I have always been really careful about car places but I was pleasantly surprised when I went to this store. I went to repair a flat on my new car. Brian was so helpful and thorough both on the phone when I booked my appointment as well as when I arrived. Him and Joe were quick to assist me when I walked in. I was in and out of there in less than an hour. The service was reasonably priced so that made my experience so much better. Great place! Will recommend it to my friends!

Larry and his team are amazingly wonderful. I used and trusted McGee in Tallahassee, so when I moved to Tampa five years ago, the Sheldon Road store was around the corner from me, and switching over was a breeze. Recently I moved to the east side of Tampa, it takes about 12 miles to get back to Sheldon Road, but it is well worth it. When I started the car last Friday, an engine light came on, which caused me to catastrophize and worry. i am a worrier. Larry calmed me down and when it was safe to drive, I headed across to this McGee team. The indicator light turned out to be a simple fix, and, being a regular there, I never saw it on an invoice. The car was overdue for some routine maintenance, and since I believe in preventive care, authorized the work. The staff is always professional, friendly, honest, and tells you what you need now and what can wait. There was a place for lunch within walking distance. All the service was done with enough time to gt to my appointments. My worry frown turned into s smile. The car runs much better. Thanks, folks at Sheldon.

Super friendly staff, fast service, and not to mention the most honest mechanic shop I’ve come across in my lifetime! If you need something serviced I advise coming here first. They definitely have my business!!!

So, I saw McGee offering a coupon through
, and I’ve read the good reviews they have on Google Maps, so I decided to buy it.
I went in, scheduled an appointment after a few days, the person who took it was very pleasant and friendly.
On the day of the appointment, I came in on time and my car was quickly taken to service. The service does take a bit longer than other places in general, but they have a waiting area. Nothing fancy, just some chairs and a TV, and some coffee too. They seem very trustworthy. I did not mind the wait, as it’s an oil change not a gas refill.
I told the person who was helping me that my car had a certain amount of miles, and therefore certain things might be needed to get replaced. I suggested buying new parts and maybe get it here to get them installed. He told me they will see what needs to be replaced.
After the service finished, there were some parts that might need to be replaced just in case, because of the mileage on the car. However, he did not push things or tried to sell me anything, which I truly appreciated. He just gave me the condition on my vehicle, and did not try to act like a know-​it-​all and throw some expensive parts/​labor estimates like everyone does.
Bottom line: I highly recommend them, and I will probably buy another coupon to save for the next oil change. Extremely friendly and pleasant staff, very good service. After all the scams that are around in Tampa, and to be honest everywhere else too, it’s really nice to find a good place like this one. Overall experience: A definite 5 stars!

Always there to help and guide you the right way — Larry and Joe continue to excel in customer service, and the mechanics continue to help us both with our Fleet vehicle and a used car that seems to have some challenges.

I’ve been coming here on and off for close to 10 years and the manager Larry has been here all that time!
They are always honest and fair, and do great work super fast! They even loaned me the shop vehicle when my car had to be there almost all day.
I highly recommend them for everything from oil change to major work, and they have also given great outside recommendations for body work (which they don’t do here).
