BLACK MOLD GARDEN! The historic 50s guest building clearly needs toxic mold mitigation. The walls in the bathroom give way to the touch and upon showering, induce sneezing fits and rapid histamine response in MOST of my group that attended a recent event here. It’s a sick building.
Rooms are spacious, and beds are clean, but many rooms had appliances that did not work correctly or at all: lamps, AC units, refigerators, exposed plugs, shower heads… etc.
Pool area is beautiful and poolside bar is inexpensive, accomodating and of respectable quality. However, it seems they allow it to be a regular neighborhood hangout for parents and their literal hoards of rude, running, screaming, and splashing children. This pitted our group against the territorial «regulars» and made for a less than enjoyable experience. Don’t ask for a towel at the pool… It’s like asking for the world.
The café kitchen is located adjacent to the hallway that leads to the back buildings and had a distinct odor of an unsanitary or rotten sort. I was not brave enough to order the food. Thankfully, Chik-​Fil-​A is 24 steps from the lobby door.

We had a great experience! Friendly staff, great food, and nice pool. We will be back and will definitely recommend this to all our friends and family:)

This hotel could use some work. We stayed here one night, & that was too much. At first it seemed cute & tropical themed but everything was run down. Lamps were missing bulbs, there were dents in furniture, broken chair, etc. The rooms were also cooled by single air-​conditioners that are very noisy throughout the night. I had to pretend it was beach waves to try & fall asleep. When we first entered the room my husband was greeted by a bug we had to kill. The toilet also did not flush well & I was just awaiting it to fully clog & cause a problem. Other than that The hotel had a pool & restaurant. They also advertised spa services & had a little gym. I would advise not going here due to the poor sleep quality.

This hotel has a three story main building with rooms on the top floors. It’s nicely decorated and first impressions are strong when you see the building. Behind that is a strip of rooms with outdoor access, two floors, and located beside the pool and tiki bar.
We stayed in an Executive room on the third floor of the main building. The room was clean and looked nice but it was probably the smallest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. It has a kitchenette but that’s literally the nightstand for one person’s side of the bed. It’s just a single room and bathroom. I wondered if the outdoor, cheaper rooms were bigger.
The queen size bed looked awfully small to me and the comfort with two people was bad. The hotel never advertised any king size beds, but I’m not sure whether they had any. They have the in-​wall AC unit, which is always a bad thing, located about 6 feet from the bed. It was loud when running, while the room suffered from hot and cold swings all night. I was sweating in the bed badly and slept poorly. Our room had lots of windows being on the corner, which was nice, but the room can’t be darkened because they only have blinds and a couple windows have uncovered arches above them. The morning got very bright.
The only decent aspect was the bathroom. Good size and all tile. Too bad we don’t sleep in bathrooms. The toilet flushing was very bad though, probably broken, but hopefully not indicative of all the rooms.
My most important aspect of a hotel is sleep quality, and this place had me very tired.

Overall, i would not stay here again. There is no spa, our room never had hot water, the rooms are super outdated, and the bar at the pool was never open. Disappointing! But, the staff is very nice.

I know that I was late arriving to the hotel (11pm) but the front desk person was fairly incompetent and took almost 30 minutes to get me checked in with my reservation. Additionally, the owner of the hotel was in the bar right next to the reception area (drunkenly?) yelling and making a commotion.
Room itself was eh. Tile floors throughout don’t make for a comfortable stay and cause a lot of noise (audible from other rooms). Finally, my TV didn’t work the entire time and repeated calls to the front desk didn’t get them to actually fix it.
I won’t be back.

