One Stop Dentistry – Mostafa Norooz DDS, MS, FAGD

I want to preface this by saying that the experience I had took place quite some time ago, so it’s possible they have improved since then.
At the time, my employer offered a really awful «insurance» program for dentistry. It was through Delta Dental and essentially amounted to a discount program for anything other than a yearly checkup (not even including X-​Rays or cleaning).
I found One Stop Dentistry when searching for dentists that do sedation dentistry, as I am absolutely petrified of having dental work done. They were advertising some kind of special that offered free X-​Rays and cleaning for new patients. Bingo! I wasn’t too worried about needing any more than that. Thanks to a good orthodontist when I was young, I’ve never even had a cavity.
When I made the appointment, I provided them all of my insurance information and they assured me that yes, the first visit would be free and they would be able to use sedation on me should I need it.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by very polite and cheery office staff. The facility looked beautiful and immaculate. Then the awkwardness started…
They offered me two things immediately: A granola bar, and coffee. That just struck me as really, really strange. That seems like the last two things you’d want to offer someone that you’re about to do dental work on. I just thought it was odd… like, «Would you like some bad breath and crap in between your teeth before we begin?». I thought they were joking. No points lost there, I just found it strange.
They then led me back to the exam room and the dental assistant disappeared for quite some time after putting the little bit they put between your teeth in order to take X-​Rays. A very, very uncomfortable amount of time went by. I could hear the assistant talking to a coworker, making what seemed like small talk. They literally forgot about me. A different assistant came in and looked confused as to why I was there. A few more uncomfortable minutes went by before they sorted it out, and the original assistant came in to finally take the X-​Rays. My gums were bleeding from the thing cutting into them, and when I tried to explain that afterward, she said, «That’s why flossing is so important.» OK…
So the doctor came in to introduce himself and look at my X-​Rays with me while the assistant began the cleaning. I think she was new, because he was definitely partially there to supervise and assist her at times. Now, it’s annoying enough when a dentist or a tech starts asking you questions when you’ve got your mouth wide open and full of gloved hands and torture devices. It’s worse when he starts lecturing you about the fact that you smoke… and asking why you do… and asking if you feel like a third class citizen and a social pariah, and letting you know it’s only going to get worse and more expensive when I can’t even get out «That’s why I’m in the process of cutting down and quitting. Ass.»
So then after this little piece of hell was done, they took me into a conference room where they had a quote worked up about all the work I supposedly needed to have done. Keep in mind, a year prior, I had a clean bill of health from my previous dentist. He was talking about things like getting fillings in about nine of my teeth «as a precaution» due to what he called something along the lines of «potential micro-​cavities» (I don’t recall the exact wordage, but he was saying these were tiny little pockets that are indications of weak spots in the tooth, which *could*, *potentially*, *someday* become full fledged cavities… or they may not. The price they quoted me was something around $ 10k. It was like a sales pitch; very high pressure. They didn’t even give me a chance to ask for a second opinion or say «thanks but no thanks» before asking how I’d like to pay for it… and then immediately letting me know I could sign up for their in-​house credit plan right there and even get a discounted rate if I signed up today. I eventually told them I’d have to get back to them and insisted that I would not be signing anything today.

Dr Norooz and is staff are nothing short of amazing! Kind, compassionate and they want nothing more then to help make your mouth as healthy as possible. I’ve always had problems with my teeth and I can honestly say that this is the only Dentist’s office I’ve been to where I didnt feel judged or made to feel bad regarding the state of my teeth! For the first time ever in my life I absolutely no anxiety about going to the dentist! Amazing place!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Norooz office for over 10 years.
So, everybody hates to go to the dentist, right? If more offices were like Dr. Norooz, people may change their minds.
The front desk staff is friendly and cordial — while the setting is professional.
Dr. Norooz himself is very professional and hilarious, too. He is very good with his timing — often waiting until you are fully numb before proceeding. His assistants are always at the ready and are able to keep up with her speed.
Dr. Norooz did implant, crowns and fillings for me, and I am so grateful to him for doing such a good job on my teeth.
Dr. Norooz has been a wonderful dentist. He is very attentive and patient in all the work he does. Besides Dr. Norooz being amazing, his staff absolutely backs him up. They always make you feel special and like you’re a personal friend. In all Dr. Norooz office has been nothing less than fantastic and have completely changed my outlook on dentists.

I feel blessed to have landed in Dr. Norooz’s office! He got me in the same day I called for severe pain. He set me up with an appointment for the procedure 2 days after our initial meeting.
His staff greeted me by my first name and made me feel like I was a guest in their home. When I first arrived the dental hygienist was taking x-​rays and Dr. Norooz came in to introduce himself before it was his turn to see me. When I left Dr. Norooz was waiting for me in the lobby to say goodbye. When I returned two days later it was him who came to get me from the lobby, not one of his assistants.
I was so nervous the entire time and after meeting Dr. Norooz i felt so relieved. I hate going to the dentist and Dr. Norooz made it feel like a breeze. After my procedure he called me and my friend who picked me up to make sure i was doing okay. The next morning he even texted me!
The price for everything was more than reasonable (I work in the dental industry so i know what the national averages are). The office assistant went over my treatment plan along with the costs and what my insurance plan would pay ahead of time. Dr. Norooz was so gentle and treated me like i was his own daughter. i hate going to the dentist and I cannot wait to go back to this place!
I would tell anyone who has dental anxiety to visit Dr. Norooz. He handles everything from pediatric dentistry to dental emergencies.

Very impressed with this team! I have not been to the dentist is over 15 years due to my fear of dentists. Dr. Norooz and his team made me feel at ease the minute I walked in the door. He didn’t make me feel embarressed about my teeth and the whole team catered to all my wacky needs! The girls up front were very professional and caring about going over my treatment plan, they even got me financing with a company called Care Credit! I came back for the sedation and Dr. Norooz was able to get the whole treatment plan done for in just one day! I definately will go back and tell all my friends about Dr. Norooz!
