History

Established in 2011.

Painting with a Twist Tallahassee opened its doors in February 2011, and we’ve been having fun ever since! Our parent company, Corks N Canvas was started in 2007 by Cathy Deano and Renee Maloney in Mandeville, Louisiana. The concept pairs instructional art with friends, wine and a lively instructor to produce individual works of art. With four locations in the Greater New Orleans Area, the company began franchising the business as Painting with a Twist® in 2009. To date, 207 franchise locations are open all over the country.

Meet the Business Owner

Joanna W.

Business Owner

Joanna is a Tallahassee transplant with Florida roots. Both of her parents attended Florida State University, and many of her family members still reside in the Big Bend. Joanna worked as a graphic designer in Shreveport, LA before moving to Tallahassee in October of 2010 to open the studio. She is very involved in the community, and enjoys making personal connections with class attendees. When she’s not in the studio, Joanna enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, and loves an excuse to cook and bake!
