First Assembly of God Life Center

I have attended this church for a few years now. The commitment to people, Jesus, and this city is so amazing and I am so blessed to be apart of something changing the world, while building God’s Kingdom!

I have been to churches all over the country and grew up in the AG church. I don’t say that to mean I am by any means an expert, but I do say it to at least qualify my comments and give them some context.
Dean Curry IS a special type of pastor that is increasingly rare. He has an amazing ability to challenge people to live the life God has for them, without condemning them for where they currently are at. The church welcomes people of all faiths, sexual orientations, those who struggle with addiction — Dean never looses site that we are all sinners saved by grace, but also recognizes that Jesus loves us enough to not leave us in the darkness where he finds us. We are called to something more. Something greater!
Dean channels the love of Jesus in a way that you just don’t often see. We left Tacoma years ago, but still listen to Life Center online almost every week. If you are lucky enough to live near Life Center then you definitely should check it out. Great things are happening at this church and they have a passion for helping Tacoma, for spreading Jesus, and for being a light in the world.

Life center would probably be considered a mega church to most. They offer all types of activities to get involved on a more personal level with people. Worship is amazing! Pastor Dean speaks to all struggles of everyday life and applies scripture to each sermon. Life center is welcoming and you can be involved as little or a much as you prefer.

Probably the worst church service I have ever been to! It runs more like a really bad concert/​talk show with very little meaning, if it even had a meaning. I had to leave early. I just couldn’t handle it.

Had a nice «Christian» friend who began attending Life Center and immediately started acting brainwashed and addicted to a degree he quit all the other healthy activities he’d worked at for years, and instead began preaching numerous daily rants on Facebook in a tone that no longer sounded like the same person. Whereas he had been a kind-​hearted polite man, he began combatively questioning other people’s faith in a rude holier-​than-​thou way that eventually alienated friends. He frequently mentions hell fire, and how that is where everybody who doesn’t think like he does is going (especially gay people.) Very sad to see the change from a charitable Christian into a pompous robot for Jesus.

Spent probably about 10 to 15 years going here, they have good service’s here, but always were begging for money.(They would have like a huge thermometer with the goal they want and the red part be where it is) They also do a real nice Christmas «play» each year at that time.
Now it’s basically a mega church which average’s over 2,000 people a service and they have a retirement home, and a k-​12 school right next to the church now.
They also do a pretty good job at helping other people.

Been there twice. Welcoming. Rousing music (get your hands in the air) with 5 or more musicians and an energetic choir. Convicting, passionate, bible-​based sermons, often featuring drama and usually having an altar-​call at the end. Incorporates a school and a senior’s home.
