Jreck Subs

stopped in for a mid-​afternoon meal. We ordered the fried chicken subs & ate in. Overall pretty good sub, only con was they put the chicken on the bottom of everything. every other jreck I have been to they put the chicken on top.

Always a good place to stop in. Their bread is always fresh and good. Felt a little rushed as they were closing at 6 pm on a Saturday night, other than that it was a great stop.

I went there one time and was extremely disappointed. I reluctantly went back recently and was pleasantly surprised. Having grown up w Jreck Subs my whole life, I am accustomed to some consistency from this sandwich shop and, although initially really bummed, I’ll definitely go back. The servers were friendly and the subs were all on-​point. No complaints.
Bottom line: I do enjoy a Jreck’s steak and cheese, but I’ll go to Wegmans for any other sub…

Jreck Subs is a local CNY staple that’s endorsed by Jim Boeheim of all people. If that’s not enough of a reason to stop in then clearly you are from out of town.
Their sandwiches aren’t better or worse than Subway, they are just different. They have a nice deal on Tuesdays where you can get 2 footlong subs for the price of one — hard to beat that for a quick workday lunch with a co-​worker.
They also serve hot subs like steak where they grill while you wait — this is an upgrade from a reheated Subway meat sandwich.
The staff at this particular location are always very friendly. If you want a coffee with lunch this location shares a building with Dunkin Donuts and they have a pass through between the two.

Just ok. If you are in a rush, it’s fine, but honestly, you could make a better sandwich at home.

Had a meatball sub, it was ok — nothing special. Bread was doughy and not much taste. It was eatable but will go elsewhere myself next time.

Worth the extra dollar compared to Subway, and a more than decent sandwich overall, but I’m not sure this place warrants the fetishism that people from this area seem to give it. Maybe I didn’t know what to order, though. The steak sub had a ton of meat but the sauce they put on it was really bland. Loved the soft bread, though.
