I cannot believe we did not join Freedom Boat Club sooner! My husband has been wanting to buy a boat for years, but he knows that the upkeep and storage can be extremely expensive. When he heard about the Freedom Boat Club in Tampa he immediately wanted to join, but I was a little more hesitant. What are the monthly dues and what is included? Will we be able to reserve the boat when we want to? So I went away for a business trip back in September and came home a few days later to find out that we were Freedom Boat Club members… Before I filed for a divorce I decided to hear out my husband and let him explain the membership details. The monthly fees were actually cheaper than I expected. We don’t pay for any wear and tear, repairs, or storage. The only thing we pay for outside our monthly dues is to fill up the boat with gas when we return the boat. We also tip the employees since they are cleaning the boat for us. So here is how the membership works: Each month we have unlimited access to the boats as long as the fleet is not completely reserved. Members are allowed to reserve up to three boats at a time. Each time you use your reservation you are able to book a new reservation. If a day is fully booked you can put yourself on the waiting list just in case someone cancels their boat reservation or brings the boat back early.(You’d be surprised how often this happens.) None of the boats from the Freedom Boat Club are more than three years old and many of the boats are 2015 models. The fleet includes a versatile variety of fishing boats, deck boats, bowriders, pontoons, sailboats and cruisers. You can bring up to ten people on most of the boats. Members are allowed to bring their friends, family, co-workers, or clients with them on boating and fishing adventures. You can even bring your furry friends on the boat, but you will want to purchase a life jacket for your pet. We have only been members for a month now, but we have been having an absolute blast boating with Freedom Boat Club! We have already taken out the boat three times in the last four weeks so we have managed to book a boat every weekend except for the first week we joined.(It rained that weekend.) We have taken our friends, family, and even our fur baby on the boat. Everyone has enjoyed swimming, picnicking, and suntanning on the boat. When the weather gets too chilly to swim we may just take the boat out for lunches to restaurants or bars with docks. If you love to boat, but don’t want to deal with maintaining and storing a boat I highly recommend joining the Freedom Boat Club!
