Description

Specialties

We strive to set ourselves apart from every other daycare in Tallahassee. From infant care to preschool, we strive to create a sense of community by building upon each child’s background, language, and learning abilities so that each child feels a positive sense of self. Children should feel they are at their «other home» when they step through the doors of Scottsdale Academy.

History

Established in 2003.

In August of 2005, Roy and Jennifer purchased the Academy and quickly elevated the service to an early childhood development school. In October 2006, all components of Scottsdale Academy were evaluated including: administration, classroom environment, parent and community involvement, advocacy on behalf of children, teacher credentials, and teacher to child ratios. The preschool achieved high scores on all indicators of quality. Scottsdale Academy became APPLE accredited and also achieved the Florida Gold Seal of Quality status.

Recognizing the need for high-quality childcare and consistently being at 100% capacity with a waiting list for new students, the Keisters expanded the Academy by adding a 2,100 square foot expansion in Sept. 2007. Further expansion in August 2010, included a second location with a 20,000 square foot facility located in the business district of the popular Southwood community.
