Tahoe Water Adventures

What an incredible experience! They were the only ones who answered their phone and were very knowledgeable and patient with us as we made several changes to the reservation. When we arrived the check in was smooth, the staff was very friendly, professional and down to earth. We rented four jet skis and had the time of our lives. What an amazing way to end a spectacular weekend. Much credit goes to the staff. Top notch!

My boyfriend and I went jet skiing for my birthday. It was so much fun! For a two seater jet ski, the price was $ 110 for one hour. An hour is enough time to enjoy the Tahoe waters.
We called and made reservations a few days before. We called the morning of our reservation to change it to the next day due to the weather– it was cold that day and we wanted to jet ski on a warmer day. They were so nice and accommodating and let us change our reservation, despite not letting them know 48 hours in advance.
The service is super chill and casual. All they have is a booth set up by the pier, we talked to the employee there and she told us to walk further down since we had reservations and already paid. We walked to the instructor and she gave us life jackets and a brief explanation on how to ride a jet ski. It was our first time, and the explanation was informative enough for us to ride. Make sure to ask questions though if they go over things too fast.
The jet skis have a little cubby where you can store your stuff inside so they won’t get wet. It was big enough to hold our sandals, a small bag, and phones. They also provide a small waterproof pouch to hold your phone since it’s required (for obvious safety reasons) when you’re out in the water. Since they have this cubby, I recommend bringing a camera to take pics when you’re out in the water and not in motion of course. Just be careful not to drop it in the water!
We had such a great time! The jet ski had lots of power and went as fast as we wanted it to. Don’t push it or do anything stupid and dangerous though. Though it was mid-​70s the day we went, the combination of the water and the wind made it a bit chilly. I recommend a light jacket or shirt and some sort of water shoe– our bare feet were freezing!
If you go fast, you will get wet! The driver will get the most wet, and the person sitting behind will be shielded for the most part but expect light to medium splashing to the face. You shouldn’t get soaked though.
This is a great place to rent jet skis– super easy and so much fun!

We rented a boat on two separate occasions this summer. Both experiences were awesome. Great crew working the booth; extremely friendly and helpful. We found it easy to sign-​in and register; got a great refresher course in boating 101 and we were off to explore the lake.
On the second time, since we had already completed the paperwork, they were able to get us on the lake straight away.
Highly recommend these guys!

Truly an awesome experience with the team over at Tahoe Water Adventures! They are very friendly and knowledgable. They helped us feel comfortable since we were newbies at this.
We rented 2 jet skis and enjoyed it so much that we came back again the next day!
$ 120 per hour per jet ski is a steal.
Also if it’s between 10am and Noon… It’s only $ 88.BOOM!
Will be renting here again when I’m in Tahoe City!

Damon was very helpful. He helped us find the right day/​time to go out on the water to avoid crowds and wind. Rates are very good and getting an instructor is a great deal as well as it comes with all the water toys and fuel!
Tori was our driver and was great with our kids. Great attitude and tips to get all the kids up on wakeboards… they had a blast! He also made sure they had fun tubing. I’d highly recommend him as an instructor. Thanks Tubin’ Tori!

My husband and I had a fabulous experience with Tahoe Water Adventures! We took a ski boat out for the 2-​hr minimum to explore the lake. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back here again!

Eric, Damon and Lindsay are all fantastic and will set up your reservation quickly and seamlessly. We have rented jet skis several times with Tahoe Water Adventures and had nothing but a stellar time and experience on Lake Tahoe with our rentals.

My brother and I wanted to rent a jet ski yesterday and waited by the tent for 20 minutes before I called the number on the sign. A lady answered and came outside and said they couldn’t rent because of a wind/​wake advisory and she said to come back the next day. I obviously can’t blame them for that.
Came back today and arrived at 3:45 and the employees said «hi» and we said «we’d like to rent a jet ski please» he said they were closed because they had hired a new person (two hours and 15 minutes early!). They told us to come back the next day but we are leaving town.
Really sad I didn’t get to go jet skiing but thankful I didn’t give them my money.

I have rented boats from 4 different places around Tahoe and this was by far the easiest and most friendly staff. The online reservation system was good and the check-​in was easy. I got there early and they had me ready right at my time. Boat was good compared to other rentals. Got back on time and they met me to dock the boat and check-​out was easy. For a boat rental place… best I have had out of 5 rentals around Tahoe.

Lindsey was super nice, helpful and accommodating when making the reservation. We wanted a little history of the lake along with our tubing and Captain Brad was THE BEST. Can’t wait to go back.

