Tampa Hybrids is the most honest, knowledgeable and organized Hybrid dealer in town. After years of conducting business with Todd, I can say that he is always helpful, insightful and one of the best in the business. After purchasing multiple vehicles from him, I can say from experience that Tampa Hybrids will never leave you disappointed.

I called Todd to ask about Prius battery cells. This guy is truly an honest, good solid guy. I didn’t think that existed in the auto dealership world. Without Todd there is no Tampa Hybrid.
I recently went to Todd’s Prius-​heaven of a dealership with my father Al, so that he can take a look at my Prius. I was worried that the few noises I was hearing was an ominous sign of a costly repair.
Here are some bullet points I noted during my experience with Todd:

In a world filled with charlatans who prey on exacerbating ones doubts and fears about a car’s need for repair, Todd was a breath of fresh air.
He took the time to look under the hood, inspect the filters, and even took it for a test drive to see how well the hybrid battery was working. As a new Prius owner, I couldn’t differentiate the sound of the ABS pump to that of the radiator. He addressed my concerns over certain noises I’ve overhead my Prius make. Todd could have easily convinced me that the sounds I heard was due to my car’s horrible condition, and that it needed immediate repair, but he didn’t. He advised me that my Water pump may be in need of replacing soon, but that it wasn’t a critical repair. That I need to get new spark plugs at 100,000 miles. Only Toyota’s Super Long Life coolant should be used for the car, and that the whistling I heard while driving stemmed from a simple fix with my driver’s side mirror. You can ask anything about the Toyota Prius, and this man has the answer!
This was the kind of service one would enjoy if I purchased my Prius from his dealership, yet I didn’t! He was generous enough to invest a solid hour of his busy schedule to take a look at my Prius, and when my father asked what we owed him, Todd simply replied by saying «Your payment would be in the form of making me your mechanic whenever your Prius needs servicing.» Needless to say, he’s my go to guy!
On an equally positive side note, his office was remarkably immaculate. One expects a dealer’s office to be fraught with clutter, dingy, and in desperate need of attention; but his Unilocal!photos are true to life. His office is equal to his advice: uncluttered, transparent, and trustworthy.
I can tell I made the perfect decision in pursuing a Prius as my first car, because this car was so incredibly well crafted, or «bullet-​proof» as Todd says, that it can illicit the very passion required to drive a man like Todd to open a Prius-​only dealership. One would be hard pressed in locating the equivalent in another make and model.
Thank God I didn’t go for a Volkswagen Diesel!

Todd is the real deal. A true expert who is obviously passionate about his product and service.
We purchases a used Prius from him, and shortly after driving it off the lot, a check engine light came on. Took it back, and he found that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. He did it free of charge and we were on our way.
This is amazing to me because 1) the car was purchased as-​is and Todd had no responsibility to fix the problem and 2) a catalytic converter is not a cheap fix. He really showed his dedication to quality and service with this, and we’ll definitely be going back to him in the future.

Shopping for a used car at Tampa Hybrids was… wait for it… fun, relaxing, a pleasure and great value! Didn’t expect to hear that about a car sales lot, did you?
Buying a car is not my favorite activity. I don’t like pushy salespeople, negotiating prices, and closings that take hours to complete. That is why I really liked my experience with Todd at Tampa Hybrid. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The car was priced under market according to
, and looked like new. Perhaps the best part was a unique ‘gift’ that Todd had specially made for his customers (read on to find out!)
Todd, who is the owner/​salesman/​technical guru greeted us warmly. The moment we entered the garage, I literally walked past the car to look at the workbenches filled with hybrid batteries in various stages of repair. As I am curious about the hybrid battery (who isn’t?), Todd gave me a detailed explanation of how the batteries worked, how long they last, what can cause them to fail, and how to keep them young practically forever with a special charger. I was impressed with his professionalism and detailed knowledge about the Prius.
Lets just say that Todd is extremely detail-​oriented, which explains the tidyness of just about everything at Tampa Hybrids. He showed us how to check a car for repainting by feeling for tape seams in the door jams. He showed us where the VIN tags are attached to each body panel and door — they all matched. We looked at the engine for signs of corrosion. He took the time to show me a car that had been in salt conditions and the difference was apparent. He explained how the construction of the tires can affect MPG. I am probably forgetting a bunch of other things he showed us.
He invited us to sit in the car while he demonstrated the communications and entertainment features. I was expecting a cursory overview, but this was not the case. He was patient and thorough. Somehow cars have become rolling computers!
I must admit that I am spoiled when it comes to buying cars. I expect a no-​stress, quick closing. Todd delivered here as well. There is no negotiation which helps, the inventory is kept current on the website and the price is clearly listed there as well. There is the obligatory dealer fee, but its relatively low at $ 400. After signing a several required papers, I was pleasantly surprised to see a ‘privacy’ agreement where Todd pledges to secure our personal information.
So what is the mystery gift? Todd offered us a custom crafted real leather smart-​key pouch. It fits the Prius key perfectly and has a very solid shank and carabiner type clasp that can be clipped to a belt or a keyring. You can’t buy this on E-​Bay! Its subtly embossed with the business name but unless you are looking carefully its virtually invisible by design.
The leather key pouch exemplifies what I like about Todd and Tampa Hybrids. Its all about attention to details here. I am thrilled with my new-​used car, and I am delighted to have met Todd. I am planning to have him set up my battery-​restoring gizmo (from

