Sean, my business partner and cousin, and I followed in our grandfather’s footsteps, starting Ranger Heating & Cooling in 2004. We’ve grown up with HVAC in our blood, running around «Papa’s» HVAC distribution warehouse in Kent. He started his first HVAC installation and sheet metal fabrication company in the late 50’s, and after about a decade moved into the distribution side of the industry. For Sean and me, Hide and Go Seek in the warehouse eventually turned into loading box-​trucks and running fork lifts, and finally in late 2003, we put our knowledge of duct work and equipment into the installation and service side of the business. After almost 10 years of amazing customer service, we still find new ways to give more to and serve our customers. Sean or I are on 9 out of 10 jobs, ensuring the best quality and a 99% no call-​back rate. We believe that while equipment and labor warranties are good and very necessary, equipment that just runs reliably is the best.

Our tired heat pump and air handler needed to be replaced after 20 years. We contacted 3 companies for proposals on its replacement. Ranger was very professional in their bidding process. We were given a formal computer generated bid for the work including tax. One company scratched out their bid on a piece of paper then I got to interpret his writing after he left. Needless to say Ranger received our business. They scheduled an acceptable date and were on time and completed the replacement in one full day. They left the area clean and everything is working great. Ranger has followed up with registration for warranty and provided us with copies of the invoice and warranty for our records. Plus, they indicated copies of the information will be kept in their files if we may need them in the future. Excellent company to work with.

we had a new heat pump system put in. these guys are as professional as they come. i was super impressed with the quality of their products and competency of their workers. I would highly recommend them. They work fast too. the whole thing including taking out the old system was done in a day and everything was cleaned up spotless!

After looking at several options we decided to go with Ranger Heating for our new system. We decided we wanted to go with a Heat pump system so that we would have cooling and heating, but also needed to replace the furnace for a backup heating source. They did a great job answering our questions, educating us on the different options, and guiding us to the right solution. I remember in our meeting that I was told that we would love the difference on how the system maintained the temperature, but I had no idea what that meant until after we have used it for a few months. All I can say is we love our system and how consistent the temperature in the house is at all times. The install was completed all in one day as promised, and everyone working for Ranger Heating was professional to work with. I would and have recommended them to both family and friends and do so with confidence that they will take care of them.

Last year we remodeled our kitchen and master bath. As a «while you’re at it,» we wanted to replace our 15-​year-​old water heater. The contractor sent Sean from Ranger Heating & Cooling, who priced out the water heater and compared it to a tankless system. He convinced us to go with the tankless system and we have been very happy with it– have never run out of hot water since. Sean was very professional and prompt. We live on an island with only ferry access, so it takes a bit of planning to be prompt.
Recently our heater stopped working. We called Sean, who diagnosed the problem as a dead blower motor and gave us a range of options. Given the age of our system, we upgraded to a Trane XR80 furnace and programmable thermostat. It took the team of 2 only a couple hours to replace the system and demonstrate its features. They were meticulous in their work. The system is really efficient-​the house was a chilly 55 degrees. Within maybe 3 hours it was a cozy 70. We appreciate the guidance we received in selecting this furnace.
We highly recommend Ranger and their team for any HVAC service or installation.

My husband and I were recently in the market for a heat pump and furnace.
We got a few quotes, and decided to go with Ranger because we have had a Trane system in the past and were happy with it. And Jeremy presented us with a super professional bid. He followed up with us to answer questions and we felt really confident moving forward. We actually upgraded to a tankless hot water system at the same time which wasn’t the original plan, but we felt it was worth the investment.
From the initial call from Jessie, I have been impressed with every single staff member I have been in contact with. When the installation team, Daniel and Matt came I was pleased with the respect and conscientiousness. They wore shoe covers and drop cloths of course, but also they used my name instead of calling me Ma’am. The second day they worked 14 hours without a sigh or a peep of complaint.
I had a couple questions about the system and the gasline that was relocated, Sean came right out and has blown us both away with the willingness to support us all and getting everything working to our 100% satisfaction.
I am so happy we decided to go with Ranger for this investment.
I have complete and total faith that Ranger will continue to stand behind their work. We are lifelong customers and we will be sharing about our experience to anyone we know who needs similar work done at their home.

Made an appt 3 weeks out for special $ 79.95 furnace service. First appt of the day at 8am. Took two hours off from my job. The appt was confirmed the previous business day for 8am. What you get for special rate is no one showing up at 8, you will get a phone call at 8:11 to say we’ll be another 20 minutes. If the first appt of the day is already 30 minutes late and counting, I can’t imagine what the folks in the afternoon do while sitting around waiting for these guys to show up. I called them back and told them to not bother coming to my house as I would not be doing business with their company. I have zero trust for folks who can’t show up on time. I will find a company with reliable staff and pay more if that’s what it takes. Advice to vendor: Don’t treat customers like the cable company and expect to keep their business.

