I have a horrible back & can’t even begin to count the number of massages I get a year. This is the first place that upon my first visit, I felt excited to return to. I don’t care about fancy décor & surroundings. While everything is clean & simply decorated, the quality is where it should be, in the therapists! Angel is amazing. He listens about problem areas & works to find solutions. Pricing is fair with excellent service!

This place was great. I booked their weekday special for a 1 hour relaxation massage and facial for $ 50. What a great deal! Even if the service had been average (which it wasn’t).
The massage therapist I saw, Scott, was great. He spent a few minutes at the beginning asking about trouble areas and what kind of pressure I preferred. By the end I was completely relaxed and ready for the facial.
Ana, the esthetician, was also fantastic! I upgraded to the moisturizing facial which included extractions. When I walked out of the room my skin felt so soft and smooth.
I would completely recommend going here to anyone! I can’t wait to go back :)

I have had many many massages; my experience with Scott was wonderful. I weirdly have never had a male masseuse and he made me feel very comfortable right away. I ended up getting a deep tissue massage due to a pulled muscle. He went slow and talked to me to make sure it wasn’t too much pressure. I don’t like my arms massaged and he remembered to not touch them lol. I can’t say enough positive things about my massage.

I got a gift certificate for here so I went for an 80 minute deep tissue massage. Amanda was my massage therapist and she was fantastic. She focused on the areas that I asked her to. I was really happy with her. The place is hidden behind a strip plaza but easy enough to find. It was quiet for a Saturday, very clean and as far as the experience goes, everything went smoothly. I would definitely see her again.

$ 30 got me an hour massage, the first visit (at a different location) I figured I just got lucky as typically this would cost me min $ 75. After a few more massages and even trying a facial I have been happy. In fact I only tried a facial because I learned about a $ 50 combo for an hour massage and facial.
The staff has been great and personable. 5 stars…

Got a relaxation massage with hot stones and peppermint scalp treatment by Amanda and I left there feeling like melted butter! The front desk staff was very friendly and the prices are affordable. I will definitely be coming back here!

Let me preface this by saying I’ve been to Essentials a few times before and had a great experience. However, my last visit was not pleasant. I had an appointment for a 50 minute facial, at 11a, with a different esthetician than my previous visits. By the time I got settled and she began the service it was about 11:02, which wasn’t of concern at the time. During the treatment, she seemed very rushed and was quite rough on my skin. She tried to up sell me on products and treatments for the majority of the facial. I’m used to the esthetician making recommendations at the end, but not during the entire service. When she said the service was over, I thought it seemed quick, but wasn’t sure of the time, and to be honest I was kind of happy to be done with her. Once I got up, I checked the time and it was 11:35. My 50 minute facial turned out to only be 33 minutes. This was definitely not the relaxing experience I hope for, and had received in the past. I voiced my frustrations to the front desk girl when she asked how it was. Although she didn’t seem interested in what I had to say. She mentioned that she would have someone call me however, I’ve yet to receive that phone call. I don’t think I’ll be returning, even though I have a gift card with funds remaining.

Buyer Beware! I purchased two $ 100 gift certificates for family members for Christmas. In the mêlée of Christmas morning one of of the gift certificates was lost — -white plastic card in a white envelope. When our AMEX bill arrived we discovered the charge but could not find the card. The manager explained that they have no way to trace a gift certificate and would not do a thing to make matters «right». So I am out $ 100 due to a very poor management system even though the receptionist who sold me the gift certificates remembered the transaction and the $ 200+ to Essentials was clearly stated on my AMEX statement.
VERY, VERY, VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Buyer Beware!

This is only my 2^nd time writing a review on Unilocal,and I’m sorry to say it’s not due to a positive experience. I just got home after scheduling a «one hour deep tissue massage.» I was massaged for less than 50 minutes. Before I laid on the massage table, I looked at the clock in the room. It was 5:04. The therapist came in after another minute or 2. When I got up from the table, the same clock read 5:54. I hate to be negative but as far as deep tissues go, this was probably my worst (and I get 3 – 4 massages a year for the past 12 – 14 years). Probably 5 – 6 minutes of the less than 50 minute «massage» consisted of a hot towel being pressed into my upper back, lower back, and feet. My therapist did not seem to be aware of anatomy, as the deep tissue massage primarily consisted of pressing her forearm into my scapulae, ribs, and hip bones (which I did inform them was painful). I was assured by the person with whom I made the appointment, that this therapist was able to do deep pressure well, at the time that I scheduled the appointment. I had a gift card, so I wouldn’t mind waiting for a time when someone who could have provided good deep pressure was available. Twice, I had to ask the therapist to apply more pressure. I understand that I was their last appointment of the day, but if someone isn’t able to provide a good deep tissue massage at that time of day, I’d rather be made aware and schedule it for another time. I’m glad that I had a gift card, because, would I have had to pay for this, I would’ve been much more upset. I left feeling like I needed more of a massage than I needed when I entered. It was a very disappointing experience. The woman whom I paid asked if I wanted for her to inform the manager, as she could tell I wasn’t happy, but I did not want to put down the person who was within an earshot of our conversation, so I declined. I am reluctant to share the name of the therapist because I do not want to bash anyone. This was just a very disappointing experience and I doubt I’d go back, which was a bummer because the location is very close to home and many of the reviews I read beforehand were so positive. I recommend for those interested in getting a good deep tissue from here, to look through the others’ recommendations and schedule with those therapists, specifically. So disappointed.

