Rustic Cottages

Absolutely loved this place! Such a mom and pop feel. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming to us upon arrival! They offer an array of complementary supplies and beverages as well as breakfast. The room was a little dated but it still felt like a clean and cozy cottage. BIG BONUS for us was that they offered certain cottages that were PET FRIENDLY and in addition the prices were very comparable to hotel rooms. Such a great alternative! Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here last week and my experience was great. The location is perfect no noise and nice place to relax. Close to a lot of the main spots in Tahoe. If you are looking for nice old style cabins in the woods this is the place. The breakfast was great. And the staff is awesome. Loved the cookies and brownies. Next time I’m in Lake Tahoe I will stay here.

My Birthday Surprise Weekend from my Husband. Wonderful, Comfy, Warm, friendly cozy. Excellent Service. Met all our requests. Excellent breakfast. Best of everything we had. Home cooking. Walked right across the street to Lake Tahoe. Watched the sunset. Convenient to everthing. Shopping, dining, fast good, Safeway. We’ll definitely be back.

I took my kids here for winter break so they could see the snow again (It had been years) and I rented a cabin here and It was a amazing experience ! The rooms were clean and so was the cabin, The bathrooms were great too. Me and my family spent most of the time outside but when we were inside it was warm, heated and the first night there was great! I will obviously come here for years to come!

What a fantastic find! Okay, our friend found it for us (her entire wedding party stayed here). Loved the charm and authenticity of the cottages (with gas fireplaces and small kitchenettes), hospitality of the owners/​hosts, generous breakfast spread, proximity to ski resorts (and the beach across the street), as well as the extraordinarily reasonable rates. Will definitely return!

This is the second time I’ve stayed here. The first time we didn’t have a fireplace. Splurge for the fireplace… especially in the winter. It kept the entire unit toasty even though we kept it at 60 degrees at night. Plus it’s controlled by the wall thermostat so it’s very user friendly.
Continental breakfast is tasty. Waffles, eggs, ham, sausage and delicious homemade muffins. Plus coffee, OJ, and cereal. They don’t open til 730ish so if your an early riser bring your own coffee (pot and filters provided!). If you’re skiing, have an alternate plan.

Shhhhhhhhh! Don’t tell anyone! This is the best kept secret on the «right» side of the lake!
Kathy is the best! The Spooner is our favorite cabin but we have stayed in other cabins that are quite nice, too! It feels like home every time we stay! And it’s true… free brownies!

Rustic Cottages was so cute and adorable! The people were so sweet and it is DIRECTLY across the street from the beach! Such a cute touch with the breakfast and free snacks all day. Also the adorable collectible mugs are complimentary! :) We had a wonderful time and would stay here again in a heartbeat. :)

We stayed here on a weekend trip with our pup to support family who were racing in the Ironman. When you book make sure you check that the cabin available is a dog friendly one, if traveling with your pup. We stayed in one of the smaller cabins (Glenwood) and while it was a tight squeeze for 2 adults and a dog it was incredibly cozy and met our needs /​budget. There really wasn’t any room to move around but we were ok with that considering we were out for the majority of the day. The place is located across the way from the water (but no dogs allowed on the beach) and right on the course where Ironman cyclists raced through. Breakfast included eggs, sausage, and ham with coffee. Simple but hearty enough to kick off the day. I loved that you could get bedtime tea such as chamomile tea as well as brownies or cookies at reception. It was surely a nice touch.

We walked in without reservations and were met with amazing hospitality! The cabins were clean, cute, had a nice porch, and plenty of trees to add to the ambiance. We were able to grill on the patio and everything was nice, and comfortable. The «extras» were very nice! Brownies, cookies, nice little breakfast, and an awesome collection of VHS tapes. We loved our stay!

People here really care. This place is a gem. Breakfast was delicious. Eggs, sausage, ham, waffles, fresh baked muffins, coffee, orange juice, milk, cereal, hot cocoa. Breakfast is included with your stay. Serving brownies, cookies, lemonade and tea all day long. Free souvenirs mugs and post cards available.
Really love this place. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

Fantastic place!!! We stayed here about 18 years ago and it was great then but it got better! It is all that everyone has said and I can’t say it any better. The people are GREAT!

Marshall is the best!!! This place has the cutest little cottages and the best service! Don’t mistake this place for the other Rustic place. This place has brownies, cookies, tea, hot chocolate, free mugs and postcards. If you forget anything, Marshall has it all lined out for you to grab at your leisure. I love this place and would totally recommend it to any and everyone!!!

My husband and I celebrated our 35^th wedding anniversary here. Such a lovely well kept cabin. The best thing about Rustic Cottages is the kindness of the owners and the amazing breakfast he made in the morning. Best tasting waffle I have ever eaten. Great coffee, eggs, sausage and juice. I would highly recommend staying here and can’t wait to return on our next visit to beautiful Lake Tahoe.

This is definitely a good affordable place to stay in Tahoe. First off its not the Ritz if that’s what you’re looking for, but it is pretty nice for how much it costs. There are also many amenities that are included with your stay here. They provide a full breakfast, and not those one with just yogurt and cereal, I’m talking eggs, sausage, waffles! They also give you free mugs if you want them and have a bunch of snacks available. The location is also nice since its just a walk across the street to the lake.
Overall an awesome place to stay for the price and atmosphere!

I absolutely loved this place. I took my fiancé and step son to see snow for their first time ever! What an amazing an fulfilling moment we all shared together… we stayed in the Bijou cottage. It was a bit small for all 3 of us but it was accommodating and I had no complaints. There was a complete mini kitchen, bathroom, tv, and cute gas fireplace to keep us warm. The people who run the lodge were so friendly and met all my needs. They offered free breakfast for every day spent lodging there, they welcomed us with free movies, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and popcorn. The lake is right across the street, a grocery store within a couple minutes away, and a binder in each room filled with lots of things to do. It couldn’t get any better than this. My fiancé and I will definitely be going back. My 5 year old step son loved it too and couldn’t stop having fun in the snow!
There are plenty of different size cabins so you can definitely stay in whichever cottage suits the needs of all vacationers whether it’s a couple or a bunch of people staying! Have fun!

I LOVE THIS PLACE!
Stayed here with my girlfriend on Valentine’s weekend, 2015 and it was amazing. The Yosemiee cabin is beautiful and has a good view of the lake from the deck. The fireplace also makes the room that much better in the winter time. They have an older TV, VHS, and dvd in the room and have a really good collection of old and newer movies. Not everyone might agree, but the old tv, old movies, fireplace, and cabin in the winter is a perfect combination and my gf loved it. The staff is very welcoming and the location is perfect. There’s also a Safeway down the street if you want to buy food and cook yourself. They have all the dishes you need in the kitchen.
And you get a great mug with their logo! Will definitely stay here again if I get the chance.
