As the Maid of Honor it’s my responsibility to ensure a good time is had by all! I was planning this bachelorette weekend from 640 miles away, having never been to St Michaels or Talbot, MD I immediately hit up Unilocal. The bride wants to take a boat out, she loves being on the water. I tell myself, Ok, I can figure out a way to make this happen. I call around to numerous places trying to find someone that is willing to drive a boat for approximately 9 – 10 ladies — I never dreamt this would be such a difficult task. One place even explains to me — «It’s just like a rental car — you rent it, you drive it!» I thought small towns were normally friendly. The next place I called did allow a half day boat rental, but they wanted $ 800! Yikes. Not to mention, the boat was a Sea Ray and would have been pretty crowded with 10 ladies, plus a driver. FINALLY, I came across Dockside Express. The owners were super friendly and even offered for us to have the boat all to ourselves at no additional charge. We opted for the 90 minute sunset cruise. Reggae music was playing as we stepped on board, cool breezes coming off the water, beautiful views and beverages flowing what more could anyone want. We had a blast! We even had the drawbridge raised to complete our cruise. I owe a huge thank you to the owners. You could tell they genuinely wanted us to have fun and that we did! *Best part of all $ 35 per person unlimited beer and wine! Woohoo.

I went with my family on the 90-Minute Ecology Cruise and we really enjoyed it. Before the cruise, we got a tour of their nature center for the inside scoop on local sea creatures. Our tour guide took us around the Chesapeake Bay and provided an entertaining and informative experience. It’s $ 30 per person. I’d recommend this for families or as a date idea for people that are outdoorsy, or at least claim to be on their profile. You could make a day of it and check out the nearby touristy town, St. Michaels, MD.
