Tristate Roofing

I don’t know anything about the company at all and if they are legit or bad or what, so I give them a pity star.
But. Yeah. Watching a movie and having dinner, dude shows up and says he’s from this company. His name was also ‘Russel.’ he told my honey that they were going to be working on a house within a mile of ours and they always went around to tell people that. But when asked, he couldn’t or wouldn’t tell us where they were working – not even cross streets. Honey said he seemed very interested at the inside of our house, almost like we were being cased. I don’t know if the company supports that it maybe they just hired a shifty guy on accident who is taking advantage of their bad marketing practices. Honey wanted to ask him some more questions after he left, so he caught up with the guy down the street at one of our neighbors. Again ‘Russel’ couldn’t answer any questions about the business or his job, and the closest thing he had to a door hanger was a wet and tattered door hanger he pulled out of his coat. Very suspicious. Not to mention at 7 pm at night (in winter… Despite the company’s statement here that they extend hours in the summer).

We’re so happy we hired Tristate for our window replacements. We had 7 windows replaced and our house feels cozier, quieter, and looks so much better. The windows are great quality and they really worked with us to find designs that would help us get our house back to its original Craftsman style.
Our installers were great too! They were exactly on time, very nice and professional, and did a fabulous job. When they were done they walked us around to all our new windows to make sure we understood how they all worked and did a quality check with us to make sure we were happy and all the screens fit well etc.
I’ll be recommending them to everyone who needs new windows.

Update. After I wrote my initial review I kept getting them at my door. I tried to be polite to the sales guys, and informed them that I had no interest in their company, and I filed a complaint with the state about them. I asked them each time to inform their supervisor that I don’t want anyone from that company at my home ever again. They came 7 days in a row (all different sales guys). The last one, I answered the door just long enough to tell him I was calling the cops for harassment, and I have all of these encounters saved on my home security cameras. I haven’t seen them again.

Salesman has come to our door two times in the last month. Very aggressive and condescending. Has to get very firm to get him off porch. I would not buy anything from these people.

I wanted a quote for a new roof, and to replace siding on one side of my house. I scheduled it. When they called to verify they asked if my wife was going to be present I said no and they said they only will do a quote if my wife was present! why? She doesn’t care about the roof, especially since we are selling. That was very fishy. I think they try to pressure the wife. Sounded very fishy to me.

So, it’s almost 8:30 at night. Why did we just have a salesman come to our open front door and yell «KNOCK KNOCK!» when we CLEARLY have a «no soliciting» sign in view? My husband (politely) spoke to the salesman who was insistent on giving us a «free 4 minute estimate» on the spot. After my husband declined for a second time, he finally had to tell «Russell» we were expecting a baby at any time so he would leave. After that he STILL asked if we would be home tomorrow so he could stop by!
If there was any possibility that we might be spending thousands of dollars with this company to have our roof replaced, he just blew it. If I am going to get estimates on a new roof, I’m going to want a knowledgable professional to come out and actually inspect our roof to see exactly what it will need/​not need. This is an absolutely terrible business practice and whomever sent them out at this time of the evening on a MONDAY NIGHT needs to figure it out because their flyer has already made its way into my recycling bin.

Disorganized, disrespectful, dishonest, and disappointed. I give this company a D rating, because I am completely dissatisfied! So far, the roof is still ok

I asked TriState to replace an aging small torch down roof on our house in Tacoma. The roof didn’t leak, it was just old. The first TriState roof in the fall of 2014 leaked and water came through the sheet rock into our back room (just remodeled). After many attempts to have them call me back, I called John Holum the owner and he came out w a crew. Four months later they replace the roof. First good rain and it leaked again. I called Mike with no reply. Called John twice with no reply. Left John a message that I was ready to get another roofing company out. Not sure where this will end up.
The first roof was full of patches and I was told the roofing crew were fired because they «didn’t know their stuff». Somewhere along the way TriState drove roofing nails through a number of cedar shakes splitting them.
I do believe there may be some good roofers at TriState. The problem is more with a lack of response when things go wrong. I shouldn’t have had to drive the solution. Actually, at this point, I’d be happy with any path to a solution. I just don’t want my roof leaking.

While sitting at home preoccupied with work I got a knock at the door…
Some sales guys walking around the neighborhood offering free roofing estimates.
I was interested in a roofing estimate. I made it clear I would accept a phone call to discuss a time to come out and give me an estimate. I was not going to meet with anyone at anytime over this weekend (it was a Friday).
When I got a called a few minutes later it was nothing more than hard sales tactics from some overbearing male call center worker who was pressing me into a meeting with my wife… this weekend.
I told him pretty frankly I believed it was my prerogative to exercise how we would meet (with or without my wife present), at which point he reiterated, in a somewhat terse tone, that he wanted to meet with my wife and I, even if it was in the evening this coming week.
I told him at that point I appreciated the call and to have a nice day. He said the same and I ended the call.
There is no way I would do business with anyone who’s first interaction with me has such a negative connotation and poor customer service.

