled and took my dog there and had an awful experience! The owner Lois is very unprofessional and rude. I took my 12 year old Bichon to get a cut and be bathed. When the front desk lady returned my dog, She looked SO sad and miserable. I was shocked! Never in 12 years has she left a grooming place feeling like that!!! When I noticed her belly, it was red, swollen, burnt, and all her lumps were cut!!! I felt like crying when I saw her. I went back to dashing pooch and asked them what happened to my dog. They explained what happened only when I came back and asked and didn’t have the courtesy to tell me when I picked her up. I rushed to Bayshore Animal Clinic where I had to pay extra because they were closing but thankfully I was attended! The veterinarian gave me medicine for my dog. I was left horrified by this experience. My dog didn’t have to go through this at her age.

I have a toy poodle and have taken him to various groomers the past 8 years in 3 different states.
This is the first place he actually gets excited to go to and stay. His grand grooms are always done wonderfully. The staff members treat him so graciously and with so much love. One visit was all it took to put our search to rest when we moved here over a year ago. :)

They are absolutely amazing. My puppy has gone there for his grooming and day care and they do such a wonderful job on him. He was so tired after his day at daycare, lots of play! Love this place!!!

This was our first time bringing our yorkie «Carson «to the dashing pooch, we were very satisfied with our experience there. Our groomer Marley and the owner Lois went above and beyond to accommodate us. We will definitely be back !!

Wonderfully friendly staff, great hours, even open on Saturdays! My dog thoroughly enjoys coming here. After picking her up, she falls asleep in the car before we even get home! Long day of play! They also do a great job with my pups nails trimming. Highly recommend The Dashing Pooch!

This is the most amazing place! I did the self service wash which is an amazing deal. For $ 15 I was able to wash my dog is a raised tub with quality oatmeal shampoo, conditioner, eye wipes, and ear wipes. After the bath, i was allowed to blow dry him as well as use of clean towels. If that wasn’t enough of a selling point, when I was done, they did all the cleanup. Gone are the days of bringing my dog into my bath at home and straining my back bending over.

First visit & not my last. The personnel were very friendly and professional. Their services were very satisfactory and prices on the low end of my experiences with other groomers. Left a very nervous little dog and picked her up later happy and tail spinning. Nail trim, wash, haircut, conditioner and sanitary trim all done in less than an hour and light on my wallet.

Cute location that offers doggie «spa» services and doggie day care. I took my cockapoo for his first ever haircut, he looked so cute! They did a great job and I will be taking Logan back again for sure! Great pricing too! I liked that they offered a first time puppy package, great price and they want to make sure the dog/​puppy isn’t scared.

We have taken our Bishon to a number of groomers both in Tampa and in Cleveland, Ohio; and «The Dashing Pooch» did the best job by a mile. We have only had him bathed so far; but the bath results came out just as good/​if not better than when we pay more money to get him fully groomed elsewhere. The results where fantastic. He was clean, happy, and brushed perfectly. We couldn’t have been happier. And to top it off, his newly groomed look has remained for days and days after… well done and thanks!

I love how Lois the owner knows all of the dogs by first name. That just shows she cares so much about each client. Whenever we schedule our Morkie Mack to be groomed, 99% of the time he is paired with the same groomer (without me even
requesting it). I appreciate that aspect of going above and beyond not only for me, but for Mack too.

I have brought my dog in here twice before for her nails and was quite pleased. Today I brought her in and the woman that was cutting her nails was throwing her around as if she was an item on an assembly line and then cut her nail almost at the bottom and blood was pouring out as my dog (a therapy dog) was screaming in pain. This woman should not work with animals and if she acted like this with me there, imagine how she treats dogs when their owner isn’t there? I’m now on my way to the Vet since the nail will not stop bleeding and has already split down the middle. What a horrible woman and the fact they keep her, makes me suspect of this business. Please be aware when you bring your pets here, the treatment of my dog was borderline abuse and abuse that we’re expected to pay for…
*An update of my post* My dog bled all over my car seats and cried as I drove her to the Veterinarian after leaving this shop. This was done on New Year’s Eve and the Dashing Pooch was closing in a few hours and the way my dog was pulled, pushed and held to the ground, it was as if the woman was in a giant rush and cared more about finishing her day than she did about animals. This wasn’t a case of going too far down on the quick of a nail, this was taking almost the entire nail off and «manhandling» a therapy dog that has traveled all over in treatment of children and wouldn’t hurt anyone. I’ve seen rabid animals treated with more compassion. It was as if the employee saw my dog and decided that she looked mean and needed to be treated rough, even though we’d been there before.

I am so happy this place opened so close to our house!
Everyone in there is very friendly and the place itself is very cute.
I have been there for a couple of services for my pup, nail trimming, sanitary trims, pet basic bath/​groom and I bought a leather harness for my pup’s Halloween costume. It was actually cheaper through them than on Amazon where I was going to buy it.
Prices are excellent, same prices as Petco except you get amazing service and the people seem to really care about your dog.
Our pup’s hair was the softest it has ever been after he went here.
Excellent place and I will continue going here.

I am very pleased with Dashing Pooch. I have been to many groomers that have no care except for the mighty dollar. The ladies here are Amazing. they are very gentle and loving to all the pets brought in, they do FANTASTIC work. I first brought my dog Bella there and they did a wonderful job on her and the price was unbelievable. … so a few days late when my Husband found this little stray we decided to bring him in for a groom. I dont think hes ever been to a groomer. so with that said, he was relaxed with the ladies and they made him feel so good and special. Hes a happy little guy now, looking for a forever home… Thank you ladies

I have been taking my little LuLu there basically since they opened and I will continue to bring her there for as long as they are open! Lois and the rest of the staff are to pleasant to work with and talk to, and they always do such a great job. She is always so flexible with keeping lulu there, since sometimes I have to leave her a little longer than normal due to work. I also love that every week she post pictures of all the pets that have been in that week; it is just one of the many ways that shows that Lois truly cares about all our fur babies and understands how important they are to us also.
I did have a problem one time when Lois was out of town. I was very specific about describing how I wanted LuLu’s groom (twice I said she got bows) and when I picked her up, not only did she not have bows but she had her hair cut so I couldn’t even add them! This came after a not great experience in check in and when I called they didn’t seem so care much either. What makes all this better is that Lois made a point to call me and personally apologize, she really took ownership of the issue and took great measures to ensure we returned because our satisfaction is important to her, I understand that mistakes happen, but the way you handle them is what make your business great, and one I will continue to recommend.

This is the best groomer in South Tampa! My dog is 14 years old and was extremely comfortable with this groomer compared to previous grooming at commercial stores. The owner, Lois, is very personable and she is attentive to all of your dogs’ needs! Chloe groomed my dog, Romeo, who now looks like a superstar!
I took my oldest daughter there to wash Romeo and shampoo him several weeks ago. It was a great experience for her and she had so much fun !
I took time to do this review because it is a great place that everyone should know if looking for a dog groomer!
