This is the BEST vintage store I’ve found in the SeaTac area! The selection is amazing, good quality, actual vintage clothing. The people are so friendly and I love supporting small local family businesses and that’s what this store is :) This is well curated vintage and a great price range. I drive down from Seattle JUST to shop here. So good.
I don’t like shopping at places like Goodwill because they a) don’t wash the clothing and b) it’s usually second hand H&M manufactured for ‘throwaway’ fashion! I like shopping for quality goods and this is the spot for it!

Seriously. Just go to the goodwill outlet. This store caters to the hipsters with money that want to look like homeless bums or your grandma. I am a serious thrifter so if I wanted to pay anymore than 10 dollars for a piece a crap I’d be like most the naïve people in our society. I only pay for items that are more than ten dollars if its either new or quality. Which they have neither. Not different, not cool, just dumb. The service. I don’t care who you are. I’ve worked retail. Fake it till you make it and I’m a shy gal but somehow i was successful at a no skill, minm wage job. You make the customer feel good about their experience and greet them; which I was welcomed with neither.

I came here on Monday and tried to have my clothes sold but the lady told me to come tomorrow. I asked her to check my clothing to see which they are willing to buy and she helped me hand picked it. And when I asked if they do cash buy back, she told me yes and tell the people in store tomorrow. The very next day I came in and I presented the clothing and according to the second lady it wasn’t their store type of style. Second thing, was when I mention the buy back they said nope, only store credit. Clearly the store is a messy system which need to be fix.

This place makes me wish I had kept every piece of clothing I ever wore growing up because it makes the 80s look hip.
The clearance rack outside is what lured me and my daughter in because we are suckers for a sale, but it was airy space with several racks of quality vintage ranging from 60s house dresses to 80s shoulder-​padded sweaters that made us linger.
The fitting room has the space to accommodate several family members or friends who love you but don’t like pre-​owned clothing. Perfect. You can shop while others sit.
There is a nice mix of clothing and accessories with the usual female favoritism found in clothing boutiques. I found several items to dream about and only purchased one handmade dress. Apparently the store is on Etsy so I will have to check that out.
The one downside would be that the inventory could be increased a big without sacrificing space. Otherwise, this is a great place to find that unique piece that only appears into high school yearbook.

This store is a great place to checkout if you’re downtown, or you’re looking for that unique piece to add some flair to your wardrobe. With that being said, sometimes the selection is a little off; I’ll go in one day and buy several items, and others it seems there’s nothing in the store worth taking home, or what I do like is way overpriced.
Overall, I am definitely a fan. I’ve also sold clothing before and found that they were fair in what they took and what they paid me.
As a frequent customer though, I can say that I’ve been disappointed with the customer service I’ve received. It’s worth checking out but I’d be hesitant to make a long drive since sometimes the selection and pricing can be disappointing.

I love coming here to sell my clothing. Not only do they have awesome retro clothing, but they know how to put it all together so it looks stylish. I normally purchase clothing that are name brand and trendy, but sometimes I have some «vintage» clothing that could be reused in someone else’s closet. I mostly have accessories that I find at my mom’s or gifts that people give me that I no longer need.
The ladies here are very nice, and doesn’t take them long to look at my items (unless there is somoene else in front of me). There are some old theater chairs to sit in while you wait near the entrance. There also use to have the Tacoma Tea Co. in the back that since has moved. They do have concerts sometimes in that old space in the back.
Just a cool place to look for new treasures for your closet or get some inspirations on how to make the things in your closet collecting dust back in your clothing rotation or bring it in to sell before you donate it.

Cool place. Warm and cozy environment. Good quality in clothes! Ok customer service. Worth the drive from Olympia.

Best thrift shop I’ve been to, thus far! Super nice staff and awesome finds :) reminds me of a used urban outfitters

This place is freaking awesome. It’s not like any other vintage clothing store around. The prices are low and the people who work their are really nice.

I wouldn’t even give this one star. Clothing is ugly and beyond outdated. Not sure who would actually purchase items here. This is a poor quality rummage masquerading as a vintage resale shop. Don’t waste your time or money.