I wouldn’t wish this place on my worst enemy. On the outside it’s not so bad. The pool area is beautiful, and the lobby and indoor bar were pretty nice. The outside one wasn’t open while we were there. I will even say that the room would have been tolerable… if it was about half the price that we had to pay. I will say that the pictures on the website are NOT what you’re going to get.
Let’s talk about the room first. The bedding was not clean, the blanket had a large stain on it and the sheets were questionable. One of the people sleeping in the gross bed went down and got clean sheets to put on the bed. She put them on herself and then they slept without a blanket because they were not provided a clean one. One of the pillows on the other bed (my bed) had large brown spots all over it. The floor in the bathroom was sticky, we used pool towels all weekend because they were never replenished until our last day, and there were only 2 working outlets in the entire room, one in the bathroom and one that the light bar was plugged into for the TV, fridge, and microwave. One of the 2 lights didn’t have a bulb. The overhead light only had 2 working bulbs. The shower never got overly warm.
This is only the tip of the iceburg. Now lets get into the crooked side of the hotel. From night one multiple people in our large group (we were giving this hotel a ton of money already) were getting extra charges showing up on their credit cards. I’m talking double the costs of the rooms, multiple times, etc.
We were down there on business and to bond with our teams and this hotel absolutely ruined that for us as most of the time people were down at the front desk trying to get issues straightened out or worrying about if they had money to function since the hotel took so much extra. We are still feeling the effects and people are still straightening out financials which doesn’t seem to be going too well since the Manager is ignoring phone calls. Cash was paid for portions of rooms, that money has vanished into thin air, I assume into the pockets of an employee, and the charges are being put on the retainer cards instead. I personally talked to a VERY helpful individual, he was ready to take a look at the invoices for our room and see what happened, then all of the sudden I wasn’t getting responses any more. Now the accountant conveniently won’t be in for 3 days. And yes I said INVOICES, plural. There are 2 totally different invoices for our room with 2 completely different RATES! One also showed a full nights charge for the day we checked out and the room was empty! Absolutely ridiculous. How is this place still open and how does it have such a high rating?!

I arrived at the Tahitian Inn with an open mind. I had read some mixed reviews and wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. I booked a ‘King Cabana’ for one night through Orbitz. Upon arrival, I was pleased with how quaint and charming the hotel looked from the outside. The gentleman at the front desk was nice and had me to my room within a few minutes. I like how the floors have tile; that definitely made the room feel a lot cleaner than those with carpets. The room itself was large and spacious. I was less than thrilled with the bathroom, which is in need of a major update. What really freaked me out was having to kill two cockroaches whilst in the bathroom. That really killed the ‘Florida Charm’ and bumped the star rating down. I don’t think I’ll be returning to the Tahitian Inn… It was nice to try a new, locally owned hotel… but I’ll probably just stick to a Hilton or something similar moving forward.

Very nice place to stay and good location not too far from most of the attractions. Nice pool area.

So sad. This used to our «go to» spot for breakfast on the weekends. It slowly got worse and worse and we stopped going. It has probably been a year. so we said. let’s give it a try. We did. and here are the results. First clue.9 am on a Saturday and the place was empty. Used to have lines waiting. Waitress sat us and asked what we wanted to drink. We asked for two waters. 20 minutes later. after being told once she hadn’t forgotten us. and still no water. we left. Wasn’t willing to have breakfast be a two hour ordeal. Sad. Won’t be back as this was pretty much the final breakup. Joey needs to either sell or get someone to manage the place properly.

This place has all the essentials. Nice pool, friendly staff, great happy hour. What more can you ask for? Close enough to the action that a quick über ride is all you need. Or a walk if you want.

Booked king got double beds. The king room was not ready. The bathroom has no shower but a tub. Sux when you dont get what you paid for. The pool was packed with kids. The tiki bar has a full liqure bar. They offer pool towels but they were dirty with gross stains.
Dont have a room near pool since the do play music.
The room was spacious. Has no safe so had to lug with my belongings through out entire vacation. The desk chair legs are filthy dirty. The shower head was broken and towels are paper thin.
I recommend if you have kids and your on a tight budget.

Called the front desk and asked for a key to be brought to me, as I had lost mine. I was told it would be «a few minutes». After 45 minutes, I called back. «It’ll be a few minutes». Exasperated sigh. CLICK. Maintenance guy brought the key in an actual few minutes this time. I asked him if there was a manager on property. Yep. Exasperated Sigh Just Hung Up On Me «Lady» is the manager. What the hell is going on here?