Untrustworthy
Showed me the roof materials and basically told me I was an idiot for not going for the high class roof they offer
Then tried to impress me with the company history and all the licenses and permits and certificates they have or maybe have because all of them in his binder are expired! He claimed that he just started working for Tristate and didn’t have any time to update them… This is total b. s!
After a couple weeks one of they’re sales guys calls me up with this amazing offer, they could do the job for a lot less because they’re commercial division had room to do a couple roofs in my area
He explained that he probably had to let some guys go if he didn’t get more work because the season was winding down. How dare him to put that on a costumer! I can see why people fold when they put that kind of pressure on you. He called me back later and I kindly declined the offer, he said even for 5 grand less? HELL NO!

I don’t know who was involved in giving bids to these other people who posted one one star???
TriState Roofing was THE MOST professional and reasonabley priced company that we interviewed to do our roof! We had three other companies come and give us bids that were higher than we were comfortable with because they weren’t listening to what we really wanted. Now I am in sales myself, HOWEVER… In 22 years of representing clients in real estate transactions, I KNOW that the needs of my client are what is important… NOT my pocket book, theirs!
I was fed up with dealing with over priced companies so I delayed the TriState appt four times over at least an eight month period. They professionally accepted my request to call me back in a couple of months every time they called. Finally we were ready to talk to with yet another roofing company. Matt came over to talk with us and we were impressed from the first impression. He was relaxed and casual without the stupid up sale crap AND he listened to what we wanted! Needless to say, we got the price we needed and the work was professional! They were 6 weeks out in starting our job which was good in my books… That means they are busy ! They did a great job completing our roof in just two days. The clean up on our yard from the old roof was stellar.
Highly recommend them and have Matt come out to do your bid. No we are not related, he was just the best bidder we experienced.

The nicest man came to my door asking me about my siding and my roofing. He was very courteous and kind so I signed up to have a bid done on my roof. I am in great need of a new roof so I thought the timing was serendipitous. He told me when the folks who would actually doing the bid would come out they needed both me and my husband present. I said that would not be possible. (I don’t think I need to explain why it just is not possible.) He said thank you and someone would be in touch.
The woman called the next day from Tristate to set up an appt. I was interested in doing this next week. She also said it is «company policy» that both husband and wife be present!!! I told her that is not the way we make financial decisions in our house and he could not be present. She said, that is our company policy and we will not be interested in doing business with you and hung up!!!
Come on people — what kind of dumb policy is that — you lost a bid because my husband couldn’t be here for the bid. Something suspicious here…

I usually prefer not to write reviews but this phone conversation i just had with one of their reps… i can tell you for for a fact that they have by far THE WORST customer service i have experienced… are they trying to lose business?
We never even got to the replacing my roof part.
The Long version…
couple of days ago Tristate rep came to our door offering to inspect our roof and the time was right so we decided to call the number on the flyer that their guy left with us.
for next 5 minutes i was questioned by one of the rudest people i heard in a while…
it was like she made sure i will get the worst impression of their company ever…
finally after asking me why i want to replace it and i answered that we found few leaks and think it is a good time to replace the roof … she TOLD ME … that it would be a waste of mine and their time as i dont really want to replace my roof and i would be wasting an hour and a half of their time…
I told her that it was them that knocked on my door the other day offering the service…
I really was … speechless … especially when there are 10 roofing companies just around my area that would probably get my business … but then i came to Unilocal and saw all the bad reviews and understood… I think they are actively trying to lose business… but oh well …

I would definitely give no stars to this company if I could! Harassing company! DO NOT give them your info or phone #, they will call you over and over and over again even if you tell them to take you off of their call list. I am shocked that I now have to complain to the FCC. I am very nice and honest and this is just ridiculous. I have also had 3, yes 3 salesman come to my door and the last 2 still wanted to get my info even though I told them I already talked to one of their co-​workers. So unprofessional. I am convinced they are in business because they have bullied consumers and run them down after excessive phone calls.

Don’t do it. I threw the sales guy out of my house — that’s how my first time experience went with this company. They will try to up-​sale you at EVERY TURN, and then try to make you feel like your house is going to fall down around you if you don’t go with them. Good think for me I did a lot of research before I met with them AND I don’t like to be bullied. Tim was the salesperson. He’s HORRIBLE!
