Edgeworks Climbing

This place is pretty pricey for an indoor climbing gym, it ran about $ 30 per person for admission and rental gear, but my boyfriend and I had fun when we went! We went on a weekday and it was pretty packed. I think if we want to start getting more serious about rock climbing, we would purchase the deals. The routes are pretty challenging as we are beginners. The employees were knowledgeable and there are a bunch of classes offered for indoor and outdoor climbing. I also saw yoga classes as well. I hope to try out their classes!

I took my 13 year old son here for his birthday and he and my 17 year old had a blast! For the both of them to climb for about 2.5 hours it was only ~$ 60. AND I was told that we could leave to grab lunch and come back and continue to climb (we didn’t arrive early enough to do that, but maybe next time). The staff was very helpful as well. We will be returning. It’s a great rainy day activity.

Edgeworks is wonderful for kids and adults, singles and pairs. My kids love the many auto belays and variety at the climbing wall. It’s a great spot.

Excellent fun and high quality routes and even better people. Routes change often and there are plenty of events and activities offered as well. Yoga classes are one of a kind and I definitely recommend trying them out!

Great place to climb! Provides a great place to stay conditioned for future outdoor climbs.
The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.
They offer a student discount but almost no military which I don’t agree with but other than that the prices are ok.

This was my first time at an indoor rock climbing gym. I’ve done my homework and read reviews of other gyms and found that I liked this one the best.
Their hours are one of the main selling points for me. My work schedule is very unstable and Edgework’s hours are perfect for me. Also their rates are very fair. Also their routes were color coordinated for the entire gym. That’s a plus for me because I’m a visual learner and just makes everything easier. I also liked that their climbing 100 classes were included in the membership.
So I go in and the front desk people were very friendly. I got signed up and immediately took the intro into climbing 101 class. Ben was my instructor and he was very friendly and is very knowledgable about climbing. He made it seem like climbing was so easy that an infant could do it.
I’ve also been to one of their monthly climber socials, where they serve beer to you if you’re 21 or older of course.
Since signing up at the gym, I’ve taken fitness, yoga classes, and been to the gym for about 2 weeks now. Everyone’s very friendly, the instructors are extremely helpful and I’ve meet some friends. The environment is relaxed. I would recommend this gym to anyone in the area.

This place is awesome! I went for the very first time a few months back and was very please with the environment, and friendly staff. They made sure that you felt completely comfortable and did a great job educating, and giving tips for an enjoyable climb. Highly recommended!

Great place to take the kids to learn how to climb without all the rope training as they have automated belaying and repelling devices on various walls. I would’ve preferred to see all the beginner routes in the same area/​walls instead of mixed in with expert walls and so forth.

I love the auto belay device… One day I will trust it! The routes are challenging and fun… It was a great break from my normal workout routine!
The staff is super friendly and the facility is clean… I will definitely be back!

This is a great location to pick up a new hobby. They have intro classes which teach you the fundamentals of rock climbing; they’re taught at a good pace, and you notice improvements pretty quickly. The instructors are great, everyone who climbs is friendly, and it’s a great atmosphere.

Definitely a fan! Really good bouldering routes (they call them circuits here). People here were very nice, and while it looks small-​ish in pictures, there are actually lot of routes and good space to go for. (I’ve been in some tiny bouldering places, and I was afraid this would be super small, but not so!). The rates on the routes were pretty standard — I thought at least.
They also have filtered water, some weights and open cubbies for your stuff.
Pricing is typical — $ 15ish that doesn’t include your own gear.

This is my favorite climbing gym from Olympia to Seattle. The staff are all very freindly and the people seem to always be nice. I enjoy climbing there. They have many different routes including auto belays, lead climbing and belaying.

At the time we were here, there was a Unilocal check-​in offer but it was no longer valid.
Their rates are high. Maybe this is typical for climbing gyms around this area but this was the most expensive we have ever experienced. We were in town for a couple of weeks from Portland and left all of our gear at home, so this forced us to rent shoes and chalk.
The dedicated bouldering section is very small, with some additional bouldering space on the roped walls, up to the bouldering height limit. Topping out is annoying, having to go over the wall, walk across to the gate, through a room, down the stairs, through the reception area, and then back into climbing area. It didn’t take long to get bored, especially as the small space started getting more crowded, and people started to have to wait in line to climb a route.
We definitely did not get $ 50 worth of climbing out of this visit. It’s not a great place for bouldering, IMO. Perhaps rope climbers have a more enjoyable time here.

I signed my 11 year old daughter up for classes here because she needed an activity to substitute for PE class. What a great choice! She absolutely loved climbing here. The instructors were great with kids: patient, motivating and encouraging. She learned different styles of climbing and after just a few sessions her confidence and strength were so much greater than when she started. The staff were friendly, knowledgable, and really emphasized safety. Also, they host different fun events (black light climbing at Halloween) and competitions so they keep it friendly and social as well as a fun and challenging place to climb.

I went to this place because my friend bought a groupon for me. People, meaning staff and climbers alike, are nice. Facility is really small. When I say small, I mean really small. The lockers, showers, and toilets are in a room the same size as my bathroom at home. Not a huge fan of the way the top out system works. I prefer to top out and have an easy down climb then to walk all the way across a room and down a stairwell. There’s no sauna or towel service. The climbs itself are underrated. The only nice thing that I found out was that if you wanted to lead climb, you can borrow a rope from the front desk.

Love this place! The route-​setters are very creative and there is a good variation between style and movement. Don’t be discouraged in getting a membership because you don’t know anyone that climbs or are new to climbing. There are many friendly people that will offer you a belay and you’ll make friends easily! At least this has been my experience. I only wish they extended the student discount to older adults as well!
Also, the facility has (clean) showers!
and a new addition (to lots of other goodies) — the pilates reformer!

Started climbing here after using a groupon, from the start the staff was very helpful and nice. I am a beginner and it was a bit intimidating when it’s busy there but it’s always a good workout and they change the routes/​problems frequently.

What a great place to learn how to rock-​climb! I always thought rock-​climbing was intimidating and not for me. My friend convinced me to give it a go… And WOW — the classes were easy to understand, the staff was super-​friendly and super-​helpful, and progression was quick. And the reward of «topping off» and sitting on top of the rock you just climbed. I guess it’s one of the few places (if not only place in Western Washington) that you can «top off» — It’s an amazing feeling and so accessible.
There’s some amazing and inspiring rock climbing super stars around you but there’s always some normal looking people like me who are just trying it out.

It smells like feet here!
I redeemed a Living Social deal this past weekend and had a lot of fun, once I get over the fact that it literally stinks. I went with a big group and did not make a reservation but luckily one of their volunteer belayers offered to show us the ropes. We each started with two rounds under her instruction and then were free to climb on the automated belay. At first I was terrified of just falling back and letting the automated belay lead me down. The first second or so when you let go you think you are going to plummet to your death but the cord catches you and you come down slowly and gently! I actually prefer this method as oppose to having someone work the ropes for me.
I noticed they are on living social quite often so if you are waiting for a deal, mine was $ 14 for an all day pass with all rentals: shoes, harness, etc. But if you come there without one of these deals it is $ 16 for an all day adult pass and $ 9 for rental.
It is a great space with some friendly people and lots of kids that seem to be in a class of sorts. They have clean restrooms, a small weight room and some tables upstairs if you wanted to maybe have a lunch break in between climbing sessions.
