I found a hair in my soup(zzambung?) first time, I just thought it could be from the cooker but I realized it was not from human… Because it is very short and white compared with human… I guessed it was from a cat at that time… After awhile, my friend said I was right because there was somebody who saw a cat inside of restaurant. Horrible experience…

2.5ish Wouldn’t come back here again — unless someone takes me. The wait wasn’t long, but the food itself was worse than what I’m accustomed to eating. Jjajangmyun(black bean noodles) were bland; noodle consistency good, but sauce was lacking. too watery and without impact. It was the dullest jjajangmyun I’ve had. The jjamppong(the spicy seafood noodle dish) was better, but its inability to impress with its broth was made up for with all of the green peppers dumped into it. The marinated chicken we ordered on the side was by far the tastiest. However, the taste of ketchup repelled me. Those with me loved it. The sauce tastes good when mixed with rice. It is a sweet sauce so don’t expect a salty, soy sauce chicken! If you like take out, this place can do just that for you.

Not sure why the name of this restaurant on Unilocal includes Phở because its official name is simply Hong Bo Suk. Restaurant focuses on Chinese and Teriyaki. The best jam bong in Tacoma & Federal Way. Prices are unbeatable. Space is very clean with large group tables available. I come here at least once a month for the jambong and tell them to make it EXTRASPICY. Definitely give this place a try. They will not disappoint!

I like the location of this place — close to Tacoma’s Korean town. I think their jajangmyun is the best in Tacoma. I’m not a fan of their sweet&sour(too much breading…) or any other dish. It’s edible but I feel like Royal Box does a better job. So I’m always split between better jajangmyen at Hong Bo Suk, or better everything else at Royal Box. Decisions, decisions.

I don’t want to downgrade this place on my first try(although I rate after a first time) but . on sunday, I came with a group of about 10 something people and I wasn’t really hungry. I ate something before church service and didn’t order anything but munched off someone’s(korean) sweet and sour pork(tang su yook). Honestly. I love tang su yook. and this was HORRIBLE… I couldn’t even swallor anymore than 5 bites… The deep fried pieces of breaded pork. was WRONG. Texture is what I go for. and this was definitely unappetizing… It was kind of soggy. and chewy… not crispy and crunchy… The sauce was kind of. nauseating and what not. I don’t know what the two guys had that were sitting in front of me. but I usually like seafood smell. but oh man. it smelled horrid! I would give it 1 star for what I experienced but. my mom comes here once in awhile and she absolutely loves the jjam bbong. so I give it 2 stars this time. I personally don’t like jjam bbong.

Phở… and Wok… And here I came several times and never tried there Phở or Wok… I come here for one reason and one reason only. The reasons people I know come to eat ja jang myun or Jam bong. Two koreanized chinese dishes that is not present in chinese restauarnt nor Korean restaurants but… chinese restaurants in korea or of similar ilk. Have to say Good mouth watering, Ja Jang Myung that you want to inhale is hard to come by here in the states. I can’t say Phở and Wok does it… but… of the places in Tacoma, it’s probably the best(rivaling some days of the food court in paldo world) And it seems like it’s not listed on the regular menu section but you have to ask for it.(only had to ask for it once when i went with a group of young people vs my parents age). Their meats, sea food, and etc they place in it??? pretty genourious. Would I drive more than half an hour to come eat here? No but… if you happen to be conviently located in tacoma and want some decent ja jang myung. Yes… come on come all and get your ja jang on.
