All items are made with the finest ingredients, including Dietz & Watson Premium meats, fresh-​baked Otis Spunkmeier cookies, Ghirardelli’s Chocolates, Barnie’s Coffee, and fresh vegetables from local suppliers delivered throughout the week.

Tropical Smoothie Café also offers Elite Catering services for office parties, meetings, seminars, pre-​wedding functions, promotional and holiday events, birthday parties, and much, much more. Elite Catering services offer customized packages designed to meet your needs and budget, on time delivery and on-​site setup.

History

Established in 1999.

We’ve been making and serving fresh food for as long as we can remember. Even before we opened our first café, we served fresh fruit smoothies from a stand on a Florida beach. We’ve come a long way since then but we’ve remained true to our early days of pure, wholesome food.

In 1997, we opened our first restaurant in Tallahassee, Florida to give our customers a place to sit and relax while enjoying our fruit smoothies. By 1999, we added a wide range of wholesome food options to our menu that perfectly complemented our smoothies. One year later, we officially established the Tropical Smoothie Café name.

In 2007, we celebrated our 10 year anniversary and started our own holiday, National Flip Flop Day®. On National Flip Flop Day®, we raise funds to benefit Camp Sunshine and customers who visit our cafes wearing flip flops between 2pm — 7pm receive a FREE smoothie. It’s a great day to bring on the sunshine in the lives of children with life-​threatening illnesses and their families.

I opened this location in 1999 while pursuing my business degree from Florida State University. Since that time it’s been exciting to see the brand evolve from a simple smoothie concept on the beach to a full café concept with over 400 locally owned units.

I joined Tropical Smoothie Café after discovering my passion for serving others and for the food industry. For me, the restaurant business offers a unique opportunity to combine these two passions in a meaningful way. Each day, I have the opportunity to change a moment in someone’s day in a positive way by serving a great product with a personal touch. So, please come by and see us!
