Pump It Up of Tacoma

The hours are awful but the kids have tons of fun what can I say… The staff needed some serious personal hygiene help as well! But the kids enjoy it… What else can I say, I really enjoyed the previous owners the new owners seem unorganized and very unprofessional! Blah

The staff are super friendly and play with the kids! My kids LOVE Pump It Up, but I definitely would only come if I had a groupon deal to use. The standard pricing is over-​prices in my opinion, but groupon or Unilocal deals are usually available and fair. **TIP: have your kids wear shorts and a t-​shirt, and comfortable clothing/​athletic wear. They will get sweaty!

My daughter had her birthday party here. I will start with the fact that it is expensive if you want the full party experience. We added the bubbles, glow party, and piñata and it ended up being about $ 450.00 on a Saturday, plus tip. The piñata is not worth the additional price. It had about 12 pieces of candy in it. Don’t do the piñata. The bubbles and glow stuff was really cool though. The glow was my favorite. Even though it was expensive, it was really worth it. The kids had an amazing time and even the adults. The two rooms are so cool. The party staff was super nice and did a great job hosting the party. It was so much fun. I called a couple of times prior and had everything arranged. The person I talked on the phone with was super nice.

I really like this place and my kids always have a great time! my daughter had a birthday here and the staff were polite and helpful. I have also come on open jump times too. My only complaint is the décor. It feel like you are going into a dungeon. The lighting is poor which make it look worse! Just my opinion, others may feel it doesn’t matter but I barely bring my kids here because it feels so depressing! lol

I was recently contact by the new owners of Pump It Up in Tacoma, WA. I was beyond satisfied with the customer service this new owner gave me. He was very nice and apologized for the previous owners and management’s way of treating me earlier in the year. We came to a full agreement from the issue I had and settled all dissatisfactions. They offered to refund my deposit in full due to the specific circumstances of the issue. I am happy and open to now doing business with them in the future.

Recently attended a birthday party here and the kids had a blast! We have been to a few Pump It Up locations and this one seems to have recently been renovated with newer rides which was a plus.
On a separate note, we held our kids birthday at the Kirkland location and noticed that the food was not served to the kids whereas at this location, the staff took care of everything. Would certainly recommend this.

Check the hours they are open, they are wonky. Kids love this place. With 6 different play structures and a block area they do not get bored. But with the different age groups the little ones are prone to getting trampled and they only have 1 attendant. I follow my little around making sure she isn’t damaged. Once my 3 year old hits 5 I can relax more I’m sure. Also the water fountains don’t work. Bring your own water!!!

Attended a birthday party here for a 5 — year old. It was my first time here but it was my daughter’s third event here… I was impressed with the staff’s concern for safety and with how the whole process worked. The staff literally timed us as we went from room to room to keep us on a schedule. It was great to go from the first set of play toys to another room of new toys. The staff were very good with dealing with young kids. It misses a 5 star rating because of cleanliness– I noticed some heavy build-​up of dust on the play toys in areas not regularly transited by kids and when we walked into the party room [where the food was served] the floor was sticky. They need to mop more often and clean off the slides on the areas less traveled… on the wall climb with little velcro strips, they need to find/​replace the missing strips. This is obviously a fun place for young kids to blow off steam and have some great memories.

Terrible place to have a party… they lost the reservation, couldn’t be bothered to put brought soda into a fridge, and wouldn’t allow the brought ice cream to be served with the birthday cake. Ridiculous!

Some how I’ve ended up at this place for the last three years and every time it’s been a less than desirable experience. The staff is comprised of facetious and condescending teenagers who make no apologies for the shortcomings of the establishment nor do they recognize the value in making concessions for the sake of repeat business. The experience costs $ 500 for 90 minutes, I could spend $ 100 at Chuck E Cheese or Charlie Safari and hang out there all day long.

Good place to burn off the kids’ energy. Music is too loud, however. Many of the employees are good with kids. The staff appear to keep both the play equipment and parent areas clean.

