Dobler Management Company

Thank you for reviewing the case. I did not assert that Dobler had done something illegal or against the contract by withholding the security deposit. However, before we ever signed the agreement, we discussed this specifically with Dobler, telling them that we were having a house built and that we would probably not be staying for the full term of the lease. We were told that, as long as another party rented the house and there was no loss in rental revenue, that they would return the balance of the security deposit.
When we left, there was loss of rental revenue for a few days, and we deducted that amount from the amount that we asked Dobler to refund to us.
So, even though Dobler had already been made financially whole in this circumstance, Dobler withheld an additional amount of $ 740, simply because it could legally do so, taking advantage of their customer for financial gain. For Dobler to say now that they would be discriminating is not only disingenuous, but pours salt into the wounds.

We applied to 2 of their properties, Alder Court and Trellis on Orchard both of which denied us per Sound Screening. They took our deposits and take forever to return them. The denial for my husband vaguely stated «employment»? He’s been with the same company close to 6 years and makes quadruple the rent! After seeing these reviews I’m glad we were denied so we can stay clear of this management company! From what we have experienced already, I can see that we definitely dodged a bullet, and they did us a favor!

Los Altos are great apartments and it is in a central location. But high in your our little hideaway. The apartment is very spacious with plenty storage, I enjoy coming home. Close to the Tacoma Mall and minutes away from the highway. Our apartment backs up to a green hills with huge trees, singing birds, attractively quiet setting. I have felt comfortable and welcome here from day one.

I lived in an apartment complex owned and managed by Dobler Management. I was paying for a reserved parking spot and one came open closer to my apartment and so I asked to switch. No problem I was told, Then I was told that I needed to give 20 days notice for vacating the parking spot that I currently had, so would need to pay for both through the end of the month. I thought it was odd, but it was an insignificant amount, so I went along. Months later on I needed to vacate the parking spot, but this time I was prepared. I checked into the lease agreement and the parking addendum, but could not find the 20 day notice clause. When I informed the office that I was vacating the parking spot, I was again told that I would need to give 20 days notice. I gently asked to be shown the requirement in the lease. The office staff couldn’t find anything and suggested that I contact Dobler Management. I did and left a message explaining my issue and requested a call back. No call back ever happened. I stopped by the office and was told that I did not have to give notice to vacate a parking spot. Seems like they are taking advantage of people who do not read their lease. Parking was always a mess and me having two spots for ½ a month when I only used one.
I will never live in a Dobler Management property again.

Tudor Village is a super nice brand new community. I find the staff and management to be easy to work with and quick to respond. Absolutely beautiful with one of the nicest fitness rooms I have seen at an apartment community.

I wish I could give them less than 1 star. Awful company with terrible management. Nothing but problems. They are nice looking apartments but they are run by complete morons who shouldn’t even be in charge of running a gas station. Move out process was horrible and the people at the main office were absolutely a nightmare to work with and incredibly rude. I realize apartments are apartments but the way I was treated by management was unacceptable.

DO NOT RENT FROM DOBLER MANAGEMENT. worst experience ever. never returned my calls or emails. never resolved any issues. They made me pay my last months rent TWICE because it wasn’t ON FILE from when we first moved in. yet I had proof that we already paid. We gave our keys back early after we had paid our last months rent payment in FULL for the second time and they said they had a waiting list and would be able to get a new renter in their right away and prorate us back… that never happened. they go through way to many managers and assistant managers therefore no one is on the same page!

I moved out of one of their complexes, left my apartment very clean and received a bill. I contacted Dobler about the issue. After they reviewed the situation, they returned my deposit. I’m very happy I talked to them and they were honest and fixed the problem.

It’s literally impossible to move in to Park Place Apartments. Dobler Management, their parent management company, has some of the most strict screening requirements known to humankind. Long story short, they won’t let two optometrists move into their apartment even though they have impeccable credit. The reasons they gave were RIDICULOUS: one’s about to graduate in a week and will be starting a residency, and one is moving across the country and is currently jobless. We have no credit card debt, have never been evicted nor even had any complaint from our previous landlords. Fine. We’ll jump through your hoops, because at this point I’ve spent over 15 hours trying to rent this ridiculous place, and it better be a mansion. Well wouldn’t you know? Their nice but dumb minions Norma and Jenny don’t know how to talk to Sound Screening services (maybe also owned by Dobler, who knows?), and ended up rejecting us EVEN AFTER WE AGREED TO HAVE A COSIGNER AND EVEN THOUGH SOUND SCREENING SAID WE WERE OKAY. Why? Because our cosigner doesn’t own property in the state of Washington. Learn your laws, Jenny, Norma, Park Place, and Dobler, because there’s no way in hell I’d ever rent for you. It’s a good thing too, because apparently Dobler never gives you your security deposit back. I’m so glad we dodged a bullet, even though we had to pay $ 100 to do so. Here’s hoping you do too.

a$$ wipes come in here to do the third «annual inspection» in seven months… they left all the frickin lights on, and we come home from work, our hallway is flooded from the downstairs bathroom. i dont know what they did while they were in here, but everything was dry and turned off when i left this morning. beyonnnnnnd furious right now. unable to contact anyone to come fix this problem… no emergency phone numbers posted at the office door or window!!! i swear that if this mess keeps happening, i will be standing out front of their properties with signs telling people not to rent from them. i will post all over my social media multiple times a month telling everyone i know to avoid their properties. the 7 months we have been here has been total hellll!!!

