The Community Music Department at the University of Puget Sound offers music lessons and classes to musicians of all ages, from beginning to advanced experience levels. Explore your talent and bring your musical skills to a higher level under the guidance of college professors, experienced educators and professional musicians at the University of Puget Sound campus. Programs include individual classical music lessons, jazz, Suzuki instruction, Kindermusik, adult group piano, musical theater, chamber music, harp ensemble, Puget Sound Brass Camp, and summer workshops. Community Music is a member of the National Guild for Community Arts Education.

History

The Community Music Department is the non-credit department of the School of Music. Music lessons and classes are open to the general public as well as college students. Students can attend music lessons on the campus of University of Puget Sound. The college is rich in history and traditions enjoyed by generations of students, faculty, alumni, and members of the broader community. «The university is a unique intellectual asset in our region and in the nation,» explains President Ronald R. Thomas, «offering an integrated and collaborative education steeped in the liberal arts and committed to being environmentally responsible, civically engaged, and globally aware.»
