History

Established in 1988.

Sally Smith and Sharon Kline launched SAVI in 1988, leasing a makeup station and facial room in a neighborhood salon. Growing the SAVI brand and business, they were later joined by Kelly Wilson. In November of 2006 SAVI opened the doors of our 5500 sq. ft. spa at the current location in Hotel Murano in downtown Tacoma. We proudly employ over 20 therapists and guest care specialists. We are grateful to our loyal clients and friends who have supported us and joined us in supporting the causes that mean so much to us.

Business Owner

Sally, Sharon and Kelly have been in the spa and beauty business for over 25 years. They share a passion for highlighting the individual beauty in women. The SAVI Ladies love being connected to and contributing to the community through charitable work. They each sit on committees to produce events and fundraisers for local organizations such as The American Heart Association, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Homeless Backpacks, The Tacoma Art Museum and more. The Ladies are proud of the SAVI staff and the space for health, beauty and celebration they have created.

I visit Tacoma about every other year for a Fiber Festival known as Madrona. It is held in the Hotel Murano and I book a massage for a treat. The massage itself is always blissful. The staff wonderful and I leave feeling relaxed.
This year, it seemed to me that little things are being neglected. Most notably were the long scratches in the grey paint along the walls in the therapy room, and in the changing stall. They are clearly a result of where chairs have scraped against the wall. They are very obvious in the midst of the grey paint. It would seem an easy fix with a paint brush. Without that attention to detail, it felt a little shabby and that made me sad.

I am new to the Tacoma area, so finding all my new spots is challenging. As a last minute deal, because of my tight shoulders/​hips, I booked with «Brandon». She said he is «new» and they are getting positive feedback. Well, that massage was AMAZING! I have found my new massage therapist in Tacoma, Brandon at Savi Day Spa! Thank you Brandon!

My day at Savi was amazing. My massage from the new guy (sorry don’t remember his name) was the best I have ever had. It was the perfect amount of pressure and he hit all soothing spots (yes I said that). The facial I had was wonderful. Had compliments the next day about my complexion. The pedi was good. But so so. The massage paid more attention to my massage of the feet then the sweet lady doing my pedi.

I love to get pampered at Savi Day Spa! As a stay at home mom I don’t get out much to take care of myself. So when I get some free time, I want to make sure it is worth it. I am treated like a queen from the minute I pull up to the curb by valet parking. Once I enter the beautiful hotel I forget about my messy house at home as I take in the trendy décor around me. When I check into the spa I am greeted by the beautiful front desk staff and taken back to change into my robe and begin relaxing. Although they are always running on time, I don’t mind spending a couple extra minutes catching up on my magazine reading in the cozy waiting room. The owner Jen does an amazing job customizing a facial for your specific needs. Each time it is a little different depending on what time of year it is and what my skin is in need of. I can tell she truly cares about the condition of my skin and wants me to walk away looking my best. She is very knowledgeable on products and techniques as I am always full of questions. Jen is full of suggestions and lets me know how I can take care of my skin at home.

I booked a Broadway pedicure ($ 65/​60min) and fresh mani ($ 30/​30min) for today.
A little disappointed that I couldn’t take advantage of valet parking because all the hotel guests were checking out, but it was Sunday so street parking was plentiful and free.
The spa had the relaxing environment I was looking for, and the open space was a welcome change to the traditional spa.
Pedi and mani were meh. Pedicure lasted 40 minutes, manicure lasted 10. I didn’t get polish on my fingers, but the girl didn’t even bother to buff my nails. She was very rough pushing back my cuticles and pinched when trimming them. My husband noticed I still have rough heels.
Polishes were old and half were separated, and there weren’t any recent polishes. I had very few pastel options for spring.
My nails look fine but the overall experience was lacking. I probably won’t be back.

I would not recommend Savi Day Spa facials or waxing services.
My skin was very irritated from the facial, and parts of my face scabbed and flaked (I do not have dry skin).
The wax was very hot and the epilation specialist didn’t have a cold compress to apply to the waxed area. Which you should have. The area around my eyebrows became inflamed and sensitive for days.
The services that they offer are also very expensive and aren’t worth the pricing.

We were staying in the hotel, and I booked a massage and facial. Neither was out of this world, but they were good enough. The customer service was great both when booking my times and while on-​site. I’d definitely return if I were in the area, but I wouldn’t make a special trip for it.

As for the massage itself it was great but the staff was rude. I was quoted on the phone for a deep tissue massage and hot stone for $ 145. At the register I was ignored for about a minute even there were two receptionists sitting, talking to each other. I felt as if I were buying from teenagers at the mall, not a pricey massage, which might be a regular for some people. Finally I was helped and the receptionists totaled me up at $ 179. They did not offer to give me the quoted price until I insisted that what they were doing was not right. Honestly staff need to know the prices and I they don’t know they new to have good enough customer service to acknowledge that they made the mistake. Never going back, the whole experience was ruined after I felt like I had to defend myself.

