Miss Sudsy Laundromat

Love this out of the way laundromat. Found this here on Unilocal and have it a try. Nice place free coffee, tv and a whole lot of funny conversation

We went here yesterday because I was tired of our clothes not smelling like my laundry detergent and fabric softener when I washed them at the laundromat closest to us (we live in Lakewood, on the border of Steilacoom). I saw this place had good reviews, so we loaded up the truck with Mount Clothespile (mostly the result of my twin stepdaughters, who still wet the bed), and made the 8 mile drive across town.
Initially we had trouble finding it because it’s kind of tucked away, but once we did, there were several things I noticed.
First off, the place was clean. It smelled *amazing*. The washing machines and dryers all seemed to be clean and mostly in working order. They had lots of carts so you can easily transfer your clothes from the washers to the dryers. Super convenient, I appreciate that!
And then there’s the customer service. In spite of the fact that the lady who was there had been there since that morning, she was super sweet and helpful. She and her adorable daughter were really what completed the experience, but there was also another lady there whom I had a great conversation with about step-​kids.
My only complaint is that it is expensive to wash: $ 4.50 a load in the big washers (which hold double loads). We had 20 dollars to do about 6 loads of laundry, and it wasn’t enough to wash *and* dry everything (I wound up hanging up a few things in our apartment to dry). However, you do get what you pay for, and I would rather pay a bit more to get cleaner smelling laundry, excellent service, plus a bathroom to wash my hands in after handling dirty laundry and free WiFi to keep me entertained while I wait.
As long as we can afford the gas and the extra it costs to wash our clothes there, I’ll happily go back!
One last thing… we were bad customers and showed up only an hour and a half before they closed… but they were still so sweet. I appreciate excellent customer service, and this is what you’ll find there. Highly recommend that if you must use a laundromat for whatever reason, this is a great place to go!

Best service ever! And the lady who works there is a gem. Very lovely and sweet. And the place is super clean! not a dust to be seen. She has a small section for kids to play and she also gives refreshments. I love this place ! Very welcoming unlike other laundromats I’ve been to.

This place is awesome! It’s Clean, great machines, toys for your kids to play with, a massage chair (seriously, it’s amazing), and the owner is so nice and welcoming! I actually like doing laundry when I’m here lol!

Hmmm… well it’s a laundromat for starters. It wasn’t really busy when I went on a Saturday around 12. What I noticed right off the bat is that there is such a mish mash of different types and styles of washers and dryers and some look really old and some are really new (as I was told by the attendant… the «Asian lady» that everyone keeps referring to). I went down one of the super narrow aisles to find a washer and the attendant found me right away and said she’d never seen me before and then proceeded to help me find an open washer and advise on how to use a washing machine. All I asked was, «where can I get quarters?» Yes, it was nice of her to show me around the place but not necessary. I’m glad she seems to take pride in her job.
I noticed though that there was folded laundry all over the place that had open space from the attendant processing laundry orders but all the folded laundry took up space where you could have put your laundry basket or bag down. Again, the aisles are super narrow so if someone is blocking the aisle while loading laundry you cannot go down the aisle and have to find another way around. I used the newer washers that have dryers right on top of them. So that was nice to be able to just pull my clothes out of the washer and put them immediately into the dryer without having to walk around searching for one. I also noticed that once many of the dryers are going at one time, the temperature inside the laundromat gets super hot as if the air is somehow leaking back into the main floor. I actually had to take my jacket and shirt off and I’m usually always cold. I think the dryers give you more time than most other places.
The little lounge area was decent except there were kids there and they had the volume up loud while watching Spongebob Squarepants on the TV. It certainly won’t be my 1^st choice for laundry but it gets the job done. Oh! They have free Wi-​Fi.

Good if you want to get your laundry done with minimal hassle but be prepared for the Asian lady owner to give you «assistance» with your laundry. Whether you want to hang out it’s up to you but if you can understand her she was pretty helpful about getting things done. They seem pretty hectic with getting custom orders done. While the washers were coin-​operated it was strange because none of the small dryers were and you needed to buy a ticket at the front. On the upside they do have a coin operated massage chair for while you’re waiting and free Wi-​Fi so that’s a big plus.

