Welcome to Puget Sound Locksmith’s (Tacoma) location. Our shop is located right behind the Tacoma Mall just up the street from the Post Office. We are family owned and operated since 2001. We are real local locksmiths, not those out of state scam companies that have been giving locksmith’s a bad name over the last few years.

History

Established in 2001.

This is a family owned and operated business since it was founded in 2001. Mom is the owner and the two sons and oldest grandson are the worker bee’s of this outfit. Thanks to a brother in-​law who showed us the ropes and provided us with training back in the 90’s. The two brothers have been working in the trade over 15 years now. We an opportunity to purchase an existing business in 2001 became available the youngest brother jumped at it and the rest is history :)

I did one of those things that happen when you are in a hurry… I locked my keys in the car. Ugh I grabbed my wallet, locked the door and went to shut it at the exact same time I dropped the keys in my car. I used Unilocal to find a local locksmith (with good reviews). I am so glad I called. The locksmith was at my car within 10 minutes and about 45 seconds later I was back in my car, had paid and was ready to go
The gentleman was nice, polite, and very professional. If you need a locksmith give this company your business.

They do laser cut keys here so that was a plus! They did it for less than half the price Lexus was quoting me for. They even wrote down my key number so just in case I get locked out of my car or lose my keys, they can quickly cut me a new one without the original key. Very fast service and highly recommended. The price was great for the value!

I needed some keys made, and most of them were old or speciality keys (like my camper trailer). Puget Sound Locksmiths was great, fast, quick, and cheap. I just got home and all the keys work perfectly. If you need a key made, you can go have a computer make it at a big store or you can go here and have it done by a human being and support a local business.

I work graveyard shift in the office of a warehouse and tonight one of my drivers happen to lock his keys and phone in his Semi when he came into my office to have his paperwork processed. Called around and this place was the 3rd one on the list (it was out of the Pine Street office btw). A male answered and the driver proceeded to ask him if it were possible to unlock his Semi and how long it would take to arrive here. The guy on the phone blatantly said he didn’t want to deal with that and HUNG UP! I’m big on customer service especially via phone because that can be a first impression of a business and how they are with customers solely based on how they treat someone over the phone. This place will NEVER get my business NOR will I ever recommend it to anyone on a personal or business basis. EVER!

We called today after locking ourselves out of the house and were quoted $ 25 plus $ 20 depending on the type of lock. After less than 10 minutes for a bottom lock (no deadbolt) we were charged $ 139. Absolutely misleading. Would’ve gone with the other company had we known the true cost. Not a happy camper

These guys are amazing! I was having trouble finding a place that could make a key for my 2011 Hyundai Accent, but after seeing a review from someone who was having the same problem, I decided to give them a try. They were quick, courteous, and most importantly cheap. They also guarantee their products, so on the off chance the key they make you doesn’t work, you can bring it back.

Two years ago Bill came to replace my door locks at my new home, he made the effort to use used parts to keep the cost down as well as locating a skeleton key to open an original lock in my old home. He worked fast and was straight forward. I called him again today to replace the lock for the rental property I own and he is coming out same day. Very pleased.

Just what I needed. I recently bought my first home and I needed both the front door and the mailbox re-​locked. I found Puget Sound Locksmith on Unilocal and saw all the five star reviews so I decided to call them. I spoke with Mark who quoted me the price over the phone. We made an appointment for the next day. He called and asked permission to arrive about a half hour early because he had a cancellation. He showed up and replaced the locks promptly and efficiently. Double plus because he was patient and tolerated my newly adopted rescued German Shepherd that barked constantly at him. I apologized and he said it was ok and he told me about his own basset hound that he had rescued. Any dog lover is good people in my book! I’m happy with my service and would recommend this company to anyone.

Outstanding service. Same day service, showed up within two minutes of the start of the window they gave me, less than 30 minutes later all four doors were rekeyed and 5 spare keys cut. First, I’m sorry I forgot to write this when they came to help me in March. New homes are a lot of work, and it starts with OPENING THE DOOR! These guys showed up promptly the day I called them. I had a front door that was locked closed with no keys. Not only did they re-​key the locks on three doors with dead bolts to match one new key, the door that was permalocked had OLD hardware, possibly orignal, and they went to the trouble of going to their shops and digging through old parts to find things that would work so we could keep the original pieces. I couldn’t be happier with the service and the price. THANK YOU!!!

So I needed to get some locks changed for a rental property and had no clue who to call. The reviews on locksmith both online & Unilocal seem to be lacking so I decided to call them all up and see who would answer at 7pm. The man I spoke with on the phone (feel bad forgetting his name but its been a few months) was really helpful on giving me pricing, patient, and was cool with me calling around! Now that I think about it he asked me if I had others to call. After calling around I decided that this place was on par when it came to pricing but the customer service was the best out of all the places I called.
So dude pulls up next day in this LIME green van! This was straight up Ghostbusters status (Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!).
The locksmith replaced three doors with of locks for me both deadbolts & the regular locks. I think this came out to around $ 140?
An added bonus is he accepts credit cards and has the credit card scanner attached to his iPhone & I was the first customer he used it with too!
Definitely recommend Puget Sound Locksmiths!
