MultiCare Allenmore Hospital

I come here around midnight when I have emergencies and I never have to wait more than 15 minutes. Other typical ERs you have to wait 2 hours or more. Just drive here if you can.
The service is fast and thorough. They know what they’re doing. Almost went to st Clare’s and found out there was a 2 hour wait. Went here and 20 minutes later I was in a bed, talking to a doctor.
They also take Washington Apple health care.

Visited the doctor for othodics. the parking lot is so confusing to this place. You drive around this unorganized lot can’t find where you going very confusing setup.

I so appreciate the staff here ! Thank you for all you do.
Also the medical assistants/​nurses who check you in before you see the doctor are wonderful.

12/​18/​2013 — Had to take my Mom to ER tonight and Allenmore was the closest hospital. Have been here for about 3 hours and We are absolutely shocked at the gossip and stories we are hearing from our ER room from the female staff. The unprofessionalism is almost unbelievable. One dr has a drinking problem — no wonder he always comes to work with dark circles under his eyes… Drinking stories, college stories and dirty sex stories. My 19 yr old son is just shaking his head in complete shock! We will drive to St Joes from now on.

I had my 10^th surgery at Allenmore Hospital. All 9 surgeries I have had in the last 20 years were done at other hospitals. In none of those 9 surgeries did I have to plead and beg for pain medication like I had to at Allenmore.
I had total knee replacement and was in excruciating pain all but the last day of my stay. The only reason I got pain relief was due to the pharmacist coming up to talk to me about my meds. Two minutes after looking at my chart the pharmacist told them they should be giving me 3 pills not just one or two. Problem solved! However, the nurses were rude and neglectful of my needs after this.
I would never recommend anyone have surgery here!!! Go to Tacoma General or St. Joes or anywhere else.

p. s. I was told a nurse would call me the next day after I was released and yet no one ever called to see how I was doing. I bet none of my nurses has had total knee replacement or they would have been more sympathetic to my needs. In all my previous surgeries I was given alot more pain medication and they had to persuade me to take it cuz I didn’t think I need so much. So you see I am no wimp when it comes to pain. I resent the few knuckle heads who abuse prescription drugs causing the rest of us to suffer.

Today I had an appointment at 2:20. Due to several accidents on the freeway I was Late to my appointment.
I called the internal family medicine office at Multicare
and was told by a receptionist that I shouldn’t come in because I was passed the grace period.
I was in pain and wanted to cry. The receptionist offered me a new appointment next week.
Again wanted to cry.
My husband urged me to see if Dr. Yao could fit me in anyway.
The receptionist who checked me in, even though I was late made sure I was seen quickly. The front desk receptionist was so helpful.
I wish the women who took my call originally was as helpful…
Thankfully, it takes one awesome person to fix a bad situation.

My boyfriend rolled his ankle while hiking at Mt. Rainier so we decided to go to the ER at Allenmore vs. Tacoma General in hopes that it would be faster… I think we were right! It was a Saturday night so I was surprised to only see a handful of people in the waiting room. We checked in and filled out paperwork pretty quickly and took a seat thinking we would have a couple hour wait. Much to our surprise his name was called in less than 5 minutes! All of the staff we came across was super friendly and we didn’t feel rushed at all. It took a little while to get the X-​Ray results back, but all in all it wasn’t bad timing. Unfortunately he had to be put in a cast, but even that process was pretty painless.

An empty emergency waited for two hours sitting in room waiting for doctor. A basic Xray with no insurance is in the thousands of dollars. This is not ethical in any way. There was not even anything wrong with me nor did they mention what this would cost. Also it seems after speaking with Dr. that the 70% of the people coming in to emergency have the flu and all of them Have had their flu shot. So basically hospitals are injecting 3 strains of the flu from Asia which contain formaldehyde and mercury and we wonder why there is an epidemic. Many people are catching on to how horrendous medical care is. Keeping people sick is a business. After that latest bill I received they should be investigated for what they charge.

I’ve been to Allenmore several times in the last few months and have been very impressed with the quality of care. My most recent visit was for a surgery to treat an ongoing problem with my knees… and this being my first surgery, I was a bit nervous. Dr. Coons and all the surgeons and nurses who helped me out were extremely welcoming, answered all the questions I had about the surgery, and generally made me feel comfortable and eased some of my worry about the procedure. Everything went fine. I have also visited the MulitCare Urgent Care and had the same excellent service. The kindness and professionalism can make such a difference in your hospital experience, and so I will continue to choose Allenmore for medical care even though it is not the closest hospital to my home.

I was a recent day surgery patient at Allenmore Hospital. From the day I first stepped through the door for my preop appointment to the day of my surgery I was treated by every staff member like I was the only patient they had to care for. Everyone was so kind, attentive and truly cared about my well-​being. Upon my release I was sent home with my post-​op paperwork, along with an envelope that contained a get well card from the staff. The card was signed by everyone that provided care for me while I was a patient at Allenmore Hospital.
I must say I was shocked but very impressed with the «personal touches,» that they provided. I will defiantely recommend Allenmore Hospital to family and friends.

They have absolutely wonderful services from admitting all the way to discharge. I was there for a day surgery and all the nurses were so wonderful, sweet, caring and compassionate. You are all awesome! Thank you for taking care of me.

Being treated well when you’re 24, uninsured, and come in complaining about pain is invaluable. I wasn’t treated like a drug addict, instead I was treated with respect.
The nurses on the surgical floor were all awesome and the ER doctor that I initially saw was very kind as well. Out of the insane number of people I saw during my few days there only one was a grouch. The others all seemed to love their jobs and were more than willing to answer the infinite questions of a pre-​med student.
I did end up with surgery, and that sucked majorly, but it was handled with so much more dignity than my last hospital experience. Instead of wheeling me in there in the buff I was never conscious when I was in some more embarrassing situations. They even asked me what I wanted to listen to before I went under general anesthesia, so the last thing I remember was laughing and singing before waking up in the recovery area.
They did everything in their power to make me comfortable, and there’s no way I can really thank them enough for that, other than to give them a glowing review and recommend people to their hospital if in need.