This place has new and gently used clothes, shoes, and bling for CRAZY CHEAP prices!
The only thing that bothers me is that they don’t have enough in my size (I’m tall). but that’s not their fault. Come on ‘stilt gals’, trade in your stuff! ;-)
I wish they had a branch on the Eastside, because I’m not in Tacoma enough to catch new stuff as often as I’d like.

urbanXchange is a local institution. They’ve been in business nine years now, with Tacoma’s average longevity of a business is equivalent to twenty years anywhere else. Their selection is great, and has only been improved upon since new ownership late last year. The store has really taken on the personal style of the Casanovas, and frankly I think it’s better now than it ever has been, as far as unique selection and the overall aesthetic. It’s become a bit more upscale since its humble beginnings as more of a thrift store, though it’s a welcome change.

This place tries really hard to be hipster. It’s an elevated Platos Closet with more wiggle room and nicer décor. I got a really cute dress from here for 11 and a pair of mary janes that were on sale for 75% off at 12 dollars. The shoes are relatively worn and the dresses is practically brand new. However as soon as I tried to put it on the second time in my room, the the zipper snagged and cause a seam zip in the lace to fabric. It’s a cute dress and a minor imperfection that I can get fixed at an alteration store c:
The only things I would change are the larger selections of skirts and dresses. The skirts are limited and the dresses are just kinda «eh.» Fix that and it’ll definitely be 5 stars for this girly.

Not really my style of clothing. Ive only been here once and nothing caught my eye on the entire store besides a pair of floral doc martens in the front window that they wanted $ 65 for. I couldn’t spend the money at that time but dang were they cute! The staff is super nice too. :)

Brought in a gently used Marc Jacobs jacket to trade. Retailed for over $ 200. The rude cashier/​store associate found a TINY, MINUSCULE stain on one of the sleeves that I never noticed before and said it was «damaged» and offered me $ 10.
Do not trade your clothes for cash here, you will just get ripped off. Go to Goodwill to shop instead.

This place has some really cool items and the prices are decent. I’ve never had the energy to look through the clothes since they always seem to be pretty disorganized (the shop in general seems a bit disorganized) but they have a great collection of shoes, purses, & jewelry!
I do also wish they had a bigger selection, but overall I love this store :)

So let me begin by saying I’m not writing this review because the Urban Exchange wouldn’t accept what I was trying to sell. They have rules for what they accept, and I respect that– they want quality goods.
I will say that I had a frustrating experience with one of their managers. On the third try of going to UXC (my fault for not reading their hours correctly), I came in around 6, right after work. I came in holding the items I wanted to try and sell, and the manager told me they didn’t have any buyers after 4. I asked if there was some way to leave the items, or something along those lines since I work a lot and my hours change daily. The manager said there wasn’t anything she could do, the buyers would be in the next day at 11. Okay, so I guess 4^th time is a charm.
I come in, a lo and behold, the same manager from the previous day was there, as the buyer. Now, I don’t know if she was the one approved to actually *give* money away, but she was the person inspecting new items to see if she’d accept them or not. This is where my problem is– I felt lied to. The manager, after knowing how many times I’d attempted to come to her store, having the items in hand the previous day, did not even think to say, «Oh, hey, I’ll be in tomorrow when we have our buying hours. Let me take a look at what you have to see what we can and can’t accept, so I don’t waste your time.» Instead, I wasted a trip, and wasted gas I could have used to commute to my job (economic times are tough, ya dig?).
So needless to say, I won’t be shopping here anymore. If someone doesn’t have the forethought to think about their customers as if they were people with lives other than trying to sell or buy at UXC, then no thanks.

Buy & sell hip used clothing store. A few vintage pieces mixed in with current items. Inventory is ever evolving so its hard to rate if you only visit once. Parking is horrible, but that’s not the stores fault. There’s a little tea room in the back that’s very cozy. Metered street parking or there’s a pay lot across the street at the history museum.

I always find fun jewelry and accessories in this store. I think I have two wooden bracelets from here now, and a necklace that looks like it’s made out of seeds.
I’m not always super into the clothing selection, but I have found a couple of nice sweaters for work that were really reasonably priced and in good condition.

Just stopped in to check out their old jewelry and was able to purchase an item cheaply. Their prices seem to be realistic for the most part and there was some unusual necklaces to boot.
The store has a lot of clothing that I could see but I did not peruse through it since I was focused at the counter for some sort of sparkle adornment. The lighting in the store could be a lot better.
The woman working there was very attentive and helpful.
