Description

Specialties

Personal injury law involves a person that has been injured as a result of the negligence or wrongdoing of another person, company, government agency, or other entity. The injured person is legally entitled to receive compensation for their damages.

Business disputes are common and costly to resolve. A legal consultant will help the business owner explore the most cost effective way to resolve the dispute, whether through court proceedings (i.e. litigation) or an alternative means (i.e. mediation or arbitration). A business owner that regularly consults with their legal consultant may avoid most disputes all together.

Criminal law is the body of law that relates to crimes. Persons convicted of a crime may be incarcerated, fined, or both.

An insurance claim starts when the insured policy holder makes a formal request to their insurance company to extend coverage pursuant to the terms of the insurance policy. Insurance claims are reviewed by the company for their validity and then paid out to the insured once approved.

Edgar G.

Business Owner

Attorney Edgar J. Guzman is a proud Tampa native.

Edgar graduated from Christ the King Catholic School, Jesuit High School, University of South Florida, University of Tampa, and then moved to Michigan in order to attend the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Edgar also grew up playing baseball and creating unforgettable bonds with the families at West Tampa Little League.

While in college, Edgar was blessed when he met his wife on a blind date. Edgar and his wife have also been blessed with six beautiful children.

Edgar, a first generation American, personally knows the challenges a family faces in a new country.

Edgar’s father, Gerardo L. Guzman, came to Tampa in 1969 from Venezuela to seek a higher education, while his mother, Maria A. Pi, came from Cuba in 1961 with her widowed mother seeking freedom from an oppressive government. Listening to the stories of the land left behind and observing the hardships his family faced all served as life lessons that molded Edgar as a person.
