Northwest Prospects Academy

NPA took over the building that my Boot Camp was being held at. This is now considered their NPA EAST FACILITY — PUYALLUP — 239 W Stewart Suite A&B Puyallup, WA 98 371.
When they took over the building, all the Boot Campers where excited about the possibility of a great association coming in! They featured our Boot Camp (Shawn Bell’s Boot Camp — 2 time Best of Western Wa Winner) on there website, and that’s about where it ended. I cannot attest to their program as how it functions, or how their rates compare to other’s, I can provide feedback on how they take care of their facility, and how they treat someone who pays them money for a service.
— I had to provide (with MY OWN money) hand soap for the bathrooms — they where out for weeks.
— One bathroom toilet was broken for at least a week, and off and on for about a month before.
— Our program was moved to an upstairs room that was not finished when our classes where needed to move.
–Missed classes because the room had a HOLE in the floor and a missing WALL!
–Then when our class was able to be held in the room, they started bringing weights in and setting up a weight room — NO MORE CLASS AGAIN!
Again, this is a review on how they take care of the facility — and people who write them a check. They have cashed about 4 of my checks and I couldn’t tell you who or what they look like — that;s how involved they are in programs. Just wanting money till something better comes around.
The room they are putting weights in is on the second story, and is probably not sound and should really be checked out by the city — having that much weight in a room that already had a hole in the floor doesn’t sound like a good idea — but not much of NPA’s professional experience does either…

I currently play softball for NPA on their 18u royals team and I played for them last year as well. I honestly cannot say enough positive things about this organization!
The coaching and training we receive is top of the line. All of the softball instructors played college ball which allows us to «learn from those who lived it». Coach Shawna Wright is the softball president for NPA and she played 4 years at UW, along with Niki Williams who went on to play softball professionally. Along with each having incredibly impressive careers, they are amazing role models and mentors. They truly live out what they preach and they have taught me just as much about confidence, believing in myself and going after my dreams as they have about the fundamentals of softball.
The facility is also the nicest I’ve ever practiced at. Softball uses the Tacoma location but they just opened up the Puyallup facility this year for baseball.
Practices are fast paced and they cover a lot of ground but the trainers have the ability to slow down and adapt to each players individual needs. My favorite part about practice is they don’t waste your time. The longest practice is about an hour and 45 minutes, which is pretty great!
Overall, if you’re looking for an organization to play for, you’re wasting your time going anywhere else. Coaches here truly love the sport, and they are just as passionate about teaching. That adds up to a great place to learn.

Horrible program with disrespectful owner. Be careful about paying for anything in this program. I spent hours on the phone after giving some constructive criticism and asking for refund and was told i was an uneducated parent and that they were under no obligation to refund us money (even though they do not make anyone sign a contract0. The training was minimal with about 30% of it just doing calisthenics and hardly any one on one time with the trainers. No improvement after months of training. And practice times were horrible (3:30 pm on Saturday)??? My son went in loving baseball more than anything and wanted out because it was absolutely no fun and was having an awful time.
When i brought this to their attention i was just told that it was just my kid that the program wasn’t working for. He was just not a good fit. YIKES!
Do not join this program.

Here’s my option on NPA so far, and let me add I will update the review once the season is over and I hope to add another star and make it a perfect 5!
So far, I am loving it!!! I have a 12yo daughter who «hearts,» fastpitch softball. She’s been playing rec since 3^rd grade and after her 1^st year of middle school fastpitch her desire to grow more became evident so my husband and I searched for a «select» team and after a couple tryouts with different teams we found NPA!!!
It’s currently off-​season training which consists of 3 practices a week. 2– hour and half and 1 hour long. They played a year end NSA tourney before the weather got too bad and placed 2^nd, not bad! The ladies running the program are all past UW Huskies alumni and they do an amazing job with the girls. They not only provide excellent training but are also role models of what life with fastpitch can take you and make you.
The indoor facility accomodates the growing team, we use the Tacoma location, they recently opened a Puyallup location as well. The staff that supports the office are very helpful.
I really haven’t found any flaws to date. My only meh is the cost as they are a little on the high end, I am finding out. But with saying that, you pay for what you get right? I’d rather pay knowing my daughter is getting excellent training then compromise for poor training and lack of desire all around…
Can’t wait for springtime and the girls to starting playing tourneys!!! Yay for NPA!

If you’re looking for a place to play competitive baseball, DO NOT go here! Aaron T’s «vision» of the teams that he runs out of his facility is that of a glorified rec team where you will pay upwards of 2−3K to get non-​competitive baseball. Take a look at the «Tigers» organization record and AT baseball «vision» to see for yourself. This is not competitive baseball, this is a rec league that you could pay a $ 100 for. Glad we didn’t have to pay, but everyone else is getting ripped off! His trainers also did not work on pitching at ALL during the season until the very last month, leaving our team struggling pitching wise (heard of others as well). The trainers that he hires, are great with the kids, which is why I’m OK with giving it ONE star, other than that, his program for «select» teams suck. Go somewhere else.
Every time it’s removed, I will add more information, including pictures of what Aaron said himself was his «vision» to prove my above statement.

We have been training at AT Complex for two years. The quality of the service and training cannot be compared to any place else we have been. My son and his playing continues to improve with every stroke of the bat. The employees stand behind every decision they make and have even been known to remove a coach for not adhering to the values of the business. They take the safety and health of every child who comes to their business seriously. Great place for kids to be.