Just a little over a year ago I was in the market for used hybrid to use as a daily driver for my 30 mile commute between where I live in Carrollwood and where I work in New Port Richey. I shopped online and at dealers between both ends of my commute and both types of searches kept leading me back to Tampa Hybrids. If you want a used hybrid, or more specifically a used Prius; Todd at Tampa Hybrids simply has the best assortment of cars to choose from.
As a collector of sports cars I’ve had the pleasure and displeasure over the years or buying cars from all sorts of individuals and dealers; both big and small. Having a particular negative notion about buying from small used car dealerships I walked into Tampa Hybrids ready for the worse and instead found the best. Putting a purchase deal together with Todd was the easiest most laid back buying experience I’ve ever had. Friendly and thorough without being pushy Todd took the time to go over his entire inventory and then in detail the particular late model Prius I was most interested in.
After taking a test drive he showed me how everything on the car worked, came apart and what areas are often problematic. I was thoroughly impressed to say the least. When I presented Todd with my pre-​approval paperwork from my local credit union he was equally knowledgeable and ready to help. A smooth transaction, I went home that evening with my new Prius. Before leaving Todd reminded me of his bumper to bumper warranty for the first thousand miles on the car.
A few days later after making a trip with my wife to North Florida on our return home something didn’t seem right… The Prius was driving rough and did not want to go over 40mph due to the traction control system limiting it. Immediately thinking it to be a tire or wheel problem and remembering Todd’s warranty we took the Prius over to Todd’s shop. Todd checked out the car and drove it a bit, and felt there was a problem or defect with the front passenger side tire and it needed to be replaced. Todd then offered to take the Prius to my tire shop of choice and he would replace the tire or if I wanted he would split the cost of just replacing all four tires with me. I took him up on that offer and and he took care of the rest, even making sure my wife had a way back to work.
Friendly, earnest, accommodating and a respectable business owner Todd at Tampa Hybrids is willing to go that extra mile to not only get your sale but make sure you are happy with the car you have purchased from him. Highly recommended to anyone shopping for a used hybrid.

I bought my Prius from Todd almost two years ago, and took it to him recently for a repair. He’s as far from the stereotype of a car salesman as you can get, he’s extremely honest and fair and straight-​forward. He knows what he’s doing, has the expertise, and genuinely believes in his product, so he doesn’t have to bullshit anyone. If you’re considering a Prius, don’t get it anywhere else. If you already have a Prius and need repairs, it was a quarter of the cost of what the Toyota dealership wanted to charge me. Definitely nothing but positive experiences with Tampa Hybrids.

Tampa Hybrids is a lifesaver! I took my 2007 Prius to Tampa Hybrid after three warning lights appeared (master warning light, brake system warning light, and malfunction indicator lamp). Immediately, I could tell Todd was very knowledgeable and honest. Todd had my car up and running promptly and also replaced two HID headlights, all at a very affordable price. Thanks to him and his work, my Prius’ MPG is up. He isn’t your typical pushy auto repair or sale person. It’s great because you know you won’t get taken for all your money. Todd even contacted me after the work was done to make sure my car was running smoothly. HIGHLY recommended for anyone who owns a Prius or is in the market for one. I know I will be back once I’m ready for another Prius.

I purchased a 2007 Prius from Tampa Hybrids a couple months ago and couldn’t be happier. Todd, the owner, struck me as honest, which was confirmed when he sent me a check for a $ 12 overpayment I made for the title. He had a large selection of cars and I drove away with the one I spotted in one of his craigslist ads. He even gave me a ride to the rental car place so I could return the rental.

Great service! Honest owner that’s been in the car business and was recommended to me by a trusted friend, who is also in the car business. I went here to buy a Prius without even going to a large dealer. Their prices can’t be beat and you can tell the quality is good. I am recommending them to all of my friends!

There really is such a thing as an honest used car dealer. I bought a 2007 Prius from Todd a year ago and it has been the best car buying experience in my life. Not only is the car flawless, but Todd has been available to help us and answer questions whatever and whenever we needed it. You’ll get more than you expect. I could not be happier.