I came to Tahoe Water Adventures with three members of my family to rent a couple jet skis for a fun day on the lake. It truly was as good as it gets! Eric and staff was friendly, conscious of safety, and fairly priced.
We were out on the water for an hour and had an absolute blast. The jet skis were faster than the ones I have rented at Folsom Lake, and the water is just slightly (LOL) prettier! Also worth noting that Tahoe Water Adventures provides a check in deal for Unilocal users. It’s worth checking it out if you have the Unilocal app.
There was no wait to rent and I will definitely be back during my next trip to Tahoe. Thanks, Tahoe Water Adventures!
Side Note: I read the Unilocal review by Mrs. Marla G… You would think the Unilocal algorithm would filter that out. Yikes, bringing a cell phone out for personal safety isn’t a bad thing, lady. For a Tahoe newbie, I could see people easily getting lost out on the lake. Stay safe and have a blast everyone!

Great experience! Rented a ski boat with a driver for 4 hours of wakeboarding and tubing. Our driver, Brian, was awesome. The boys challenged him to see how long they could stay on the tube. Hillarious fun. Great boat, great driver, a ton of fun.

These guys are fantastic! Renting a boat can often be more painful than a refinance. NOT so here – they were quick, friendly, thorough, clear, helpful, and encouraging. Furor more the boat was in great shape, and we flew to Emerald Bay and back, and did some great surfing behind the boat in between. They had it all – wetsuits, rope, wakeboard, etc. great outfit.

We have been boating on Lake Tahoe for 30 years and love Tahoe City Marina and yacht club. Every year we have para sailed at the TC Marina and adore the team and experience. This year our granddaughter wanted her grandmother, me, to take her jet skiing. We arrived at the tent located on the dock adjacent to the TC Marina and signed up, did all the paper work, paid with a credit and was scheduled for a time 45 minutes later. At that point we walked to the Commons beach with our grandchildren, I gave my credit card to my husband, all other personal items were locked inside the cabin of our boat. My granddaughter and I returned about 15 minutes early and went out to the staging area where there stood to young fellows that are to instruct us on the operation of the jet ski. I asked one of the guys the question, «how can we tell when the hour was up?» his response, you have to wear a watch. I don’t have a watch on and neither did my granddaughter. He proceeded to lecture me that I would be charged double if we returned the jet ski one minute late. Ok, so. Low and behold a friend and fellow boat owner showed up and loaned us his watch. The young man left and returns with another guy. Mr. Owner, didn’t introduce himself just tells me, that I have to have my cell phone on me. (period!) it’s about time for the jet ski ride, but informs me that he is the owner… Mr. owner didn’t like that I was not going to go get my cell phone and that we borrowed a watch want enough. Oh now this was not acceptable to Mr. Owner and he didn’t like my attitude. (Business 101-​the customer is always right)…no the owner’s clerk, whom did the paperwork never informed that I had to take my cell phone with me 45 minutes ago! Mr. Owner tells me the cell phone will prevent me from getting lost… I informed him that wasn’t an issue, as we have a boat in the marina. Yes, I am getting exasperated, annoyed and thinking enough when Mr. Owner tells me that he is going to issue me a credit because he thinks I am being agressive. Perfect, my friend says he ‘ll bring his jet ski up on Sunday and take my 15 year old Granddaughter. Then the clerk tells me she needs the credit card to give me a credit, I informed her since she wrote my card number on the paperwork, she didn’t need the card. «complaint number 2, why do they hand-​write the credit card #, 3 digit code plus swip the card? Finally, I Got my credit, and tore my credit card number off the paperwork, and told her she failed to inform me that I had to have a cell phone with me. Did she apologies… NO. She said, «I am giving you a credit.». They wasted an hour of my granddaughters vacation, my time, and therefore I find it necessary to write a negative review.
We walked over to the PROFESSIONAL Parasailing company with a real office and booked, received a t-​shirt since we are a repeat customer and had a perfect experience.

I came to rent a wakeboard and go out for an hour on a non busy weekend and was told to come back at 230 for my reservation which the lady booked for me. She then told me that she was going to call me on my cell phone if anything came up earlier. She then proceeded to call me at 145 and told me that my reservation was not going to be able to be honored because another family who went out before me «decided to go out longer». Needless to say I was very disappointed and was really looking forward to going out on the lake. All she offered me in return for not honoring my reservation was to come back the next day which I declined because we were leaving that day.
Very disappointing since we rented from them a few years ago in the past. It left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Rarely do you find rental operations that are fun, efficient, and friendly, but Tahoe Water Adventures has it all. Our instructors were knowledgable, and the jet skis and boats we rented were in first class condition. Instructor and co-​owner Todd Kelly was able to get our daughter up on water skis, on just her second attempt! Partner Eric Garaoya runs a smooth, flawless operation. We’ll be back next year; the kids want this to be part of their summer adventures in Tahoe every season!