I have been going to Savi Day Spa for a couple of years for massages and facials. The staff are all great and the environment is none other than the most relaxing i have ever experienced.
I am always recommending friends and family and always refer to Savi Day Spa as SO RELAXING.

Thank you to SAVI Day Spa for a wonderful Shellac manicure! The environment is very relaxing, clean, and «spa like» in the best way possible. I received great customer service and will definitely be a repeat customer!
Also, valet parking at Hotel Murano is free with validation from SAVI! Made getting to my appointment that much easier.

A fancy hotel warrants a fancy spa, and I was one of those people that saw the ad in my room and thought it would be a good idea to wedge in some time for a massage. I’m glad I did.
Due to some poor planning, I accidentally scheduled a 10 AM appointment on a day when I was working until 6 in the morning, so I was only with three hours of sleep while I was getting massaged, but however tired I thought I might be, it didn’t compare to the work the guy was doing to my back. Seriously, he went back in time to find stuff from my childhood. Then, he even went a little bit over the hour so as to give proper attention to the foot/​calf area, all the while giving some useful advice on the working out, stretching, and generally avoiding the miserable life that can come when your back is achy all the dang time. I wish I would have remembered his name so as to mention him, but — again — three hours of sleep, so I’m surprised I didn’t snore through the whole thing.

I cannot speak for the actual spa services, but I can tell you that the customer service is extremely lacking.
I purchased a Living Social deal for Savi and went in to exchange it for my gift card. I was informed that they no longer honor Living Social deals and that is «my issue now» and not theirs.
I have been looking for an upscale, calm spa in Tacoma and was excited to give Savi a try. I can tell you with enthusiasm: i will never be a Savi patron based on this one experience.

They cancelled my spray tan appt. an HOUR before my appt. time (6pm) because they said they RAN OUT OF TANNING SPRAY. I needed the spray tan for a dress I’m wearing tomorrow night because I’m going out of town. I don’t have time now to find another place and they didn’t bother offering to help me in any way, just a half– ass apology. I’ve never been there and never will now. It was like pulling teeth to even GET an appointment and then the have to cancel it? That’s a great first impression… not! I guess this is how they treat people with a gift certificate. They already have their money so there is no incentive to actually treat the person using it with any good customer service.

Came here with my sister for some fancy birthday pedicure’s. We checked in and were explained the three options for pedi’s, ranging from $ 45 to $ 65, the higher one having a «full hour’s treatment including a food and leg massage» SOLD! The pedi’s were so-​so, honestly my trimming, filing and painting is better at home, and I am no pro. Once in the car (keep in mind after the pedi, massage, drying, full tour of the two floor salon/​spa, cashing out AND getting my car from valet…) we were in and out in 45 minutes. What happened to my «full hour’s treatment including a food and leg massage» for $ 65.00? (Almost $ 80.00 after tip!)

I had an extremely pleasant and relaxing experience. I went here because of the groupon and it was a very good deal — half price. The groupon and the website says that you get a warm foot soak with a facial, but I didn’t get one. Not sure why that happened…
The woman who performed the facial was very nice, and asked all about my skin, allergies, etc. before the facial began. She wore gloves throughout the entire procedure. She did not do extractions for blackheads, which I have had during other facials. But that was not listed on the website, so perhaps they don’t do it in the Savi facials.
I will definitely consider coming back when they do another Groupon deal, but I would not pay full price. They don’t have a sauna, steam room, locking lockers or any other fancy add-​ons I have experienced at other spas.
The lobby to the hotel is pretty cool too, very ultra modern décor. If I have a spa date next time or a good book to read, I’m totally getting a drink in the lobby bar.
Bring cash for the tip since they do not allow adding a tip on a credit/​debit card. Spa goers can get valet parking validated; make sure to get the ticket stamped at the spa.

My husband and I went there to get a couples pedicure for our anniversary. I had been there several times before and enjoyed it. But this time (and it was a special day for us) the girl was so preoccupied that the guy she dated the night before showed up that she forgot to get us the drink we ordered then flooded the tub and had to stop our service to clean it up. And the worst part was she could not stop talking about her date! We were their for our anniversary not to hear about her hot date.
I will never go back.

Savi Day Spa is like coming home to a warm cup of hot chocolate on a cold rainy day. It’s warm, inviting, and full of luxurious treatments. The staff is phenomenal — just as warm and inviting as their surroundings. Their product line is the top of the line and the staff is great about educating you about what you need without the pressure to purchase.
My nails and skin are certainly grateful to Savi:)

I went here today for a pedicure. Valet parking was nice. It is very serene and cozy. The layout allows for a lot of natural light with the big skylights. My tech was very kind and gentle and reassured me about my «winter feet» which I appreciated…
They take their allotted time to work on you and pamper you. The pedicure area was clean and comfy. They use OPI with a pretty big selection of somewhat classic colors. I brought my own because I’m very specific but, as usual, I perused and tried a bunch on ‘cuz thats really fun!
A++ service and totally worth the price!
