The Home Depot

I will premise this review by saying that I have visited this location several times, as I live close by. The store has everything that a Home Depot should have. I never go in looking for more than some simple gardening supplies or paints.
On my most recent trip, however, I was seeking out some wood as I am undertaking a small building project. I first talked a man who worked in the paint and stain section and he was very helpful. I even asked him about lumber which is out of his department, and he seemed knowledgeable and ready to assist. He couldn’t leave his station, so I headed down to lumber only to find not a single worker on duty. I can understand this as I work in customer service and workers are limited, but I didn’t even see one in the area. I walk over to customer service to see if I can find an associate, and they tell me all their workers called out?! Who is running the department then?
I mentioned that I was undertaking a project while making chit chat with the customer service representative, and he quickly stated that they do not «do» projects and that they couldn’t (or wouldn’t) cut any of the wood I was going to pick out. Also they mentioned that the saw wasn’t precise and they don’t guarantee the cuts will be correct. I wasn’t sure what this meant as I just needed supplies be I was told they cut the wood.
As mentioned above I have had positive experiences here and will probably be back. Next time I will definitely adjust my expectations for customer service though.

When you are a builder and in a new town. The first thing that you find out is where is Home Depot or Lowe’s. In this town Home depot won out. They are closer and they have lumber and stuff that I need. So I have been a few times and everyone in this store seems to be helpful. They have the stuff that I need and I give them a lot of money for it to. Oh well that’s the game. I need they have.

People who work here REALLY seem to hate their jobs. I always see several customers wandering around, lost and ignored by the staff. There are plenty of people on duty, but you can only find them standing around talking to each other and ignoring customers. And they usually have this glum, broken-​down expression that says «I’d rather be picking up roadkill than working here!» It’s pretty creepy and grim, even by The Home Depot’s usual standards.

My favorite hardware store in Tallahassee — I like Home Depot better than Lowe’s in general, and this is my favorite location, convenient to NW Tallahassee and just off the interstate.
They always have what I need, from gardening supplies to auto tools to lightbulbs.