If you go ask for Suzanne. She is wonderful and I have been going to her for years. Clean and friendly staff too. Very affordable!

I have been going to Essentials Massage in Westchase for several years now I always get the best massages no matter who is giving me the massage. Today I went in and got a 90 minute massage from Robert he really was amazing my back was very tight and he gave me a great deep tissue massage he was make sure I was comfortable and had a roller under my knee’s for back support. D’Angelo at the front desk was very nice. She was very nice when I made the appointment and she was very attentive to me when I checked in and paid at the end.
They have plenty of fresh water infused with lemons & cucumbers. You cannot beat the price, but besides that the massages are excellent! Now I will not have to go to any high priced hotels a massage places. I would highly recommend this place.

Definitely request Robert as your massage therapist. He has amazing massage skills. Sometimes it can be awkward having a male Massage Therapist, not with Robert. His professionalism and thoroughness makes you feel 100% at ease. I will continue to have Robert as my Therapist.

I’ve been going here regularly to see Crystal since my first massage with her in January. Despite what other reviewers have stated about the front desk staff, I have always had very pleasant and professional people that welcome me as soon as I walk in the door. As a teacher, it’s hard to beat a $ 25 massage special (on Tuesdays for relaxation massages), and Crystal is always able to make my muscles happy again! I’ve been to Thailand and Vietnam and had massages in both countries, but the best massages in my opinion are Crystal’s! I would highly recommend her services.

I was able to book a last min appointment one day when I was having back problems. I had read some bad reviews on front staff being unprofessional, but did not experience this upon arrival. They were very accommodating even when booking last min. Crystal was professional and we’ll trained. I will choose this spa again in the future because they have great daily specials. I would also like to point out that the assistant manager followed up with my visit and asked if everything was good with my measage. This is great to see that management cares about the image of the spa.

If there was an option to give zero stars, I would. We schedule an appointments days in advanced only to have it canceled a few hours before I was supposed to be there. So I agreed to reschedule from a massage to a facial only to find out upon arrival that the therapist just quit. How can anyone run a business this way! They will be out of business in no time.

I regularly come here about once a month for back issues and to help treat headaches. I always request Christine. She’s the best hands down. Professional nice and always helps me feel better. I definitely recommend essentials and especially Christine.

I got a postcard in the mail advertising a $ 25.00 massage. The only disclaimer was that it needs to be used within 90 days. So, I made an appointment and I when I presented my coupon to the lady, she said that it only applies to Tuesdays. I told her that it doesn’t say that anywhere on the postcard and she responded with something along the lines that they forgot to put that on there. Any respectable business would have honored my completely valid postcard/​coupon. Shameful. The only reason I give 2 stars and not 1 star is because this place does offer a great massage at a great price.

This is one of the worst massage organizations I’ve ever had the displeasure of going to.
I scheduled an appointment for 1PM on the dot and ended up waiting twenty minutes (15 of which were past my appointment time) without anyone in the organization saying a word to me after I checked in. Not even a simple «I’m sorry, the masseuse is running behind but she’ll be with you shortly, is that okay?»
The girl behind the counter did have time to ramble on about her adventures in muggy Korea with one of her coworkers though.
So if you’re looking for a staff of unprofessionals that complain while making busy customers wait in a disgustingly perfumed and poorly-​decorated waiting area, then this is the establishment for you!
For the rest of us that have schedules and commitments, I thoroughly encourage that this place be avoided at all possible costs.

What a completely different experience from my first visit.
First off, the young lady working the front desk was professional, sweet, smart and most importantly NOT playing rap music on her cell phone while chuckling with her friend.
For my massage I had Sarah. She was really good. Thorough, asked what areas I wanted her to focus on and kept me warm the entire time.
This location also offers manis and pedis but only on Sundays. Ill definitely be back one Sunday for a massage and finish the day with a mani and pedi.
