Thank you for an excellent experience. The sales staff was very knowledgable and accommodating, and helped us pick the right replacement carpeting for our cabin. The installers arrived promptly, were careful with our furnisihings and did a great job with the installation. Highly reccommend!

I’ve had a terrible experience working with Tahoe Specialty Flooring to install blinds in my vacation home. I worked with them years ago and everything was great but if I could give zero stars for this most recent interaction I would.
I ordered blinds at the end of August and installation was in September. When I went to the house a week later I found that not all of the blinds were in. (I was not notified of this.) After a couple of phone calls I was told that there was a problem with the fit and they were re-​ordering. When I went back to the house a month later, the blinds were in but without the cassettes on the top. (Again, no phone call to notify me of this, I had to find it myself).
After 4 more phone calls to the store, I was told that the cassettes will not fit in the space where my blinds are installed due to the size. When I asked the person who measures — and is the only person in the shop who goes on site for these jobs — why he sold me something that he would have known would not fit in my window, he said «I just do the measurements.» WTH? Isn’t part of measuring making sure that the blinds would fit?
So, they sold me something that wouldn’t fit in my house. They look terrible now, like they are partially installed. But the business is taking no responsibility for it. Buyer beware.

What a great experience we had with these folks. I only dinged them one star because we had a problem to start with. But it’s how they handled it that really wowed us. They immediately took blame for the foul up and then jumped through hoops to make it right. And were gracious every step of the way. We mostly dealt with Greg and Anthony and they really define customer service to us. We highly recommend that you deal with this great Tahoe City business.

I chose Tahoe Specialty Flooring to install carpeting in my rental house because they have an excellent selection of carpets and other floor coverings, and I wanted to support a local business.
I specifically told them it had to be installed by Wednesday because I had renters arriving on Saturday. I was told it was no problem, it would be only a one-​day installation.
Apparently the workers were taken off the job without my knowledge. When I found out on Friday night, purely by accident, that the job had been left unfinished, I had to find alternate housing for my renters at my own expense so that I lost the rent I would have made from those renters plus an additional amount, because the alternate housing was more expensive. By the time the work was finally completed late on Saturday, my renters were in their new housing. The company never responded to my request for reimbursement for the lost rental income.
I’m very disappointed in this very poor customer service from what should be a service-​oriented company.

Tahoe Specialty came highly recommended to me by a friend who just couldn’t say enough good things about the company. I always like to support local businesses so I decided to give them a try. In addition to solving a window covering challenge for us, Tahoe Specialty installed beautiful hardwood floors throughout our Tahoe home. This is a first class operation with knowledgeable professionals who went above and beyond our expectations. They were genuinely interested in making sure we received the right products for our home and we couldn’t be happier with the results.