I live on the other side of town but drive here when I need to use a laundry mat. Mega washers (they can fit multiple blankets) are $ 4 per load, regular washers are $ 2.25, and the dryers get started with a quarter. This place is busy for good reason — the customer service is the best. Everyone here is sweet and helpful. Why do your laundry anywhere else?

I’ve never used a laundromat before but my w/​d both quit working at the same time. After quite the laundry build up I went in just to make sure I had enough work uniforms to get by until my new set was delivered. The lady there is so nice it’s like you’re just going to visit a friend. I ended up catching up on all of my laundry and had a great day in the process. The extra large washers are great for larger linens so I’m sure I will be back for a visit :)

Asian lady is SUPER nice! And funny. There’s a tv, soda and snacks. Right next to our apts too. So far so good

Everyone who works here is awesome and they are always cleaning. I would recommend Miss Sudsy to anyone looking for a laundry.

what a wonderful discovery! i have never been there and i recently «went out on a limb» to take some new jeans there to be hemmed. i am SO tired of paying $ 18+ for a simple hem job on jeans, right ladies?
anywho…
i asked the woman there (who said she was just filling in) what the cost would be and she said «i think about $ 7.50» (which i smiled about as that is unbelievably CHEAP!) she said it would take 5 days or so which is totally fine by me (pretty standard it seems.)
then — less than 24 hours later — i get a voicemail msg from her that «the pants are all ready!» so i buzzed over there and picked them up. only about $ 10!

i came here due to all the good reviews. I live east of spanaway so it was worth the drive! jinda is nice and friendly as well as funny and helpful. if you need a laundromat miss sudsy’s is the place to go. oh yeah she makes great coffee!

Jindais very nice and helpful. Don’t use a laundromat very often but whenever I have to I definitely will make sure to come here.

The owner is so friendly and helps you with everything possible. 2^nd time I’ve used this place. 1^st time I turned in all my linens for my king size bed and pillows, had them washed and folded and done within 2 days. (There was a lot of other orders turned in before mine). Now this 2^nd time I had all my king size linens and 2 loads of regular clothes. Came in early at 10 and done by 12. Amazing service!

What a great experience. Never thought I’d say that about laundry! The owner is very friendly. She goes above and beyond to ensure her customer’s satisfaction. Very clean with plenty of machines. Highly recommend!

I’ve never loved a laundromat before. The woman who works here found me at a business nearby because I had forgotten my towels. she helped me more than anyone has ever helped me in a laundromat and expected nothing in return. It was an amazing experience. I love this place.

This place is AMAZING!!! Ive been to 2 laundromats since I have lived on my own. The other laundromat (located in Olympia, WA) was $ 5 for a single load washed, and 4 minutes per quarter placed in the dryer.
Here was $ 2(TWO DOLLARS) for a DOUBLE load washer, AND 7 minutes per quarter placed in the dryer!
WOW!!! Love it will be here every week!

The only place I will go if I have a big project.
The self-​appointed «crazy chinese lady» is an absolute GEM and is wonderful. You can leave your stuff with her for the day and she will do it for you.
I always tip her generously

I drive from Bremerton to here to do my laundry. That’s how good it is. The lady who owns or runs this laundry is always happy to see me and welcomes me as a friend. She is super helpful with any questions. The place is super clean and well run and I almost never see a machine that is out of service. It truly is as good as it gets.

Miss Sudsy is cleaner than most laundromats and the owner — a very sweet woman — is usually on site. She does laundry by the pound herself for a fee, like most laundromats, but she tends to help you and look after you even if you’re doing your own.
There are several heavy duty machines that do triple loads on site… one problem with Miss Sudsy is that some machines are in need of repair… so make sure what you need is in working order before you start.
For a comfortable place to hang while laundering and customer service though, Miss Sudsy won’t be beat!
