First off, I love the whole one-man-and-his-kitchen vibe. That means it isn’t quick food, it is real. It also means that they may be out of some things on the menu, but they may also have a surprise for you that isn’t listed. When we came, it was crawfish. I’d never had them before, and these bright-red little crustaceans had an amazing savory flavor and heat(tasted like a secret recipe for a brine is at work; a secret worth protecting). The owner came out and showed us how to eat crawfish properly — this added a lot to the night. Expect to spend close to $ 20 a person for the whole experience. You’ll want to try a couple of things, and these aren’t big portions(and how many times have you shelled that out for something mediocre and predictable at a chain). The food tastes like somebody really cares about it. If that sounds good to you, and you want something different from the typical NW fare, go for it.

We love this little hole in the wall place. I’m craving hushpuppies and sweet tea just thinking about it. I like the catfish too. Service is hit and miss. Prices are a little high. But there’s just something about this place that keeps us coming back. Quite possibly the hushpuppies and sweet tea

Not a very good New Orleans restaurant. Very overpriced, small portions, food does not taste that good, kinda blah.

This place is okay, nothing great. The portions are small, the prices a little on the high side, and the service or lack there of is below par. If you lived down south then this is not the place for you — if your a «yank» and want to experience creole give em a try. I like the interior(they dint try to hard to impress and kept it simple), finding this place is a little weird(shoot down A street). Been there several times and I have to say they are consistent — unfortunately it always consistently below average.

When The Bayou went away, I decided to give this place a chance. Then another. Then another. Never again. The food is not particularly good, the place is not particularly clean, prices are not particularly low, service is not particularly well organized or quick. Only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1: good hushpuppies.
