Balanced Dog Training & Grooming

I took my Yorkshire terrier in about a year ago… I asked for a puppy cut… she charged me $ 50 for a cat lion cut… I was stupid and paid her even though she saw I was in tears about the butcher job she had done on my puppy…

Great place, reasonably priced and quick. Staff has been extremely pleasant and have done a better job than other places we have tried. Will definitely keep going back.

Liar and a cheat! This business has posted prices of $ 65 – 70 for a large breed dog for a cut, wash and dry. Not only did it take an extra four hours longer than what the worker said it would take, she charged $ 95. When questioned, she replied it was because my dog was a «huge breed» dog. Well, my dog is a 52 lb Golden Doodle; which by all estimates, is on the small side of a large breed. Upon further questioning of why the sign posted says $ 65 – 70, she could not reply with an answer. Following this, I asked about a military discount which she then said she could take $ 5 off, for a grand total of $ 90. After she had hurriedly already swiped the card she took out of my wife’s hand, we left. I then discovered on their website that they «always offer» a 15% military discount. Needless to say, we will not be returning. I wouldn’t be surprised if all the previous reviews were from the owner as she has set that precedence today.

Service was quick and kind. Prices are competitive, but its on the wrong side of town and the de-​shed was not enough to keep my lab from really shedding.

I have had dogs that need to be groomed for over 30 years and have used many groomers in the past. I found Balanced when they were in Fife and loved how good they are with our dogs, when they moved to Tacoma I made the commute from Federal Way for a while but decided to find a groomer in Federal Way. Bad decision, our Scottie who had only been groomed at Balanced and had no issues started having anxiety when going to the other groomer. Well he is back at Balanced and they are still as wonderful and kind as when I left.
Check them out, they are amazing. You won’t regret it.

I love these groomers. They have like 8 of their own dogs that they bring to the shop and my dog likes hanging out there. They do a great job. They clip the nails and my dog used to be afraid before we started going here but not any more! Very friendly with great prices. And they don’t leave your dog cooped up in a cage for hours!
Our dogs do not fear the bath at all… they are very good. My youngest yorkie was so nervous when I first started bathing her at home, but since going to groomers she no longer freaks when I bath get. A ++++

Balanced Dog is sooo good! Luna, our Cocker Spaniel loves both Lesha and Jeff. They are so patient with her. Her haircuts are exactly what we ask for. Her training tips have really helped Luna be a better behaved dog. We have used them a couple of times to board Luna while we went on vacation and it has worked really well. They do it in their home and she becomes part of their pack. I’m so glad we haven’t had to board her in a kennel. She even came home the first time knowing how to sit on command. I highly highly recommend Balanced Dog to my friends and family!
