Truckee River Taxi provides 24⁄7 taxi service YEAR ROUND in the North Lake Tahoe Area:

1. Local Service in North Lake Tahoe

2. Reno Airport (RNO) transfers between North Lake Tahoe and RNO

3. Truckee River rafting shuttles — $ 5 per person and R/​T groups

Service in North Lake Tahoe Area: We charge for exact mileage (not metered mileage like typical taxis). Rates depend on # of passengers and clear/​snowy road conditions (rates posted online and in cabs). What does this mean for you? No pickup or drop off fees and you can depend on the fare being the same each time you ride with us no matter what the traffic or weather might do.

RNO Transfers: We are licensed to pick up/​drop off at Reno Airport (RNO) (special licensing is required for RNO pickups — not all companies have this licensing).

River Rafting Shuttles: In the summer we have shuttle rides for rafters on the Truckee River (Tahoe City to Alpine Meadows’ section) for $ 5 per person (and round-​trip river transport for groups).

History

Established in 2011.

Truckee River Taxi started out in 2011 to be the first company dedicated to shuttling public rafters on the Truckee River in the summertime. Our affordable and reliable service spoke for itself, and soon our customers were asking for more.

Our 3 owners came to Tahoe for a love of snow and with strong backgrounds in customer service. Our desire was simply to provide a reliable service for a community we love. As we grew and started to hire drivers, we decided to only hire courteous and friendly people to be the face of our company, as reflected in the bulk of the feedback we receive from our customers.

We are proud to offer 24/​7, year-​round transportation for local service, party and event shuttles, river rafting transport, and airport service. Thank you for supporting your local businesses.

The driver for Truckee River on Sat. Sept. 19th charged us $ 60 to go 12 miles. He was rude and definitely took advantage. I asked if he would take $ 50 and he was like no and if you pay with cc I’m charging you 3% more. He didn’t even have a time clock up that calculated the trip. I would encourage you if your going to use the service is to negotiate price ahead of time or get ready to hand over your first born.

An exceptional taxi service. They pick up when you call, show up when they say they will and better yet they have huge vans to get the party where you want to go! So thrilled with this company and will only ever call Truckee river taxi company whenever I need a ride in Tahoe! Oh yea they even do Reno drop off and pick ups! Killer deal if you are flying in!

Long time local here, trust me — these guys are the best! On time, quick, good estimates on times, great rates and by far the friendliest drivers. Any negative review you read is from peak season when they bring in additional drivers to cater to higher numbers of crowds, and these guys are by far faster and more accommodating than any competing company when it comes to busy season.

Horrible service (20 min late for pick up), overcharged drastically ($ 25 for less than a mile) and missed my drop off location (pick up and drop off). Don’t use this cab unless you want to be robbed. On top of that, call center was horribly rude. Want to support local business but in no way will I give this agency business going forward and you shouldn’t either. Makes me want to open my own taxi company.

Total flakes. An hour late picking me up at the airport in Reno. They then forgot my return pickup and I had to scramble to make my flight. Threw me a huge attitude when I dared to complain. Unreliable independent contractors. I would avoid them if you need reliable service.

I worked with Truckee River Taxi to shuttle wedding guests from the hotel to the venue and later that night from the venue to the bar, and they were awesome. They were above and beyond the most reasonably priced, and Jen was so responsive. Throughout the wedding process I worked with many vendors, and Jen was always the quickest to respond. I loved it! Not only did Jen and team make my life easier on the big day, but they were so organized leading up to it, ensuring that guests would arrive on time to the wedding, and quickly off to the after party. They were a huge part of making the big day a success, and I highly recommend them for your taxi/​shuttling needs in the Tahoe/​Truckee area.

Great service! On time, clean black leather Subaru with friendly drivers. You can reserve online or by phone. They didn’t fail us for a 4:30am pick up and the driver was alert and we felt safe on the dark, slick roads. Fully recommended!

Truckee River Taxi is the best! They are almost always able to get me in 15 minutes or less, and they are often early! The dispatchers are always friendly on the phone and the drivers have always been awesome (like, they aren’t a bunch of crabby old dudes). I always tell people to call Truckee River if they need a lift– who else would I call?

these guys are the best cab company in all of tahoe! they have a large fleet of vehicles and are always on time. they do great rates to the airport and will save you froma dui after your booze cruise down the truckee river. i work at a local resort and refuse to offer anyone else to our guests.

I refuse to use any other cab service. The rates truly are the best — sometimes half what the other guys charge. Locals know there is no other option, and I’d recommend ONLY this company to visitors in town .It’s really a no-​brainer.

Truckee River Taxi saves the DAY!!!
Thanks to TRT, on the morning after Tahoe’s first snow storm of the season. My friend and I were up and ready to «shred the pow» and the roads still needed to be plowed. You see where this story is going… So we got stuck and unstuck. Then stuck again, and again, ect. When… da, da da!!! Jen pulls up with the taxi. Rightfully named Large Marge, hooks up the tow strap and pulls me up the slippery road like a BOSS! We dropped my car at home. Then using yet another service. Got a ride to the mountain. This company’s got all the services you can ask for. Call them for a tow, a ride, a jump start or in the summer for a pick up at the bottom of the Truckee River after a long day floating. Thanks TRT!!! Your our Heros!!!

After a super fun day on the river, we were happy to see the Truckee River Taxi van. The van was full at the time, but the driver said that he would be right back to pick us up. 10 minutes later he showed up and drove us back to our car. The driver who was also the owner was friendly, laid back and happy to drop people off at unplanned stops. Would highly recommend!
