Wee One’s Preschool & Child Care

My wife and I after several weeks of interviewing different childcare facilities met with Mr. Tim and Mrs. Barbara. I’m so glad that we did. As new parents and full-​time professionals we were very concerned with finding a childcare/​preschool that would meet our and our son’s needs. We have been very pleased with the professionalism and reasonable rates that Wee One’s has provided us over the last three plus years. So much so that we have held off moving further north to accommodate my miserable daily commute from Tacoma to Seattle. I don’t necessarily agree with the earlier negative review. My wife is an early childhood educator and she is nothing but complementary of the education and loving environment our son has received to date. Wee One’s also regularly posts photos, videos, and status updates on a private Facebook page throughout the week. It’s a nice touch giving both parents and extended family members who do not live locally a way to stay connected.
For anyone considering preschool or childcare in the Tacoma area, I strongly recommend personally meeting with Mr. Tim and Mrs. Barbara to discuss their family run program and decide for themselves if this is the right program for their child.

Our son attended from the time he was four months until he was about eighteen months. Positive aspects included an emphasis on routine and consistency with providers. Negative aspects included unprofessional interaction with clients and unrealistic expectations regarding toddler behavior. Additionally, the space is small and does not accommodate the need children have to move their bodies. As a professional educator, the negative aspects outweighed the positives and our family found a new in home daycare. Our son is doing great in his new spot and I am disappointed that I didn’t «trust my gut» and pull him out sooner. This day care is okay for infants, but I do not recommend them for older kids unless you believe in «breaking» a child’s will in order to get them to conform.