If I could give Dobler Management less than one star, I would.
Park Imperial Apartments, Auburn, WA

Rented a unit in Park Imperial, two bedrooms, 1.5 baths. When I inspected the unit it was in relatively good condition with a couple missing window screens and a couple bleach stains on the floor.
On the day I moved in, the window screens were missing, there was a huge hole in the carpet in front of the sliding glass door, the frame to the glass door was broken and the door would not lock, the were paint stains on the carpet in the living room and hallways, and one of the kitchen drawers was broken.
I was told that everything would be fixed right away; it has been 4 months and the frame of the door is still cracked, the carpet still has paint stains and a hole, I still don’t have window screens, and the drawer is only fixed because I fixed it myself.
They have gone through three managers in three months, and the office is supposed to be open M-​F, 9 – 5 and it has been closed for the last week with no notice as to why or when it will be opened.
The management company keeps saying I owe them money and that they are going to start penalizing me for it, but at first they couldn’t’ tell me what it was for. Then they told me it was for April’s rent. I provided a receipt for that, so they said that it was for an electricity bill, which I provided an exact receipt for. Then they said it was May’s rent, which I provided a receipt for… they just keep saying it’s something else without showing me a bill for which I have not paid.
They do not accept personal checks or cash, so everything has to be paid with cashier’s checks or money orders and ¾ of the time you do not get a receipt for what you’ve paid.
Children throw trash out their windows all the time, kids crawl in and out of windows, people yell and scream at all hours of the night, and there is random enforcement of rules.
Parking spaces are assigned, but there is no recourse if someone parks in your spot, nor is there any way to tell which spot is assigned to which unit – when I signed my lease, the apartment manager declined to physically show me saying «I think it’s one of the ones to the right of the handicapped spot. Just park, and someone will leave a note on your car if it’s not yours.»
DO NOT rent from these people.

Rented Royal Oaks apartment, Duplex, 3 beds, 1.5 bath
Everything started to fail after one month of living in the house.
House — bad heater, light fixtures and bathroom faucet.
Maintenance –
walks around in your house without shoe cover and leaves mark on your carpet. Says will come «sometimes» in the morning and never show up for the whole day. Just wasted your day waiting for nothing,
Did 2 different check up for heater, this 2 maintenance don’t know crap. Blamed us for the using the heater too much and says we have to pay for it if they found out that it was our fault. (using heater too much, who says that?). A heater technician came and found out that they have to replace one of the component of their heating system.
Management —-
the manager named Theresa and Julie reinforced rules yearly while ignoring her co worker Julie who lives in the property and ignoring rules and enforce the rules to other tenant. While Julie likes to enforce rules as well while she does whatever she wants, i.e. parking regulations, her pets that walks around everywhere, her parties, and others.
Overall, they hire uncivilized and IDIOT Maintenance, DOUBLE STANDARDS Management, and GOOD EXTERIOR with BAD interior houses.

We have had the WORST experience with Dobler. IF you get the chance, don’t rent from them.
The reason why: We have waited 2 MONTHS for our deposit back. We were patient and understanding however after waiting this long with no response from any of my emails, calls or anything else we are furious.
This company is HORRIBLE and they do not care about their tenants.

I have had the unfortunate experience of living in an apartment owned by the Dobler Management Company. The apartment when I moved in was a wreck. The blinds were broken, window lock did not work, the dishwasher was broken because of hunks of glass left in it, and the washing machine was soiled with the prior occupant’s dirt. It took management at least 4 – 6 weeks to remedy these issues. I just had my partner fix the lock on the front door to our apartment because management took forever. shit
Then after living there for three months, I came home to a bill taped to my front door. Apparently, new apartment manager, Debra, wanted me to pay $ 3.20 in refuse, even though refuse is included in my rent. And then Debra stated in the bill that if I didn’t pay by the end of the day (I got home from work at like 6:30 p.m.) I would have to pay an additional $ 50 late fee. Of course, Debra was not in her office at that hour. I called the emergency maintenance number, but they were of no help. So I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint because I wanted it documented that I was contesting this random bill.
Monique Carey from Dobler responded to by BBB complaint. It was riddled with lies. She claimed the old manager had sent me statements reflecting this outstanding bill of $ 3.20 in electricity. LIE. I never received any statements while Amber was manager. Carey lamented that I was one of those pesky tenants who over look the small things until they threaten with a late fee to get my attention. LIE. I have enough money to pay $ 3.20 if I truly owe it. Just show me in writing that I legitimately owe it. Carey claimed that Debra had an excel spread sheet showing I owe $ 3.20. The only sheet Debra has shown me, she herself admitted she did not know how it was written and what the different charges meant.
There is a reason Dobler has an «F» rating from the BBB.
Debra later left and then another manager came in.
Dobler was also horrible with enforcing the parking in the parking lot. People were constantly parking in my spot and they did nothing about it.