These guys are the best. They were warm and polite on the phone. I called without an answer (probably on the other line) and Jessie called me back right away. She had a friendly and nice demeanor every time I spoke to her on the phone and in email. I had to reschedule my in home consultation multiple times due to a lot of unplanned and unfortunate circumstances, but we finally got an appointment without something terrible happening the books. Jeremy was my consultant and spent a lot of time with me explaining every detail and option available for my circumstances. He did not pressure me at all and never tried to up sell me. He was honest and straight forward. Since my project was a small scale heating and cooling pump install, he got me in a few days from my appointment. Janace was very helpful with setting that up. That was a pleasant surprise since everyone wants AC with the ongoing heat wave. Shaun was my lead installer. I think the other man’s name was Chris, but I forgot. They were polite, caring, and clean. They wore booties and layed cardboard down to walk on (even though my carpet is icky and is next on my wish list). The electricians were also great. They moved my heavy couch and moved it back to access some of my electrical and my previous baseboard units. They were also very nice to my large dog and gave her many pets (APBT and American bulldog mix). She approved! Another nice thing with Ranger besides their customer service is their commitment to satisfaction. They have reassured me many times that if I have ANY issues to let them know and have a satisfaction guaruntee. They offer 0 percent financing, financing with interest with Wells Fargo, and rewards for referrals. All of other bids and companies had things I did not like, steep price, or sub par customer service. I have no complaints at all with Ranger. No more baking myself. Thank you!

As homeowners for nearly 30 years, we’ve made many upgrades over the years requiring the assistance of local businesses. Recently, we hired Ranger Heating & Cooling to install a Trane Air Conditioning system and they were superior in every way possible. From Jeremy who guided us through the decision, to the office staff, and the competent, courteous installation team, the entire process was smooth and well executed. Our 40-​year-​old home didn’t make this a slam-​dunk job but the professionals at Ranger did an outstanding job and I can’t imagine how things would have turned out if I hadn’t chosen them to install our AC Unit. From my experience, they seem exceptionally capable and knowledgeable and we are 110% satisfied with Ranger. The Trane AC cools the house quickly and feels so refreshing — so glad that hot, sticky nights are behind us, windows are securely shut, and noisy fans are gone. We highly recommend Ranger Heating & Cooling and are confident that you will be just as pleased as we have been.

Scheduled and completed an estimate for installing AC. Ultimately did not use Ranger because my existing furnace system is Carrier and decided to go with another vendor to avoid potential warranty issues. That said, I would recommend anyone looking for Trane system to give Ranger Heating and Cooling a call if you are looking for prompt and professional service.

Ranger Heating and Cooling removed my 7 year old pile of junk Goodman furnace and replaced it with a Trane furnace and added a Trane heat pump. From my first phone call to completion of the install I can say without a doubt that Ranger is highly professional in all departments of the company.
The install crew did a fantastic job and was very courteous to make sure they kept my house clean from the garage to the inside of my house, they always put on the shoe covers and vacuumed the area they were in. The install crew never seemed to rush to get the job done. They took their time and made sure the job was done correctly. To me this is the way it should be.
I can’t think of anything negative to say about this company. Price seemed good for what I was getting and compared to Lenox and Carrier all three were around the same price. I did a lot of research on different brand furnaces and price always seemed to be around the same but Trane had the best reviews.
I would recommend Ranger Heating and Cooling to anyone in the market for any of their heating or cooling needs. These guys are top notch. No strings or B.S. with Ranger.

After being ‘stood up’ by one of the 3 companies we’d contracted for furnace estimates, I got online for another option and found Ranger Heating. Even though I called after hours, Sean gave me a call back within 30 minutes. We let him know we needed a furnace ASAP — even though he didn’t have any openings until the following week, he squeezed us in to his schedule the next evening and keep us apprised of when he would be at our house (after another install he had been doing that day).
Of all the reps we met with Sean was by far the most easy-​going, friendly and professional. He didn’t try to talk us into anything we didn’t need (he actually talked us out of a higher price furnace stating we didn’t need it for the size of our house) and was very patient in answering all our questions despite the late hour. When I asked about his experience he shared that he’d been in the business 10+ years and actually started in the trade as part of a family enterprise.
Ultimately we went with another company — not because of Sean or the very fair estimate he gave us, but because of a specific product we wanted (plus the company we went with handled the permits without cost to us which was great).
If we have any issues with our furnace after the labor warranty expires, I’ll be contacting Sean at Ranger.

I have worked with Shawn on numerous jobs and he is very professional and does a very good job! I’d recommend Ranger heating to anyone ! I usually get subcontracted by Ranger to install the electrical side of their heating and cooling units and they are one of my favorites to work with. You won’t regret hiring Ranger heating !

Both times the guy was great, friendly, helpful and within the time they said they’d arrive. Their prices both times were fair & reasonable. Initially a little late, but the wait was worth it. The technician that came out was professional and thorough. Did a great job and at a reasonable cost. Would definitely recommend.