A really fun party place for kids!
I came here with my step-​son who was invited to attend a friend’s birthday party. The staff moved the party along through a couple different rooms after so much time had passed. The adults were allowed to play with the kids. First there were slides that went from the floor to the ceiling to slide down. Then there was a boxing ring with gigantic, soft boxing gloves. They had a room with safety googles for the kids to shoot plastic balls at one another through air pumped toy guns. They also had air hockey, regular bounce houses, and more. All of the kids, from ages 6 on up to teenagers, had a blast. So did the parents!
The last part was going into a room with a big «throne» for the birthday girl to be sung to where she received a tiara by the staff. They brought in pizza and cake, and she opened her presents. We weren’t able to linger as another party was coming in behind us, but that’s to be expected.

We had my daughter’s 7 bday party here, we had about 15 guest and it was so much fun for parents and kids, we got the rooms private to ourselves, parents were jumping and racing with the kids, building stuff with the big blocks and then next was the most fun of all, NEON lights on the other room (lights went off), bigger slide, the father’s were of course trying to prove themselves to reach the highest point of the slide (to what you have to jump up to and stick a little flag w/​Velcro) the kids had neon light necklaces, and there was a touch screen on the floor for games, it was just great!
Then we went over to the cake time, I brought my own care but bought their pizza and drinks and all that (I did brought my own goody bags) the staff set up everything and serve the food to the guest too, they help daughter open presents and keep it all arranged nicely, the lights went off for the candles part, and they helped me hand out the goody bags at the end of the party, time wise, it was perfect, kids got to play, run around, eat and get tired. The kids at the end LOVED it! so much a couple of them went back to do their parties there too!
Price wise was worth it for me to have peace of mind and worry about nothing but to get the child there and enjoy the party with her, make sure everyone brings socks, and your own camera, yes they take pictures there but its not the best pictures. lol sorry its just not memories quality, not to blame the staff because its hard to catch up with everyone Pumped up! lol

Tonight I brought my 5 year old daughter for the «Parent Night Out», I was a little nervous and thought I would hang out for a bit to make sure she was comfortable. We were there less than 5 minutes, she had already made a friend and the teen working had connected with her. She waved me out the door and was off playing. I arrived a half hour early for pick up and was pleasantly surprised to see all the kids enjoying pizza and juice. Everyone was happy (including the workers) and my daughter asked me to come back and get her later. This is the greatest program! For $ 20 she received 3 hours of play in a clean, safe and fun environment and was fed! Well worth every penny, my daughter was already asking when she could go back as we were walking out the door!

Great place, took my son for some open play time, he loved it. Great for a toddler with tons of energy. He is 21 months so it was free which was a cool surprise! They start charging at 2yrs. Its 8 bucks for 2 hrs which is a awesome deal. I’m excited to bring him back and plan his b day party!

