Courtyard Tallahassee North/I-10 Capital Circle

For the price I figured that They include breakfast but NO ! It says enjoy breakfast in the morning but neglected to say it for sale ! For a family it hard to round up everyone and then have that happened is one big wake up call. And if a hotel wants to stay competitive in this market you have to offer breakfast. It is not worth the price to stay ! You can find better. Rooms were OK.

I rated the wrong location by accident. I never stayed gere and camt find how to delete my review :(We really liked this hotel. Beautifully decorated and very clean looking. Bed linens and towels were fresh and bed was comfy. Sadly I woke up in the middle of the night gasping for air from allergies and then found thick dust on surfaces like where pictures are placed. I wondered if cats are allowed since I’m really allergic. Should give a bad rating based on asthma attack usually brought on only by cats or mold but th bed was so comfy and we were sleepy!

So here I am… typing this review in the middle of the night while staying at the Courtyard Tallahassee North I-​10 Capital. Why, you might ask? Because I am THAT upset by their crappy air conditioning service. The AC in my room keeps shutting off leaving me with no choice but to bear with the Florida heat, as I restlessly toss and turn in a vain attempt to sleep… and all that their front desk people can say is, «there’s nothing we can do about it right now, our maintenance staff isn’t going to be available till tomorrow morning, and since you’re staying on a government rate (thank you military), we can’t do anything further for you.» Thank you Courtyard Marriott for ruining my stay, and destroying my night. Worse still, I found stray hairs and food crumbs in my bed as well. I wish I had read the reviews here first, seems to be a trend with this hotel that the upkeep is shabby.
UPDATE: I have since been issued a refund by the hotel, which leaves me reassured that customer satisfaction is still a priority here.

The lobby is really nice and the staff was great! The location is convenient to the highway and plenty of places to eat in the area.
Unfortunately, the room was not up to par with a Marriott (and the price!). The AC kept shutting off even when I put it on high so the room was warm and uncomfortable. The shower had mold and the bathtub was really disgusting. The towel for the floor was also dirty; thankfully I bring flip flops to shower in. The pillows in the other bed had hair so clearly it wasn’t cleaned out from the previous guests.
I do not recommend staying here.

Marriotts are a dime a dozen. Here’s the pros and cons on this one:
Pro:
Front desk is friendly
Suites with good space available, inc balcony ($)
Food available on site (run and go style)
Passed my bed bug mattress check (mattress looked sunk in though)
Gym looked good but small
Con:
Indoor pool but does have a outside deck. I like to swim outside, so con.
Found dusty areas in my room. One was a layer on top of the mini fridge.
A trash can wasn’t emptied from the last guest.
Toilet paper wasn’t flushing.
Only stocked with shampoo, conditioner and soap.

Lobby has a seemingly new look, pretty modern. Nice, well kept room with no odor. Standard expectations.

Great hotel in Tallahassee. There are a number of hotel choices in Tallahassee and many are scary. This is an older property but very well maintained and nicely kept. The staff is very friendly and it’s very convenient to good restaurants. It’s also very close to I-​10 for the East/​West travelers and to Thomasville Road (319) for the traveler coming from or going to the North. Its a little drive from the downtown area and the universities but trust me, that’s a good thing. I’d stay here again in a second. It’s pricey but so are the dumps in town.

Hot swimming pool. Great for the kids. No free breakfast though.

This is an older, very nicely-​kept Courtyard that’s conveniently located right off I-​10. The lobby has been renovated and is beautiful. Helpful, nice front desk staff. My room was fresh and clean, with a really comfy bed. It had a small bathroom, with the sink outside the tub area. There were lots of fresh, clean towels. There was a little separate sofa area, with a coffee table, as well as a nice dresser and work-​desk area. There’s a little coffee pot with coffee to make in the morning. Very speedy free wi-​fi. There’s plenty of parking on-​site — in a nicely-​landscaped, quiet area. Be aware that this location is NOT downtown Tallahassee; it is a little bit of a drive to the city center. There are a couple fast food joints within walking distance, as well as an Outback Steakhouse right next door.
I am usually a Fairfield Inn kind of girl, because I like the free eats in the morning that FF Inn offers. But, I got a great Marriott eBreak rate on this Courtyard, so I took a cheap rate over free food. The lobby has a restaurant and while I did not eat at this one, I have eaten at it at other Courtyards and the breakfast at other ones was very good.
My only complaint (besides no free eats!) is there is no mini-​frig in my room. I am keeping my milk cold like people in the 30s did — with ice on top of it. I prefer rooms with a little frig, but a lot of hotel rooms don’t offer that. Oh, and the air conditioner makes a little bit of a racket — but, hey, this is Florida, as long as the A/​C works good (and it does!), I won’t whine about that issue. Other than that, a great, friendly place to stay.

I stayed here for two nights and it was the longest two nights in a hotel. The first room I checked into reaked of smoke and they changed my room. The second room was better but the bed felt like a piece of cardboard had been placed on a set of springs. I woke up feeling like I had been in a wrestling match overnight and lost. The room itself was not nearly as nice as their competition a few miles up the road in the Doubletree, Aloft etc. Pay the extra money and go there. My second room was next to the laundry shoot and it seems that they send the laundry down the shoot around 4am. It sounded like the roof was caving in. Not only did it wake my wife and I up, it also woke up my 2 year old son. Not a fun experience. I checked out early and booked a room at another hotel. This hotel needs renovating.
There were a few positives, the staff was nice and seemed genuinely suprised by my experience. The courtyard of the hotel was very nice with the pool and gazebo. The hot tub inside also seemed nice. The breakfast was also good.

The staff was really great, but WTF. No comp breakfast? I’m double platnium and I gotta pay $ 2 for a 4 ounce V8.

Two things to look at here, the room and the food.
I had a good stay at this hotel. I am always pleased with Courtyard. I would say a 4-​star rating for the price, the room quality and the great customer service. The hosts are always very welcoming and always very helpful. I never feel as though I am a second-​rate customer. What kills this location is the dining.
Courtyard is one of the few hotels that I stay that I will actually eat at the in-​house restaurant. Why? I have a very firm rule against eating at restaurants located in hotels. These restaurants have a captive audience, of sorts. An audience that will try that one time and not return solely because of the fact that they are transient. That restaurant is the exception to the natural laws of restaurant selection and so stays in business.
Whoever was running the dining should be schooled a bit more. The food was purportedly made fresh in the back so that it would be fresh. It was not. My eggs tasted old and rubbery while also managing to be cold. The milk was sour. The juice was not the normal juice that Courtyard serves but a cheap Tang imitation. I was not pleased with this experience. I later would find that I actually got sick from the food, I guess more than the milk was bad. And, in the end, I was allowed to pay too much for the poor experience.
I will stay at this hotel again, but I will remain away from the food.
