About Wu Shen Tao
Wu Shen Tao Health and Martial Arts has operated in the Silver Spring/Takoma Park area since 1985 and has developed over time a comprehensive curriculum for training in the martial arts. Unfortunately, in this country, many people associate martial arts with violence or with the super athlete. At Wu Shen Tao, we do not stress violence, nor will you be required to engage in activities for which you are not ready. Our goal is to introduce you to the more spiritual and health related aspects of training by offering a variety of programs ranging from Qi Gong and meditation to self-defense with many choices in between. In addition, once you have become a part of Wu Shen Tao, you will have access to our bookstore and video club, and can take advantage of special seminars, lectures and workshops.

History
Established in 1985.
We started in renting space in Takoma Park, MD in 1985. We then moved to Silver Spring MD in 1986, into our own facility. There, both Senior instructors (Christophe Clark and Paul Ramos), took turns becoming Tai Chi National Champions through 1991. Paul Ramos took over as Chief instructor in 1990. During the next decade his students earned 18’US National Champion titles and several also became nationally ranked Olympic Style Fencers. Between 1992 and 2000 the school moved 2 blocks away, still in Silver Spring MD, where we continued to train champions, in Tai Chi, Xing– I Chuan, Bagua Zhang, and Shaolin Kung Fu. From 2000 until the present we returned to teach in Takoma Park MD, and trained students who won Grand Champion honors as all round champions as well as in multiple internal martial arts categories. Several also became Pushing Hands Grand Champions. We continue to teach to these high standards in Takoma Park MD at present