My daughter just had her 10^th birthday party here and she and her friends had an amazing time. That’s what it’s all about, right? Right.
Given that we have a lot of weird food issues — allergies, some kosher family members, others just plain picky — we brought our own cake and planned the timing so we weren’t hitting meal time. They provided plates, cups, napkins, and forks.
Right away, everything was very easy for us. There’s a bin to put the gifts in as you come in with your kid’s name on it. No hauling stuff around — they roll it all for you. They have a rolling cart to hold all the random junk kids seem to haul around, a shoe/​coat cubby rack that rolls from room to room with you. You check in a few minutes early, so one of the party hosts came to play a few games in the waiting area with kids that were there on time or early. They show the kids a short video with the playing rules (which gathered a lot of «aw, man!“s from the kids in our group — no running up the slide is apparently a major bummer) and then you’re off to the first play space.
The first play space seems designed to be fun for everyone but especially to wear out any smaller kids in your group. We didn’t feel rushed at all but maybe that’s because we were there at a non-​prime time. There’s a $ 2 wind tunnel that your kids are going to beg for cash for, so be sure to bring a few ones. We didn’t tell the kids in advance that there were two play rooms, so when the party host announced that it was time to move on, the kids were super-​excited — there’s a whole ‘nother room?! And indeed, there is. This one seems a little more geared for the bigger kids — a post-​the-​flag wall you have to run up, a climbing wall with a taller slide, and a smaller inflatable in the middle that will handle the (probably tired) little kids. It works as planned, if that’s the case, because the littles in our group tried out the bigger things but then stuck with the smaller inflatable and the projector game on the floor, giving the bigger kids space to be a little more rambunctious. All of the kids were red-​faced, tired, and thirsty by the time we hit the party room. It wasn’t difficult to keep them quiet for cake and present opening and everyone was happy to head out to the cars and head home.
Best of all? No clean up. No mess. No fuss. It was, by far, the calmest kid’s birthday I’ve dealt with as an adult. Some of the adults even participated — way less awkward than standing around one of our living rooms.
I’d love to see a clearer indication of where the bathrooms are, more clarity on how to get more of basic things (like water for very thirsty, tired kids,) and some up-​front information on the pictures they take. I had to ask about the pictures (and was more than happy to pay the $ 10 and tax for them, they got some great pictures while I was busy helping out with my little guy.) Small things, in the scheme of a kid’s birthday, where so much can go wrong and tears are the last thing you want. None of those here.

Went here for a birthday party–
these people are on such a tight schedule that you feel rushed out of your birthday party. They were playing music throughout the building, one of the rooms we were in had a busted speaker, and it made it almost unbearable to be in that room. the party room is tiny as well.
there are other venues similar to this that provide a better bang for the buck.

Having been guests at pump it up parties my kids and I had a blast so we decided to have our sons 7^th birthday party here. I scheduled the party a week and a half in advance. I should have done it sooner as there weren’t many times left available, but this wasn’t a big deal. The hardest part was trying to work around their schedule of extra events to bring kids to! They offer free invitations online, I checked them out, but didn’t care for them, so we created our own invitations. Throughout the party they took photos (AWESOME) and the kids all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I couldn’t have asked for more!
Here’s where the not so great part comes in. They are supposed to call you a couple of days in advance to confirm if you are ordering food or not etc. They never called. I didn’t realize it until we were on our way to the party (Thank god we had no plans of ordering food right!?!). No worries when we got there, we were still in the system. The gal working our party showed me the paper with my number on it when I mentioned i didn’t get a call. It was my cell number. She said they had tried to call but it had been disconnected (Completely not true, my number hasn’t been disconnected ever since I got it turned on 3 years ago). I was able to order soda and had brought my own cupcakes, which they did put out nicely and I didn’t have to actually host any part of they party (Super nice when you have 5 kids to host parties for each year). Also, all those great pictures that they took throughout the party, it was never mentioned to me that I’d have to pay $ 12 to get those pictures. The cost isn’t such a big deal, except that I wasn’t told about being charged until 2 days later when I couldn’t pull the pictures from their website and I called them… by then it was to late to get copies, they’d all been deleted is what I was told. I’m sorry, but if I’m already paying almost $ 300 for a 2 hour party, I expect that there will be a little better communication from the staff, ESPECIALLY in terms of extra costs… not only did they not provide pictures of my sons party (I took some of my own thankfully), which was rude to us, but they also missed out on part of a sale.
My kids will be disappointed because I will not book another party through them, but there are other companies and other Pump it Up locations that offer this same experience throughout the puget sound. I’ll be trying them out before I contemplate booking another party with Pump it Up in Tacoma!

Another good options for a child’s birthday party…
I have been multiple times and the kids always seem to enjoy themselves but I really don’t see anything extraordinary about this place and what it offers. For the price they charge what they provide is about right. This particular location could improve on there employees, as alot of them are very young and don’t understand the value of a job and atleast acting like they enjoy it:(
If only I could be a teenager again and get paid to jump around and play with kids all day.
