Dr. Joseph Barrett was raised in Tacoma and attended Wilson High School. He later graduated from the University of Washington and received his Medical Training in San Franciso at the California College of Podiatric Medicine, affiliated directly with the University of California San Francisco Medical School. He served a 2 year surgical preceptorship with Dr. Daniel Johnson of Burien, Washington. Dr. Barrett and his wife currently live in Gig Harbor.
