I’ve been trying to schedule an appointment with Academic Alliance for a routine skin check. I’ve spent more than an hour on hold on the phone, and sent two unanswered emails through their online contact form. If this provider can’t find the time to communicate with you when you’re looking to become a new patient, how can they expect you to trust them with your care?

Waited over 50 minutes for my appointment. The front office staff does not seem to really care. Found out that the they never put my chart in the«ready to be seen» pile. Instead of an apology an outright lie came out of their mouths saying I am next. I am next because they just put my file in the empty holder; no one else was in the waiting room. I found this out when I complained to the nurse. The office manager was conveniently in a meeting. I have been going there for almost two decades. I love the doctors and PAs but their office manager and staff make it less than a desirable experience.

We will not return. Haven’t made it into the doctor yet. However, I don’t believe an hour wait is a great start! When I approached the front desk, their reply is, ‘we have three doctors.’ What exactly does that mean? Perhaps a more logical explanation would help me understand why we are still waiting.

I have been struggling with stubborn acne on my face for about a year now. After trying anything and everything over the counter that I could think of(from Pro-activ to Cetaphil) I finally decided to go see a dermatologist. My doctor recommended Academic Alliance in Dermatology. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical at first… new doctors make me nervous. I scheduled an appt. for the early morning(which was perfect timing) and waited no more than 10 minutes. I was seen by Maria Mosos and her assistant Lise. I asked her questions about other skin conditions as well as my acne and she recommended a skin check. She checked me from head to toe and removed two moles that were discolored and oddly shaped to get tested. Maria Moses explained the potential causes of my acne and different forms of medication to treat it. She was respectful when I asked her about cost, prescribing me generic brands for the medicine that were available. She was very attentive to all of my questions and needs. She was also very nice! I would recommend Maria Moses to anyone seeking dermatology care. The only reason I give this place a 4 out of 5 stars is the cost is a little high, but so far, I believe it is worth the care. Thank you Maria and Academic Alliance in Dermatology!

I’ve been going here about 4 years and no matter what service I have needed, it’s been excellent and I’ve had good results. I had issues with my face as well as some cosmetic procedures. The staff is informative and friendly. They make you feel like they are there to help and not just to make money. I would definitely recommend them!

I have been to this office about 4 years ago when I had insurance. Recently, I needed to see a dermatologist but didn’t have regular health insurance and I asked them for what there general office visit is out of pocket would cost. They could not tell me, they said it varies depending on the condition. I was not asking them on a procedure just an office visit. The lady on the phone sounded incompetents and if someone doesn’t know what their office visit price is then they are going to get stuck with a large bill after they have seen the doctor. That’s unsacred. They don’t do payment plans and you have to pay the total before you leave. Someone could get stuck with a large bill they are not ready for. need to get there act together.

I went here on a recommendation from my sister but didn’t see the same doc she saw because I couldn’t get in with her. I wound up seeing a PA named Patrick Duffy and he was awesome. The assistant and the PA were thorough and very helpful. Plus they were super nice and laughed at my skin jokes. I’d recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Found myself in need of a dermatologist last week and this practice was recommended by the staff at my GP’s office. I was able to make an appointment for the same week(Friday) and then even change it to make it earlier in the week(Thursday). The office staff was very friendly and helpful. I didn’t have to wait long to be called back into a room. My appointment was with Dr. Markum and I found her to be very thorough and comforting. They asked if I wanted a full body exam in addition to the problem exam I was scheduled for. Her nurse was also very sweet and gentle, even when giving a shot. Dr. Markum took a biopsy which I could not even feel at all. The doctor and staff made sure I understood what I was being told, prescription information, and scheduled a follow up. One of the Rx I was written was a cream that cost $ 1000. After insurance it would have been close to $ 850! Thankfully, Dr. M and her nurse gave me a coupon so I only had to pay $ 20. Very respectful of patients needs and budget. So far, I am quite impressed with this practice.

OK, So I’m that not into going to the doctor and I’m really not into skin problems. But I do think this place is pretty good. This place was recommended by another doctor who told me that this is where all of her staff goes. The staff has always been nice and the doctors and nurse practitioners have been knowledgeable and helpful. There are obviously tons of derm options around Tampa, but if this place is reasonably close, I’d say go for it.
