Cozy wine tasting room. Staff are very accommodating and personable. Great deals on wine and delicious pairings. Romantic or casual this tasting room is great for a night out or a stop by on the way home!

The tasting room in Tacoma has the distinction of being one of the only ones (maybe the only one) open on Sundays — huge plus for anyone (like us) wanting to do a nice day trip down south and looking for a little grape-​related diversion. It’s a great space, good-​sized with lots of tables and apparently dog and bring-​your-​own-​food friendly, too. The fella pouring for us was really pleasant, jovial and, most important, in the know about the wines and anxious to make sure we got a good sample of what they offer.
I found the wines a lot harder to get behind. The whites, especially the Viognier, were their stronger offerings, generally easy to drink but not especially exciting. The whites also had better-​balanced acidity than the reds did. The reds, by contrast, were pretty uniformly high in acid, though not in a good way. I like acidity in wine, but this was too much, with several of the reds ending up with their more interesting flavors drowned out by sourness. This was especially a problem for the Malbec we tasted. Unfortunately, one of the reds that was well-​balanced in terms of acidity, the Carménère, had a fair amount of the green and rubbery pyrazine notes that don’t do that grape any favors. We did get a pour of a Port style that they made that was nice.
Bottom line: Though I wasn’t won over by most of the wines I tasted, they make a lot wines (20 plus according to our host), and we only tasted about seven of them; so, it’s possible they have better offerings that we missed. You might find it worthwhile to stop by and check out what they’ve got for yourself.

Cute little spot, great place for a Saturday to relax and try some new wines. We ended up with three bottles of wine.

This tasting room is so cute. They are fairly new and a little small, but what they may lack in space they make up in wine! My fiancé and I went there for a tasting by random and loved their wines so much we decided to join their club. We weren’t big fans of wine clubs at first because we thought they were really expensive, but the deal you get with gingko is unbelievable!!! To be a part of their wine club, all you have todo is by 3 bottles of wine a year. We go through that many bottles in a week or two. And you get great discounts and you and guests get free wine tastings. You can’t lose with this place!

Hands down a place to go and taste wine, near of far. The server was very knowledgeable on the wines and their wine club is one of the most appreciated and customer friedly; 15% of wines, monthly events, special discounts, and no large amount or type obligation. Of all the reds and wines tasted besides the most awarded wines; most popular were the raspberry port, grenache, syrah, and riesling. If youre planning on eating dinner there is a large selection to choose from within a five mile radius.

My wife and I visited here first because a friend highly recommended it. We walked in and I immediately thought «this is either going to suck– or be my new favorite place».
Well, we joined the wine club that night, and go back as often as we can. We even hosted our pre wedding celebration party there, and have since had several friends join the wine club also. We love the small simple and intimate feel.
The wine is great, they have a good selection of red, white and even desert wines. You can tell the staff genuinely enjoys wine and sharing wine knowledge. We are by no means particularly knowledgable wine drinkers, but would like to be. We have had Kate as our server several times and she makes the experience even better. She is not snobby about our lack of wine knowledge, but rather just gives us information that makes sense to us and answers out questions. She let’s us have a good time, get pretty goofy, and will even come chat it up with us a bit while we are tasting. The prices are also unbeatable! If you go during happy hour, $ 3 a glass– for GOOD WINE! Where else can you get that?! Really?!
The only downside is if you bring a friend who doesn’t like wine, there are no other alcoholic options. They do have soda and water. Also, no food service but they do have cheese and meat plates.
Wine club member perks: free tasting anytime, 15% off any purchase, access to exclusive wine member events and wines. All you have to do is choose once (or twice) a year to purchase a few bottles of wine hand picked and crafted by the wine maker. There is no cost to joining the wine club.

These wines are pretty darn good, depth of taste, complex flavors.
The 2008 Cabernet was very good and would pair well with any meat, probably even a heartier fish like salmon or halibut.
2010 Gingko Red had a deep rich red color, and notes of cherry and pepper. I think this would go with a heavier meat: beef, lamb or game.
Their bottle prices are very good $ 12-​$ 24, and they have a huge variety of wines: Many reds, whites, and dessert wines :)
Tasting room is good sized, and decorated with the art of local artists. I think cheese plates are available as well, to have with your tasting.
Abundance of free parking, location is 1 ½ blocks to the waterfront, and less than 3 miles from the Museum of Glass.