This was a very nice hotel. The front office staff was very nice, even the cute little dog that works behind the desk. I loved that there was no gross carpet in the room and all tile. They had a coffee maker in the room but only had decaf which was the only problem we had. We would have contacted the office but we were in too much of a time crunch.

If you are budgetminded and dont mind all the special ambiance an older hotel has to offer, bring your bathing suit and your Zyrtec and you will be fine. It’s an older hotel that has a beautiful foyer with beautiful antiques. We were given a room in the main building away from the pool. Evidently we are old now and ‘don’t need to hear those young whipper-​snapper punks’ near the pool.
The room is nice, bed is great. The rooms are great is you are staying for a few days. Small frig. Microwave and coffee…
Some of cons:
Smells of mold and mildew. Allergies, go elsewhere
Gym on the second floor. Womens wet sauna broken.
Restaurant was disappointing.

Plenty of parking.
Waaaaaaaaaaaah! Please fix the sauna so I can back!

I was VERY skeptical about this place from the previous reviews but I am surprisingly exceptionally happy with the hotel, staff, and price I paid each night. I didn’t want to chance it so I upgraded from the basic room to the executive queen costing a mere $ 15 total extra. The room is very well kept, spacious, clean, contains a fridge, sink, microwave, and small porch as well as a jetted tub and shower. The staff were friendly and check in was a breeze. They even gave us a complimentary late checkout. The shuttle to the airport was easy and nice. The only drawback is that the hotel lobby and floor smelled odd. It does look run down, but you can tell they have re done the hotel and used modern furniture and clean linens. Bed was amazing, I have no complaints for paying under $ 100 a night !

Why five stars?
I was skeptical about coming here at first… Seeing previous bad reviews I wasn’t sure what I got myself into… I have a feeling a lot of the bad reviews came from the «cheap rooms». For 18 more dollars I got an executive room which was gorgeous… It was clean and modern with some Florida «Inn» charm. The television was a flat screen and had tile flooring… They supply you with a microwave and refrigerator as well as plenty of storage space if you are staying a while. The bed was comfortable as well. In my bathroom I had a shower and whirlpool tub. I read from previous reviews that this was a loud hotel… Not my experience at all! I slept very soundly :).
The pool was very retro cool and tranquil and I loved the tiki bar. Josh was my bartender and he was friendly and efficient. I was never without a marg in my hand.
I had breakfast at the café and it was excellent. I had Stephanie as my server and she was very attentive and helpful. The menu was diverse and had a little something for everyone. I like their sort of Greek theme to it.
All in all I’m hooked… This place is a gem and I love the historical significance of it. It’s been around since the 50’s and has the charm you don’t get with corporate chains. They have made updates to the hotel without destroying the integrity… One word of advice is pay 18 more dollars to get the executive room, it will be worth it.

Stay away! Old hotel rooms with loud air conditioning, loud, drunk guests, skimpy on towels, soap, shampoo, etc.
Felt unsafe since latch on door was broken but maintenance said it was fine. Worried because loud people passed by our room at night.
Shower had small clumps of hair that you couldn’t see until you ran shower. Front desk was far from room — car drive — so when room keys didn’t work 2 days had to drive to get them fixed.

For the price and location, great deal. Service was amazing. Thw breakfast was great even though it’s NOT COMPLIMENTARY, but the options are vast.
PLUS POINT: GYM & STEAM ROOM!!!
The room’s TV is HDMI friendly and I enjoyed the stay :)
I stayed to take an exam in Tampa and slept WONDERFULLY :)

It’s easier to book a room at the W than it is here especially if your dealing with, I believe his name was Tye or Tai. He was HORRIBLE.
It is an incredibly noisy hotel. All hours of the night and day.
LOTS of kids running around on the weekends. If your looking for a spot to maybe relax or maybe get some sleep look elsewhere. Café is decent but was closed randomly. Cappuccino machine was broken and has been for several days now. And maids were knocking on the door at 8am.
The pool bartender was awesome and the blonde front desk lady was great until having to deal with the Tye guy (tall brunette) who claimed that the blonde woman who originally helped (and was amazing) me didn’t know what she was doing and ended up taking 1hr 45min to book my room.
